Bastian put his seatbelt as well before pulling out onto the road. The car was obviously well built, from its smooth motions to its near silent engine. He began to make his way across town, the radio playing faint rock music as they drove
“So, where are we going to eat?” Corbin asked, looking over his shoulder at Orion for a moment before looking to Bastian.
"Little bar and grill type place a few blocks away," Bastian answered with a small smile. He wasn't good at the whole "romantic" thing, so he figured that sort of place would be good enough
“Sounds nice,” Corbin commented with a slow nod of his head. He looked away and out a window, watching the buildings pass by.
Eventually Bastian pulled up in front of what looked like just a bar with an apartment on top of it. He parked the car, stepping out before walking around and opening the door for Corbin with a small grin
“Thanks,” Corbin said getting out of the car, Orion bounding our after him. He picked up Orion’s leash and held onto his crutch, not needing to use it just yet.
"You're welcome," Bastian hummed before closing the door. He pushed his sunglasses up on his head, smiling as he pulled the door of the bar open for him as well
Corbin walked inside, glancing around a bit. He thought it was nice inside, not too fancy or anything like that. He hoped that service dogs were allowed in there. If not, he would just give a big ole ‘fuck you’ to the manager and stay anyways.
Bastian les him to one of the booths, sliding into one before giving Corbin a small smile. “I know it’s not much, but I think it’s sort of nice.”
Corbin sat down across from Bastian, resting his crutch in his lap and Orion stay in the floor next to the booth. “It’s alright, I wouldn’t have wanted to go somewhere really fancy, anyways.”
“Good to know,” Bastian said with a small smile. As he spoke a red headed man walked over, wearing dark sunglasses and holding a notepad.
“Well, well. Been a while since you’ve shown up during the day,” the man chuckled
Corbin glanced over at the man before looking back at Bastian. He didn’t say anything, keeping his arms loosely folded over his chest as Orion sniffed a bit at the man’s shoes.
“Yeah, yeah. Cas, this is Corbin. Corbin, Cas,” Bastian said, rolling his eyes before introducing them. “Oh, and that’s Orion,” he said before pointing to the dog
“Good to meet you,” Corbin said. He held out his hand and waited for Cas to shake it.
Cas shook his hand with a smile. “Nice to see Bastian trying to get over A-“ He didn’t get to finish his sentence before Bastian kicked him sharply in the ankle. Cas just scowled at him before smiling at Corbin again. “Alright, alright, here’re your menus,” he said before handing them to the two
Corbin frowned slightly, thanking Cas and taking the menu. He reached down, rubbing over Orion’s head a bit as he looked at the menu.
Cas walked away, leaving the two alone for now. Bastian began to look through the menu, resisting the urge to go straight to the liquor section
“So, what do you think you’re going to get?” Corbin asked, glancing up from his own menu to look at Bastian. He was probably just going to get some whiskey and a burger.
Bastian shrugged. "Dunno. Cas always makes good burgers, but the mini pizzas are good too," he said. "What about you?"
“Probably a burger and something to drink,” Corbin responded. He set the menu down, leaning back a bit as he looked at Bastian.
"Think I'll just do the same," Bastian said before setting his menu down as well. He rested his head in the palm of one hand, looking over at Corbin with a lazy smile
“Alright,” Corbin hummed. He heard a soft whine and looked down at Orion. He bent over, stroking Orion’s soft fur for a moment.
Cas came back a moment later, notepad in hand. "Alright, lovebirds, what'll it be?" he asked.
"One of your barbecue burgers and a glass of bourbon. Oh, and add extra bacon," Bastian answered
Lovebirds? Corbin considered correcting Cas for a moment but huffed and leaned back in his seat. “I’ll have the same but I’ll take whiskey instead of bourbon,” he said.
Cas nodded, jotting their orders down before walking off. Bastian watched him go, feeling slightly embarrassed about the "lovebird" comment
