Zanna wanted so desperately to follow, but this wasn't her reckless side. She didn't have the combat skills. So she sat back down and sighed.
Vaughn was have shoved into a room not too far down the hall. “Now, Finley, how about I pay the favor for that little mishap?” The guard hissed before getting to work.
Artemis sighed. "We should have helped. Coulda ganged up on 'em."
"Yeah…we should have…" She sighed. "Alright people, show's over." Paige addressed the whole cafeteria before leaving. She stood outside the door, leaning against the wall.
"I would've," Zanna sighed, "But I'm not the right girl."
"Yeah, my pop probably wouldn't be so pleased when the school messages him to tell him his 'little lady' socked a guard in the nose."
"Wait do you know?" Zanna asked her.
"Know what?"
"About," she pointed to her head. Zanna's notes were pretty vague.
Paige picked her foot so it was against the wall. She crossed her arms, leaning her head back and sighing. What am I even doing here? This place is a load of crap.
"What Zanna? That isn't a very specific gesture." Artemis said.
"I have a mutli-personality disorder," Zanna sighed.
"Oh. Okay. Sorry I didn't catch on. No, didn't know."
"It's fine," Zanna responded, "I'm the nicer side. You came down when the mean one was here."
"Oh really? You didn't seem that mean." Artemis said.
"Well not mean. More intimidating and harsh."
Artemis nodded. "Didn't seem that way." She switched subjects. "Got any siblings?"
After a few minutes, Vaughn was shoved back into his room. He half collapsed on his bed, body aching with pain. His fingers gripped the sheets tightly as he tasted blood in his mouth. His lip must have been split.
"Just me," Zanna replied," Parents didn't live long enough for two."
Paige sighed, running her fingers through her hair. I wonder if Vaughn is okay… She laughed out loud. Wow, I made friends pretty quickly. Maybe this place really will change me.
"Oh. I'm so sorry."
(PIZZA gtg)
Vaughn rolled onto his stomach, ribs aching. He rested his head on the pillow, fingers still gripping the sheets. He tugged up his sleeve, looking at the tattoo, it being the name “Adeline” in little kid hand writing. There was a gash down his forearm that had marked into the ‘e’ at the end. He really wanted to cry, then.
(I want Paige to go help Vaughn but I want to give her more of a reason than 'because we're friends' because they aren't really yet…)
(She could be curious about what the guards did to people who were bad?)
