I took a bite of the eggs.
"ov a l e g m g m a n" I shook my head, "No, I don't really know anyone outside of you guys." I thought about if someone might recognize me in the streets of this world, but from the history I remembered, I doubted that.
Yuki nods profoundly, but Celia slaps her fists on the table, standing up with that same energy she's never lost.
"Well, it's time to go out and look for answers, right?" She exclaims, grabbing her bag and sun hat. Yuki stands up with a sense of still-waking-up as he puts on his boots and coat.
"We can take the scenic route to the kingdom and see if the place where we found you will have any answers as well." Yuki muttered as the three of you make your way out the door and into the cluster of trees.

Celia and Yuki started to grow quiet due to running out of things to say, and you start to grow lost in thought. You're watching the trees bristle in the wind, thinking back to the few things you have that might answer what is going on. You'd watch a few birds fly by in the trees and chirp whatever song they must be singing. Something was off about those birds, but you couldn't seem to place what it was. The leaves and branches on the ground started to grow thicker, your terrain becoming more difficult to walk in. Yuki said this was the scenic route, but there doesn't seem to be much to look a-
Upon snapping back to reality, you realize Yuki and Celia are nowhere in sight. How long had it been since you wandered away from them? Have they noticed yet? Are they looking for you?
"Yuki? Celia!" You call out, the realization and concern settling into your heart. Where are they? Where are you?
Who are you?
While calling out for Yuki and Celia, the fear grows more urgent, and you start to run, forgetting that there are logs and rocks hiding under the leaves.
Your foot catches on a log sticking out from a nearby tree, which sends you flying forward to the ground.
"Hello?"
You hear a voice somewhere above you, but you know it's neither Yuki's nor Celia's. Sitting up, you tilt your head in the direction of the voice to see something you could have never expected.
"I can hear your breathing, please identify yourself."
He mutters, causing you to realize the dirty blindfold that covered his face.
i faint because hes a fucking sp1d3r
My eyes widen. Answer the guy- thing- whatever. "I am definitely not on Earth," I choke out instead, scrambling up to my feet. There's holes in my leggings now, and puffy scratches underneath.
He towered over me, but his height wasn't what had instilled fear in me. Long hair cascades over his chest, and a spider body takes place of what would've been his legs. I don't remember hating spiders, but something tells me they were never half-human or this huge.
"I'm Jenny."
ignore the incorrect proportions ok
He pauses, raising his arms for a moment, before lowering them back down.
"Who are you, Jenny?" He calls out, clearly holding back walking forward as his demeanor conflicted with his appearance. He may be a towering half-spider hybrid, but he did not seem to acknowledge that. Instead, he almost slouched while fiddling his hands. He patiently awaited a response.
What? What is going on?
I brush out the leaves in my hair. "Who am I? Who are you?" I said defensively. I didn't even know where I was, much less of who I am.
Your deranged confusion warrants a laugh from him as he presents a friendly smile.
"Oh, right, I guess you could say I forgot."
He places a hand on his chest as a gesture towards himself.
"My name is…" He pauses, his smile starting to fade, but then quickly grins again and continues. "Kaiholo." He pauses another moment, as if waiting for something. After nothing happens, he straightens his back.
"I don't suppose you've seen anyone like me around, have you?"
I raise an eyebrow. i love ur laugh. th a n k u se n p a i
sorry
I raise an eyebrow, wondering what any of his actions meant. I take a step closer upon realizing he didn't seem to mean any harm. Hopefully.
"I don't suppose you've seen anyone like me around, have you?" he asks. I think about my answer and shrug.
"Considering this is the first time I remember being outside, no, I have not seen anyone like you." I add, "Can I call you Kai, for short?"
Kaiholo nods at your response, not bothering to ask about what it could mean.
"Can I call you Kai, for short?" You mutter, earning another chuckle from him as he nods his head yet again.
"As long as I can call you Jen, for short."
Suddenly, you hear an almost distant yelling.
"Jenny!" It's Celia.
She's nearly in tears as she runs up to you, wrapping her arms around you, Yuki following close behind.
"Are you okay? Are you hurt? Your pants are all scratched up, did something happen?" Celia asked you tons of questions as Yuki shoots Kaiholo a concerned glance.
"What's your name?" Yuki calls out to Kaiholo, holding up his hand in a threatening pose. Almost as if Yuki was ready to fight Kaiholo, except Yuki didn't clench his fists. He held his hand out and open.
"As long as I can call you Jen, for short."
I open my mouth to respond, but am interrupted by the sound of Celia's voice. I nearly lose my balance when the girl crashes into me, shooting seven million questions at once. I try to reassure her that I am fine and I merely tripped.
"What's your name?" Yuki demanded to spider boy, while doing some odd thing with his
hands.
"Woah, woah, woah, hey, chill. This is Kaiholo. I don't think he plans on hurting anyone," I explain, frantically throwing my hands in front of Yuki. "What are you doing?" I squint my eyes at his strange position, my tone more curious than aggressive.
Yuki's moderately confused and wary expression gradually softens as he looks at you.
"Do you know him?" Yuki utters to you, Celia finally calming down and quieting to listen to your answer as Kaiholo seems to grow just as confused.
"I suppose I could be asking the same thing," Kaiholo started, turning to face you.
I exhaled, holding back almost a giggle at this comedic situation. "Kai, the boy is Yuki and the girl is Celia. I just met Yuki and Celia yesterday," I turn towards Yuki. "and I met Kaiholo just now."
I run my fingers through my hair. The tension dies down a bit which allows me explain to Kai. "Listen, these two found me laying in the forest unconscious, and took me in. My issue is I sort of have some type of amnesia or something, so I don't exactly know what happened to me or anything really." I refrain from telling him any more, for fear he turned out to be evil or something, but I doubt it.
"Yes," Kaiholo begins, slowly growing more relaxed in his muscles. "That sounds like quite the dilemma."
Yuki still seemed cautious. Celia, on the other hand, was bouncing with energy.
"Where are you from? What's your species called? Why do you have a blindfold over your eyes?" Kaiholo hesitated, but the tension in the area started to ease.
"Maybe we could discuss this at Sperro Terram?" Yuki suggested, gesturing toward the direction of the kingdom.
Kaiholo turned to you.
"Jen, what do you think?"
Celia starts her question ramble again, but to Kai this time. Her escalating energy compared to Kai's hesitation makes me chuckle. All of the three have such different personalities, but it was quite refreshing.
"Maybe we could discuss this at Sperro Terram?" Yuki asks. I start to get excited as I daydream of how the kingdom will look and the types of people I'll be able to see there. Are there more humans? I glance at Celia, realizing I never asked about her special trait.
Kai looks to me, "Jen, what do you think?" My heart flutters upon hearing my nickname, but I'm not sure why.
I nod excitedly. "That is a great idea!" We all begin our journey towards Sperro Terram. As I scan the forest, I wonder if there are strange animals as well. "So, who's the king or queen?"
As the four of you make your way down the forest, Celia and Yuki are especially careful to keep an eye on you.
"So, who's the king or queen?"
Celia beams as she puffs her chest out proudly.
"Her name is Myst, she's one of our best friends."
"Interesting…" Kaiholo muttered under his breath, quiet enough that he didn't even care if people heard him.
"She's made it so far, she's the perfect person to lead Sperro Terram, and she's been really working to improve the kingdom. It used to be falling apart and everyone there had fallen in their struggles, but Myst has built them back up again and it's looking better and better everyday!"
You didn't even realize how much time had passed until you notice the gates to the kingdom approaching your view. Celia squeals and runs over to the gates, waiting impatiently for the rest of you to arrive.
"Best friends with the queen? Damn," I mutter as Celia runs ahead of us. The guards nod their heads to the girl and open the gates to the town square.
It isn't as magnificent as I expected, there is obvious signs of mistreatment among the buildings and the streets. The castle was on the smaller side, and would probably have looked scarier had it been a cloudy day. However, as I peer closer there are patches of newness that indicates Myst is really enforcing the bettering of the kingdom. Not to mention, all the citizens look quite lively laughing and walking around the place. Some of them seem to be like Kai, half-human half-animal hybrids. Others just were not human at all. Some of them simply look human. Nonetheless, they all are relatively happy.
You look back at Kai, who for some odd reason seems a little off. At least, off from what the past half hour of your knowledge about him was. While he did fidget when you two first met, he seemed to be fidgeting a bit more now as he followed the sound of Yuki's shoes, hoping not to lose any of you in the crowded area.
Yuki turned to you.
"Does any of this look familiar to you?" He questioned, knowing the answer was evident compared to your reaction to the grass, but desperate for a hopeful answer nevertheless.
I shrug, slightly irritated by the question. "Nope." I know he just wants me to recognize something, but it was getting frustrating trying to think about whether I remember a view or not. I just want to enjoy the new surroundings - even if they might not be new. Where are we even headed? Did Yuki ever say where he was going specifically?
I take a deep breath and fall in (8) step with Kai, finally mustering up the courage to talk to him. Despite his awkward demeanor, it was still intimidating to say the least. I gently touch his forearm. "Are you okay?"
88w88 im so sorry im done bye
Yuki sighs at your dismissal behavior and turns away, eyes searching for Celia as he catches up to wherever she ran off to.
Kaiholo had nearly slowed to a stop by the time you got his attention. When you did, he jumped slightly, but it seemed more like him snapping back into reality. He gave you a gentle smile and half-nod as his hands drop to his sides.
"I like to think that I am, yeah." He mutters, lowering his head in order for you to hear him over the crowds. "I don't suppose you know anything about it, do you?"
I watch Yuki turn away, telling myself I'd make it up to him later. After all, I am temporarily living in his cabin, I'm bound to talk to him again. But, this strange hybrid guy, although I'm unsure why he came with us, I don't know if I will see him again.
Eventually Kai responds to me, after seemingly spacing out. "I like to think that I am, yeah. I don't suppose you know anything about it, do you?"
I can't tell what he means by that. I assume he means his well-being. I purse my lips and say, "I probably would know if your character was developed. Tell me about yourself." The streets get more crowded as we got deeper into the town square, where more shops and stores begin to pop up.
Kaiholo jumps back as you almost feel his heart skip a beat. He inched closer back to you and bent so you could hear him whisper, "Are you still you?"
Though the blindfold covered half his face, the concern and sincerity in his voice sent a specific intention to the question. Though he didn't seem to be using vision, you felt that he was holding his breath as if to look behind his back to make sure people weren't staring. He almost seemed scared.
"she says that I am but I think shes lying"
IM KIDDING THATS NOT MY RPELY
"Are you still you?"
I think about the question carefully. "l hope I'm still me. It would be a shame if I wasn't. All that work to be myself and I'm not even me?" I scoff. I notice we're approaching a diner, and my brain turns into a starved dog. I don't know how long it's been since breakfast, but after so much running and walking and falling, I felt like I needed another energy boost.
