(I have two lacrosse games today so I might be gone for a little while)
(anyone on?)
(HI!)
(I am)
(hello! so what should happen next? we kinda need a plot)
(I'm back. Where were we?)
(Plot.)
(we talked about guards overhearing them? maybe that could convince the rest of them to try to break out)
(I’m down for it, bored rn so let’s get some action lmao)
(Should Artemis restate her question?)
(I just got back and I need to sort some things out so I might be on and off)
(Go on ahead @lavender, and okay)
"K. What's Harry Potter like?" Artemis asked. "I haven't read it."
Vaughn’s fingers drummed on his knee. He had no clue what they were talking about. He had no idea what Harry Potter was.
Paige felt herself zoning out. Her ride here had been long. She would have slept on the way, but her mother was complaining about who-knows-what the entire time. Paige yawned, leaning both her elbows against the table.
(Alright, I’m just going to have this wild guard stuff start lmao.)
Vaughn’s high slowly left him, and even though his muscles were still relaxed, his personality snapped back to being guarded again. What was he doing speaking with these people? “This is f*cking insane,” he said, pushing to his feet, the guards turning their attention towards him.
Paige glared at Vaughn. "Don't swe-" She saw the guards looking at the group. They started approaching. Sh**. She stood up casually, making a point of tying her hair back. If the guards tried to get her, she could easily run away.
Artemis stood up too. Maybe it was a coincidence. "Hey Paige, do they have a library here?"
"I think they do. We should check it out." Paige said rather loudly, trying to give herself a way to escape this mess.
A large guard stepped up to Vaughn, glaring down at him. Vaughn didn’t seem worried though, he just matched the guards glare with a sharp one of his own. “What did you just say, Finley?” The guard asked. He knew Vaughn’s last name, hinting that he was known to the guards, most likely for issues like this.
“I said that this place is f*cking insane,” he snapped in response. The guard growled and grabbed him roughly, pinning his arm behind his back sharply. “God, I’ve waiting to kick your sorry ass, but the other guards already called it,” the man hissed.
Vaughn didn’t answer, but did slam his elbow into the gut of the guard, causing him to double over. He turned and sent a roundhouse kick into the man’s ribs before shoving him onto the floor, hands on the man’s neck. A few of the others ran over, yanking at Vaughn to get him off, which they eventually did. He hoped the man would have bruises from it.
Paige watched Vaughn in shock, backing away slightly to remove herself from the situation. The whole cafeteria was watching Vaughn and the guards. Well, I know not to get on his bad side…
Vaughn was restrained, a wild look in his usually calm grey eyes. He was dragged to his feet as the guard got up, sending a rough punch into Vaughn’s stomach, causing him to grunt. “Keep pulling stunts like that, Finley, and I’ll cut that little tattoo off myself,” he hissed in a low tone.
Tattoo? Vaughn has a tattoo? I'm learning all kinds of sh** today. Paige stared Vaughn in the eyes as if asking if he needed help.
"You wanna go f*ckers?" Zanna taunted the guards. This was the route she was going with. No regrets.
Vaughn glanced at Avery, giving a discreet shake of his head. He didn’t need to drag others into his issues. “Come on, Finley, let’s go,” the first guard snapped, two others half dragging him from the cafeteria.
