"Oh, ok. Thanks," Arie said, looking towards where the boy had pointed. "Yeah, it looks like one."
She walked to the bathroom and found an open stall. After changing into the swimsuit, Arie walked out and went back to the pool. A few more people had gathered around the pool, but she avoided them and went back to her spot.
(wait, is everyone supposed to have abilities???? Cause in that case, Fawn can understand animals.)
(You don't have to, but you can)
While Charlotte was trying to find the source of the voices, she felt a strange presence close in on her. Before she could get hurt, Charlotte moved away and held Grim protectively in her arms. When she realized it was only a dog and its owner, she calmed down.
"Hi, I'm Fawn, and this is my dog, Rain," the girl, Fawn, looked apologetic as she introduced herself and her dog. "I'm sorry if she scratched you while trying to get to your cat."
Charlotte, now used to the dull pain in her head, smiled, accepting the apology. After all, it was a dog's nature to chase after a cat. Unfortunately for Rain, Grim wasn't scared of dogs.
"It's okay," she replied. "I'm Charlotte, this is Grim; it's nice to finally see someone. I feel like I've been walking in circles,"
"Nice to meet you Charlotte and Grim. Fawn says. And, yeah, me too, this place is huge."
Carro shifts uneasily, wondering why no one is looking at his direction. Frowning, he looks down at his…….legs..? Being invisible would explain things. He bolts, leaving a trail of slightly damp footprints.
Dis walks back inside. All in all, this place is great! But why were they here?
Charlotte smiled softly at Fawn once again, before turning around to continue her search.
“I feel like going in this direction would take us to a place where there are people,” she said, pointing towards the back direction. “Let’s go ahead and check to see if we find someone?”
Charlotte turned around to start walking, but the minute she did that, she felt someone collide when her and send her sprawling to the floor. Charlotte heard Grim’s growl as she winced, her head throbbing, pain searing through it. She felt dizzy as she looked to see who collided with her, but she was met with nothing but air and Fawn looking at her worriedly.
"Oh my gosh!!! Are you ok?! What happened???" Fawn says, both confused and very worried.
Fawn was immediately by Charlotte’s side, her face displaying worry and confusion.
“Oh my gosh!” she exclaimed. “Are you okay?! What happened?!”
Charlotte winced, but accepted Fawn’s hand as Fawn reached to help Charlotte up.
“I don’t know?” Charlotte replied, biting her lip. “Someone… something just collided with me…? Could it be…?” her eyes widened in alarm and fear, but Grim’s loud mewls took away the girls’ attention. He was rubbing against her leg, mewling in clear worry. Charlotte smiled and rubbed his fur.
“I’m okay, buddy,”
"Could it be what?" Fawn says, wondering Charlotte what she was going to say before she had cut herself off.
"You two need a hand?" Says Dis, approaching these two girls. "You alright?"
"That would be nice, we're not quite sure what just happened, she just fell down out of nowhere and said that someone collided with her. I believe her, But I'm not quite sure what did bump into her.
"They have first aid here, we can get her in there, an attendant will take care of her if you guys want." This was strange as all hell.
"That would work, thanks." Fawn says
"Follow me." He says, the poor thing. He leads them into the building.
“Follow me,” the guy said, leading Charlotte and Fawn into a building. Charlotte was still confused, lost with her head aching. The voices seemed unbearable now, and she couldn’t help but think no one else could hear them. If they could, then it seems they were used to it.
“Is this place haunted?” Charlotte finally broke the silence. When she got confused glances, she elaborated. “That… thing I bumped into; no human can go invisible. I don’t believe in ghosts but I will don’t have any other explanation. I know something crashed into me. I felt it!”
"Far as I know, the only things that hasunt this place are the service crew, but they're not monsters." He said, laying a comforting hand on her shoulder. "But you never know."
Charlotte didn’t feel entirely better, but she couldn’t lie and say she didn’t feel safer than before. Then she realized something.
“Oh! I forgot to introduce myself,” Charlotte looked embarrassed. “I really should be working on my manners. I’m Charlotte— this is Grim, my cat.” Charlotte pointed to the cat on her head, smiling softly. “I’m from—“ Charlotte cut herself off, frowning. But she shrugged it off and looked at the male next to her. “I’m glad Fawn and I found you. I heard voices but I wasn’t sure anyone else was here.”
"I was with someone earlier, dunno where she is now. I'm sorry Ms. Charlotte, I wish I could help." He led them to the first aid clinic. "This one, Charlotte, is hurt."
Maybe I should talk to people, thought Arie as she stood up and started to walk towards the small group that had gathered near the pool.
“Ms Charlotte?” Charlotte laughed. “That’s too formal. You can call me Charlotte. Ms just makes me feel old.”
As soon as Charlotte said that, they seemed to reach the clinic.
“This one, Charlotte, is hurt,” the male, who still hadn’t introduced himself, said to a medic.
“It’s just a headache,” Charlotte said, smiling softly. “I just need a painkiller and I’ll be fine.”
The medic nodded and browsed through a drawer and took out a small bottle, filled a glass with water and handed it to Charlotte. Charlotte took the medicine and sighed in relief after she drank the water. It felt nice. This seemed like a long day.
“Thank you,” she told the man. “For getting us here.” She pointed to Fawn and herself. “And for helping us.”
"Well, then Charlotte, my name is Dis, and while I don't work here, I encourage you guys to call me if you need to." He said, as he prepared to leave.
Arie watched as the group walked into a building, then decided to follow after them. When she reached the building, she opened the door and walked in. What is this place? she thought, not for the first time.
