Cyrus looked down.
"He didn't want to have to say goodbye…" he said quietly, his voice starting to crack a little, "Of course he made it quick…"
He started to leave the room, a gloom hanging over him as he went. Part of him wanted to be confident in his friend, but the other part knew that this might be the last time he saw Uriah, and he didn't want that.
(What time of year is it?)
(I mean it could be Katya's.)
Esmae walked into the cafeteria and stood in line. The eyes around the room gave her disapproving looks. Esmae was well known around here already for causing a wreckess, but she didn't care. There was one kid who waved to her and patted the seat next to him. Aaron. With a smile and her food she went and sat. Although something felt off today.
(It's August, the leaves havent turned orange yet)
Uriah felt as if he was dying inside as the car drove away. Sparrow taught him well, he just hoped he wouldn't disappoint any of them while on the mission. "Relax you still have about two hours before I drop you off. Let's just hope you can survive the walk there." The car driver laughed, and Uriah laughed as well, but it was faked. How he could laugh at a time like this?
Esmae was done and waved Aaron off as she went to look for the other kids, mostly Vida. Vida heard all of it, while Esmae got upset and walked off.
Katya sat down at an empty table. She let out a quiet breath as she poked at her food with her fork.
Luna inhaled as she pulled her bow back and exhaled with each fired arrow. She continued doing it until she felt herself completely calmed down. As she left the training room driped in sweat she had a funny feeling this would become a common occurrence.
Sparrow left the room and went to go find the kids, she needed to get her mind off the whole Uriah situation and decided to present the kids with their weapons.
Esmae wandered around and was about to leave the cafeteria when she saw Katya. "Hey." She sat and fiddled with her fingers. It was weird talking to Katya since they didn't like each other much.
"Hey," Katya responded looking up at Esmae while stabbing her food, "How are you?"
"I'm good…. I guess." Esmae wasn't exactly sure how she felt at the moment. "I'm looking for Vida. The adults had a talk about two days ago and I left in the middle of it, so I don't know what they talked about." She laid her hands on top in the table and looked Katya in the eyes. "So, have you seen her?" A bad feeling rose up in her, she knew something was going on, but she didn't know what.
Katya shook her head and sighed, "I haven't seen her since this morning. Did it have to do with why Uriah left earlier?"
Nathan looked up at her arrival and made a face. "You are still mean."
Esmae ignored Nathan's comment, she didn't have time to deal with children. She had no idea he left. "Uriah left?" It was clear where he was going. "So they decided to send him in as a spy after all." Something stirred in her chest, but she didn't know what it was.
(Should I write what Uriah is doing or no?)
Katya let out a short laugh at Nathan's comment, "What do you mean as a spy? Is he going to that other place?"
Esmae gave Katya and Nathan. "He's going to Black Claw to get information." Usually she would say something back, but while she's been here she realized she has been acting like a child, being older means acting mature, no matter what anyone says about you.

Uriah watched as the trees went by the car. It had been almost two hours since he left, which means it's almost time for him to get ready for a walk. "Well it was nice talking to you Sir." The driver did most of the talking, mostly just complaining about his life. "Yeah, yeah, same." The car came to a stop and Uriah got out quickly before the driver could say more. Opening the trunk he grabbed all his bags and headed out not looking back.
Katya looked at Esmae wide eyed, "He can't do that! It's not safe!" she had an empty worry in her tone. She frowned slightly, "So that's why everyone's so weird today."
"He can do whatever he wants, he's an adult." There was a bit of hurt and frustration in her voice, although she didn't mean for it to come out that way. "They are all stupid. He's going to die in there and he probably knows it as well."
Katya stood up her hands slamming down loudly on the table, "Then we need to go and help him! We can't sit here and do nothing!"
"And what are we supposed to do, leave? Everyone here looks at us like children and they watch us carefully, they would never let us leave. And if Panther catches us, we will get a punishment worse than death." Katya was being rash, they needed to think about this a little more. "We need to gather everyone else and have a talk." Esmae stood. "And maybe don't speak so loudly about it."
Sparrow came into the cafeteria and smiled "there you guys are. I have something for you." She said to the kids
Katya was frowning heavily as she crossed her arms before relaxing as she looked at Sparrow, "What do you mean 'have something for us'?"
Esmae looked up at Sparrow and raised an eyebrow. "Alright, what is it?" She was curious as to what Sparrow would give them, but knowing her it was probably weapons, since that's one of her specialties.
"Follow me to my workshop." She grinned.
Nathan frowned and looked at his bread sadly. He picked it up and shoved it in his mouth before getting off the table
