"Probably. She–" Harper was cut off by Kasey looking up at the two and giving them both a look.
"You're both loud. And I'm tired and hungry," she sighed, picking up her burger even though she was still half-asleep. "Thanks, Liam."
“No problem Kasey.” Liam said with a chuckle as he finished off his own burger.
Kasey sighed before sleepily biting into her burger. She chewed slowly, obviously still half-sleeping.
Harper chuckled and shook his head, picking up his plate after he finished. "Can I take your plate, Liam?"
“Oh yeah, sure. Thanks, Harper. I can clean up if you want me too, it’s no trouble.” Liam offered, rubbing at his neck.
"Nah, I've got it," Harper assured him with a shrug. He bent down as he picked up Liam's plate to speak in his ear, "Keep her company. Make her laugh or something; she needs it."
Liam nodded at Harper before sitting down next to Kasey, “How are you feeling?” He asked, biting his lip a little.
Kasey glanced over at Liam with a soft smile. "I'm really just tired and hungry. I can't really feel any pain in my leg right now, but I'm sure it's just the pain meds. I'll bet that I'll be able to feel it tomorrow."
Liam nodded slowly and returned the smile, “Okay, Do you want me to stay here tonight? I’m sure Mortem will be alright without me for a while, blasted cat… taking all my time away from you.”
Kasey chuckled and set her burger down for a moment. "If you want to stay, I won't stop you. But you could bring Mortem over and we could see how well our cats get along."
“Mortem will probably bully Quake the old bastard but sure, why not. I’ll get him soon.” Liam said, chuckling.
"Sounds good," Kasey said with a smile, a hint of laughter in her voice. "Now, can I eat my burger? It's hard to do that with you asking me a million questions and making me laugh."
Liam grinned at her, "Yes yes, I'll go get my stupid cat then." He pressed a kiss to her head before sliding off the chair.
"I'll leave the door unlocked for you. Just come right in when you're back," Kasey said, giving him a smile as she picked her burger back up.
"Righty-o." Liam called before leaving the apartment. He unlocked his door and found Mortem already there. He sighed a little and decided to feed him before going back to Kasey's.
Kasey had just a couple of bites left of her burger when Quake trotted over and wound herself around Kasey's legs. She chuckled and tore off a small piece of burger and fed it to the cat.
After about fifteen minutes, Liam grabbed Mortem and walked back over to Kasey's, opening the door and putting his cat down, "I'm back, and Mortem's with me."
Quake quickly jumped up onto Kasey's lap when she noticed the other cat, and she cowered there, giving him a fierce glare. Kasey chuckled and petted her with one hand as she held her burger in the other.
"Welcome back. Judging from Quake's initial reaction, this should be interesting," Kasey said in greeting, smiling at Liam before eating the last bite of her burger.
Liam sighed and walked over to Kasey with a small laugh, "Yup, hopefully they get along."
Mortem trotted over to where the two were, looking up at Quake from his position on the floor. After a few moments of staring, the black cat rolled over onto his back lazily.
"Mmhm," Kasey hummed in agreement around her mouthful of food.
Quake continued to give Mortem a look for a while before deciding that he probably wasn't worth it. She jumped down to the floor, lightly landing on her toes beside Mortem's head.
Mortem rolled onto his stomach before standing and stretching. Quake was so small compared to the older cat she could probably walked under him. Well, Mortem walked over Quake.
Quake crouched under Mortem, looking up at his belly warily. Why was she suddenly underneath him?
Kasey chuckled and gathered her plate, moving to stand and put it away. She leaned on the table for support for a moment, hoping she could make it to the sink herself.
Liam looked over at Kasey with a small frown, “You goo? Need me to put that away for you?”
"I'm fine," Kasey assured him, shooting him a quick smile before limping over to the sink.
Harper was still there, washing dishes from earlier. He glanced up when he heard Kasey walk in and smiled at her.
"Hey, sis. Glad to see you're awake," he greeted her. "Just set your plate down here, I'll take care of it."
Kasey returned his smile and did as he said before starting back over to where Liam was. "Thanks, Harper."
Liam had sat down in the floor, Quake in his lap and Mortem by his feet. He was humming quietly and stopped when he saw Kasey and smiled at her, “All good?”
Kasey gave him a thumbs up as she limped back over to him.
"She likes you," she mused, glancing at Quake in his lap.
