Kasey sighed and went to her room, where she closed the door and slid down it. She bit her lip as she closed her eyes, pulling her knees up to her chest.
Liam was upset because of her, and she didn't know how to fix it. If only she hadn't pulled away. Or maybe she should have pulled away sooner.
With a groan, she wrapped her arms around her legs and hit her face in them.
Mortem greeted Liam when he opened the door, no doubt looking for food. He quickly fed his cat and grabbed his guitar, wanting something to distract himself.
He sat on the couch and began to play and sing, trying not to think about what had happened. He gone to far and had ruined the morning. Stupid, he was stupid.
(Aw. The poor babies.
I came up with a ship name… Lasey.)
Harper had been awake through the entire thing, simply laying on the couch as he waited for himself to wake up more. Thus, he had heard what had happened between them, as he could now hear his sister crying softly in her room. As much as he wanted to comfort her, he k recall she needed at the moment was some time alone. As for himself, he was going to the pet store.
(Lasey… I like it)
Liam stopped halfway through his first song when he recalled another he wanted to sing instead,
"Why'd it go wrong
When it should have gone right
Why do we run
When there's no need to fight
I can't go on if I'm not alone
Talking to you
You never knew
All the moutians I'd climb
When I'm with you
There's no passing the time
All of my dreams
Had been relised and taken away"
(bows over-exaggeratedly Why thank you.)
Kasey eventually picked herself up off of the floor to curl up on her bed. She stared at her bedside lamp, trying to focus on anything except the disaster that had just happened. Focused as she was, she didn't hear Harper leave.
Harper had been thinking about what he was about to do since yesterday, when he had found Ginger. He hoped Kasey would appreciate it, at least.
"Oh why do I
Pray
Oh why do I, why do I
Stay When the suns so far
Away
Oh well I hope this is my last day
Blame it on me
Things that I never did
One hundred and three keep me lying in bed"
Liam gave up on the song, even though it was one of his favourites. He sat back on the couch, his guitar resting on his lap as he rubbed his face.
Kasey, exhausted and just plain done, fell asleep. She tossed and turned, her dreams plagued by memories of old fights and new ones that her mind imagined.
Harper walked into the pet store, the most reputable one in town, and walked over to his sister's favorite part of the store. He looked at the pets that were there for a moment, until he saw one that he couldn't look away from. Waving an employee over, he asked to buy it, and was soon walking out with it in a carrier.
Liam placed his guitar to the side and rubbed his eyes. Walking to the bathroom, he took his contacts out, showered, changed and then put his glasses on. Once done, he walked to the kitchen and made himself some coffee.
(so I just had an idea, maybe Matt could be the villain and kidnap Liam to get to Kasey?)
(I was wondering if that was where you were going with the hints to him being tied to the fire. Well, him being a villain, anyway. That sounds good! Kasey will be ticked.)
Harper stepped into the apartment with the carrier in one hand and his keys in the other. Setting the carrier down for a moment, he stuffed his keys into his pocket. He gently lifted the pet from the box and carried it to Kasey's room.
Knowing she was sleeping, he just opened the door and placed the animal beside her. Noticing she was sleeping fitfully, he gently rubbed her arm, humming softly. Only what she relaxed and placed her hand on the furry back of the animal did he leave.
After a few moments, there was a knock on Liam's door. He frowned but walked over and opened it. His frowned deepened when he noticed the look on Matt's face.
"Matt. What are yo-" Before Liam could finished his sentence, he felt something collide with his head and the world blacked out.
When Liam awoke, his legs and arms were tied down to a chair and he was in the middle of a warehouse. Matt walked in, a smug grin on his face, followed by two rather well built men.
Kasey woke up about an hour later, and she moved to kiss the top of the cat's head out of habit. Only after she had done that did she realize that this cat was smaller and tortoiseshell, rather than ginger.
She gaped at the kitten, a hand moving to cover her mouth as tears came to her eyes. Harper must have gotten it for her to help with losing Ginger, and it was perfectly timed to help with what had happened with Liam, as well.
After stroking the kitten for a couple of minutes, Kasey decided to call Liam.
"Liam!" Matt clasped his hands together and walked forward, "How nice of you to join us."
"What the hell Matt?! What's going on?" Liam wriggled in the chair, trying to wriggle out of the rope and Matt tutted.
"Now now, let's not be hasty, everything will be explained when your girlfriend notices you're missing and comes to rescue you."
Tapping her foot impatiently, Kasey waited for Liam to pick up the phone. When all she got was his voicemail inbox, she left him a message.
Gosh, I hope he's not mad at me. Why didn't he answer his phone? He always answers his phone…
"What do you mean? What has any of this got to do with Kasey?" Liam asked, glaring at Matt.
"On the contrary, it has everything to do with her. The only reason your here is so she will come and get you." Matt replied, shrugging.
Kasey stood and started to pace. She didn't know why Liam wasn't answering his phone, and it wasn't like there were only a few options. It could have been any number of things.
What if he really was mad at her? Or what if is phone was just dead? Maybe he was hurt! Or maybe he was just asleep.
With her mind in utter turmoil, Kasey stopped her pacing and sat back down on her bed. She looked at the kitten that had fallen asleep on her pillow and gently stroked it.
"What am I supposed to do, now?" she asked. "And you need a name…"
Liam frowned, “You’re insane! Kasey wouldn’t come get me, why would she? She’s not a superhero!”
This set Matt laughing, “You really don’t know? Ah ha! This will be good when she gets here!”
He was insane. Utterly insane and Liam didn’t know what to do. He couldn’t get out and was trapped with an insane man. He was in so much trouble.
(So… Maybe Matt should send Kasey/Kinesie a note telling her to come get Liam? Or they could call her or video call her or something? Idk, but she wouldn't know what happened to him otherwise.)
Kasey hummed in thought as she stroked her new kitten. Too many thoughts, so little space to think them.
Suddenly, she snapped her fingers and looked down at the cat. "I know what I'll call you. I'll call you… Quake, after my favorite character from Agents of SHIELD."
(Ooft, video call sounds cool)
Matt picked up Liam’s phone and used Liam’s finger print to unlock it, “Hey!”
Matt tutted and scrolled through his contacts until he found Kasey’s contact and FaceTimed her.
“Who are you calling?” Liam asked.
“Kasey.”
Kasey had lain back down on her bed, petting Quake as she read a book. What else was she supposed to do? She didn't have any classes, and she had the day off of work.
When her phone rang and she saw Liam's name on the screen, she jumped and fumbled to answer it.
"Liam?" she answered frantically.
Matt laughed, “Well, kind of. He’s here Alright.”
He turned so Liam was in the camera, “I haven’t hurt him, yet.”
“Yet, what the hell does th-“ He was cut off by one of the men from before placing a hand over his mouth to stop him talking.
Kasey narrowed her eyes at the man onscreen. "Who are you, and what are you doing with him?" she demanded, sitting up straight.
“Let’s just say I’m someone who’s very interested in you, Kinesie. I know you’re dating Liam and I want you so to get to you, I got to him.” Matt said shrugging.
Liam’s eyes widened at the name Matt used, No. No it can’t be.
"What are you talking about? If I was Kinisie, don't you think I'd already be there?" Kasey bluffed, raising an eyebrow. "You better let him go, or so help me, I'll find a way to get to you."
Matt let out a low laugh, “Don’t play dumb, you had no idea. If you don’t meet me at the warehouse outside of the city in an hour well,” He turned to Liam, “You can say goodbye to him.”
Liam struggled in the ropes and against the man holding him.
Kasey glared at the man. If looks could kill, she'd have burned a hole through his skull by now.
"I'll see what I can do," she clipped.
