(aight cool)
Bastian awoke the next morning, gasping and clawing at his throat. He shook slightly, tears pricking at the corners of his eyes. It took him a minute or so to remember where he was, though he still felt like shit. Damn nightmares had been acting up all week
Corbin gave a soft noise as he began to wake up, shifting a bit in bed. He rolled onto his back, the ache in his leg successfully waking him up. Orion stirred from where h was laying next to him, his tail beginning to thump.
Bastian reached for a pillow, holding it close to his chest. He felt horrible, and he was painfully alone. He sniffled slightly before reaching up to rub at his eyes. He was fine, he would survive. Just because he hadn't had any contact with another person since Corbin the day before didn't mean he was going to lay in bed and do nothing
Corbin got up after a moment, grunting as he did so. Orion hopped up as well, padding out of his bedroom. He followed the dog, letting him out into the fenced in backyard.
Eventually, Bastian just couldn't take being alone at the moment. He needed someone to talk to. Hell, just a phone call would be okay. So he reached over and grabbed his phone, dialing the first person he could find, which happened to be Corbin
Corbin was pouring himself a bowl of cereal when Bastian called. He looked over at his cellphone, answering it after a moment. “Hello?”
"H-Hey, Corbin," Bastian said with a sort of awkward chuckle. He cleared his throat quickly, realizing his voice was a bit shaky. "Sorry to bother you this early," he added
“Bastian, hey..” Corbin mumbled, putting the phone in the crook of his neck so he could talk while making breakfast. “It’s fine, I was already up.”
"Hey, um. Do you…" Bastian paused for a moment, trying to think of a good excuse to hide why he was calling. "Do you wanna come over some time? For like…dinner or something?"
“Come to your place?” Corbin asked, frowning to himself as he sat down at the kitchen table. Of course he thought that Bastian would try to seduce him or something when he came over.
"Yeah, just for…Just for like lunch or something," Bastian said, a hint of hopefulness coloring his tone. At this point he would do just about anything for Corbin, just so he would come over and he wouldn't have to be alone
“Yeah, I guess I could do that. What day were you thinking?” Corbin asked. He noticed that Orion was back inside, so he went and closed the back door.
"Maybe, um. Maybe today?" Bastian suggested a bit sheepishly. "I mean, it's totally okay if you're not interested, I get it," he added quickly
Corbin obviously noticed how Bastian’s tone sounded. Well, look who was so confident now. “No, today works good for me,” he answered.
"Okay, um. See you in a few then," Bastian said before hanging up. He almost immediately shoved his phone away from him before burying his face in his hands. "Fuck, I sounded like I was goddamn dying," he groaned
Corbin hung up and set the phone down on the table. He took his bowl of cereal, setting it on the kitchen table before he sat down. He picked up a spoon, taking a few quick bites.
(should we just skip to lunch or nah?)
Bastian had been running around his apartment cleaning for the past few hours. Even though he had cleaned up a bit, it still looked like a disaster. He was really trying not to resort to alcohol to calm his nerves, but it was getting more and more tempting as he ran around. Eventually he just gave up and put on something semi-presentable before getting in the car and heading to Corbin's house
Corbin didn’t bother getting dressed up too much, just wearing a tshirt, a pair of loose fitting jeans, tennis shoes, and his Navy jacket. He knew he would have to bring his crutch. He must have slept weird, because when he had woken up, his leg felt absolutely terrible.
Bastian eventually pulled up in front of Corbin's house. He had to take a minute to compose himself, just to make sure that when Corbin didn't see him he didn't freak out or something. Because that's what people do when they realize their boyfriend is a depressed demon, right?
Corbin heard a car pull up, and he glanced out the window, recognizing that it was Bastian’s. He whistled for Orion to come, and the dog padded over. He clipped Orion’s leash onto his harness, heading out the front door to go meet him.
Bastian took a deep breath before stepping out of the car. He put on his usual lazy smile as he waited for Corbin. "Looking good, hot stuff," he called with a small chuckle
Corbin gave a faint chuckle, shaking his head slowly. He walked over to the car, leaning most of his weight against the crutch.
Corbin pulled the door open for him, waiting for him to get into the car before getting in himself. He arched a brow at the way Corbin seemed to be limping more. "You okay?" he asked
