Eclipse frowned slightly at the tang of blood on the other's scent, but it wasn't his… he wasn't sure what to make of it, but he figured that just for now, he should shift back and actually talk to the other. Sighing, he shifted back, his clothes still intact thanks to an enchantment his mother had taught him before she had died. Carefully he stood, stepping away from the bushes. "Nik?"

Nik jumped, turning around with a hand resting on his sword hilt. He dropped the hand when he saw that it was Eclipse. "Hey." He greeted. He felt… awkward. He had had relationships before. Some purely physical, others emotional, but…not a soulmate. Especially not a soulmate who was…well. The prince of Tesh. It was a strange feeling. He bit his lower lip as he looked up at the taller boy.
Eclipse noted the other's nervousness, feeling nervous himself. "So.. I know I suggested this.. but right now I'm clueless.." he said softly, "I also have zero experience with relationships.." he admitted quietly, trying not to show how nervous he was around the other, and more or less failing.
Nik laughed softly. "Mm. I don't know…what to do now. I've had relationships before, but… obviously you're my soulmate, so that's uh…that's different." He replied, shaking his head a little. "So. I really don't know."
Eclipse hummed quietly, "True. But at least you know how relationships work… thanks to my dad I've never even had a friend…" he sighed, looking away, "But at least both of us are clueless."

"No, most of my relationships involved illicit meetings by moonlight and a lot of fucking." Nik replied with a shrug, leaning against the tree. "I don't really have a clue how to operate an actual relationship. You wanna fuck, I can do that. Whether top or bottom, I'm good either way. You want me to love you…that's harder." He looked up at the sky, golden eyes flashing in the sunlight.
(Yup lol. Though I think Nik may have just ruined the mood XD)
Eclipse looked over at him blankly, "Guess I should mention that I have zero experience there either." he said softly, not seeming to really give a fuck. "Though we really should try to be more than just fuck buddies…" he hummed quietly, staring off into space.

Nik blinked. "I…wasn't suggesting fuck buddies." He replied slowly. "I was just making a statement. I mean…I'll sleep with you if that's what you want, but…we shouldn't. At least not yet. Politically, it wouldn't be a good idea for us to just sleep with each other right away." He shrugged.
"Let's leave politics out of this…." said Eclipse softly, "And I wasn't suggesting that either," he hummed, "Besides, as far as politics go I'm already screwed over by this whole thing, so let's just not go there." his mind went back to the day his mother died, and the look in his father's eyes when he saw their marks.
"Alright." Nik caught the look in the other man's eyes. "Hey. It'll be fine, okay? Eventually. I mean, think about it this way. Even if your father isn't happy about it, he can't change it. And, since you and I are soulmates, there's a good possibility of a marriage, which means the two countries would be combined under one flag anyway. He'll have to see eventually that that's what could very well happen."
Eclipse nodded, "That's what I'm worried about.." he said softly, "He'd probably murder me before he let me marry you.." he sighed, "I kinda wish this war had never started.. then maybe my father would actually care about me." he sighed, leaning back against another tree trunk, staring at the forest floor.

Nik shrugged a little. "If this war had never started, then a lot of things would be different." He replied. He looked over at Eclipse, studying him for a long moment. "But we'll be okay." He ran a hand through his hair, letting out a soft breath.
"Will we though?" he asked softly, looking over at the other, "By the way, speaking of fathers, how is your's gonna take this?" he asked, changing the subject.
Nik blinked. "Dad…" He sighed softly. "He wanted me to marry this girl from one of the southern kingdoms, but…I don't think he'd make me marry her now that I've found you. I'll talk to him later about it, though." Nik tugged on the sleeves of his shirt, fidgeting a little. He wasn't sure what to say or do.
Eclipse hummed, trying to think of something to say. "Do you wanna play a game of twenty questions?" he asked, slipping down to the ground and gesturing for him to sit too.
Nik nodded a little. "Sure." He lowered himself down carefully, setting his cane by his side. He ran a hand through his hair again. "Want me to go first, or do you want to?" He asked, folding his hands in his lap and looking at Eclipse.
"You can" said Eclipse quietly, settling himself cross-legged on the ground, wondering what he'd ask first.
Nik nodded, and thought for a long moment. "Alright. Uhm…" He trailed off, still thinking. "What's your favorite thing to do?" He asked, looking over at Eclipse with slightly raised eyebrows. He wondered what his father was doing, for a moment.
"That's a hard one…" he said softly, "Probably when I get left alone long enough to let loose.." he hummed, not sure if he should tell the other he was a shifter, but currently deciding against it.
Nik raised a single eyebrow. "I'm…kind of wondering what you mean by that, but alright." He replied with a soft chuckle. He shifted again, scratching his ear for a moment, then dropping his hand back down. "So. What's the question for me?" He asked, looking at Eclipse with his eyebrows raised.
"Favourite food?" he asked, figuring he'd go with the basics, rather than try to do anything abstract, also then he'd have something to use so he could make an attempt at romance, hopefully.
Nik blinked. "Oh. Anything sweet, really, but especially chocolate." he replied with a quick smile. He stretched a little. He knew he didn't really look like the type of person to have a sweet tooth, but have one he did.
Eclipse smiled, "Noted" he said, feeling more relaxed then he had in weeks. "Your turn" he said, waiting for the other to ask another question.
(I almost wonder if we should just have the camp be attacked within the next few posts, and have the pair run back to help, and get caught that way…)
Nik thought for a long moment. "Hm…what's your favorite drink?" he asked, looking over at Eclipse with a soft smile. He cocked his head a little. He ran his fingers over the crow's head on the cane, feeling the grooves in the metal.
