"Yeah…" Cyrus sighed, "I'm only very terrified of what could've happened to him."
"Yeah…" Cyrus sighed, "I'm only very terrified of what could've happened to him."
Luna spotted Cyrus and Sparrow and made her ways toward them, "W-we got a letter from Uriah. H-he made it there and nothing seems to have happened yet."
Cyrus let out a breath.
"Oh, thank god…"
He covered his face with one hand to realize he was trembling a little.
"You heard from Uriah?" Esmae stumbled out of the room wide eyed and covered in sweat. She realized this was the first time she had spoken to any of them in a while and looked to the ground. "I'm glad he's okay." Her heart ached. She hadn't realized it then, but now, now she knows how important he was to her. Never giving up on her no matter how many times she pushed him away. "Well, better get back to training."
"You're being careful, right?" Cyrus asked, genuine concern in his voice, "If you need help with safer and more efficient training, there are a lot of people here who would be willing and able to help."
"Don't worry, I'm being safe." From down the hall came foot steps and someone shouting Esmae's name. The red headed boy who seamlessly always had a smile on his face. "Aaron?" Esmae lifted her head and her eyes lit up for a moment, that was until she remembered her appearance. Using her arms she tried to cover her uneven hair. Then she moved around Cyrus a bit to hide her shoulder. Embarrassed to show herself in front of him. "Why now?" He came to a stop in front of Cyrus. "I heard you got hurt. Are you okay?" Esmae then hid even more behind Cyrus. "Yep, all good." Aaron frowned and moved around Cyrus to see. And without hesitation he gently went in for a hug. "I can't believe you were going to leave without saying goodbye." Something new arose in Esmae something she had never felt before. And without noticing her face turned a bright red.
Cyrus stepped aside and looked to Esmae and Aaron. He managed to smile, just a bit.
"P-please l-let go." Esmae stumbled over her words and looked to Cyrus for help, as her face grew even more red. Aaron didn't budge. Even though Esmae was a tiny bit taller and could probably take him down, at this moment though, she had no strength, it was as if he was stealing it. 'Help' she mouthed to Cyrus.
Cyrus put a palm on Aaron's forehead and tried to push him back a bit.
"Alright, I think that's enough hugging for now," he said firmly but gently.
"Ah, right sorry." A slight blush on his cheeks. He let Esmae go and she back away a few feet. "I thought I was going to die." Her hands chest and her breathing was a bit heavier than normal. Aaron looked at her with confusion. "I didn't hug you that hard." Straightening up, she wiped off her clothes as if they were dirty. "I-I know that." Esmae again walked closer to Cyrus, still unsure of what she was feeling.
Sparrow put a comforting hand on Esmaes shoulder "come, I'll teach you a special but deadly art." She smiled
"Okay." As they walked away, Esmae looked over her shoulder and saw a face she has never seen on Aaron before. Sadness. She felt a bit bad, but she also need to figure out what was wrong with her before hanging out with him again. Putting a hand to her chest she felt that her heart rate was normal again.
"I see you have formed a crush on thos young man." Sparrow smirked
"A crush, me? No way. I'm pretty sure I'm not capable of liking anyone." Her voice squeak a little while talking. Do I really feel that way for him? The feeling she had back there stared to come back and to calm herself down she played with her fingers. "Even if I did, which I don't, I'm sure he doesn't feel that way."
Sparrow sighed and smiled "love, I know what it's like to be in love and not know. You are friends right? Well Cyrus and I grew up togather. I had always admired him and his skills in medicine. But as we got older, my feeling for him shifted and i didnt realize what it was until it was too late. Dont be afraid to try out new things. However I will hurt that boy if he does anything to you." She said, ruffling her hair. Sparrow switched topics and a mischievous glint appeared in her eyes. "Would you like to fly?"
Esmae's eyes lit up. "Fly?" She couldn't contain her excitement, as she bounced a little bit. "Ah, but will it be okay with my shoulder?" Esmae tried her best to distract herself.
"I've been working on a different way of spyware. Something that is a little more discreet." She grinned and led Esmae to her workshop. Reaching there, she open the lights and pulled off a sheet from a silver device
"Wow." Esmae walked around examining the machine. "How long have you been working on this?" It was beautiful and something Esmae had never seen before.
"Its my life's work." She smiled
"So this is something you've worked on since you were a kid?" When she was my age? it was weird to think that Sparrow was her age once. "What was it like when Panther had your guild?" She asked running her fingers over the machine.
Sparrow's smile faded and she paused, caressing her device. "Life with panther eh? We were his most elite team, The Cubs. Small and young, able to pass off as being innocent and flexible enough to fit in even the tightest places." She said
Ever so slightly, Esmae looked up at Sparrow and raised an eyebrow. "So he only used to get into small places?" Esmae looked at her closer, examining how she looked. Since she has been here, she never really looked at any of them.
Sparrow looked up and smiled softly "that's not all. Such young and innocent children we were. He used us to pretend to be lost or hurt while the others raided and abused the others in the house. Sometimes ye word sell us off and then pretended to come rescue us so he would have something to hold against us. The first man I killed was when I was 9." She said quietly. "I was so protective of my friends and endured something's far worse than anything they have imagined."
"At least you had friends to protect. I was a killer and feared by many people in the guild. I was one of Panthers leading spys, going in stealing information or taking other guilds down from the inside." Esmae's eyes went dark, but soon brightened up again. She didn't want to think about the things she's done. "He's probably worse now. Uriah being there is dangerous, I hope he has enough skill and common sense to stay alive." Esmae's looked up and locked eyes with Sparrow's. "So when are we getting on this?"
Sparrow smiled softly at the girl "here, let me bring it outside." She said, pressing a button to make it collapse. The small plane like structure folded into a large metal box and Sparrow dragged it outside,to where many of yer failed creations lay. She called it the Metal Graveyard. No one came here except without special permission by her. "Welcome love, to The Metal Graveyard." She geinned
With the sun gleaming down, it reflected off the metal making then shine. It was beautiful. "Ah, I have a question. When I left, Freedom wouldn't leave this one grave, is there someone she knew there?" Looking at a metal grave yard reminded her of the real grave.
Sparrow stopped short and slowly turned back to face Esmae "where…where did you go? In which direction?" She asked
"Um, i-if I remember correctly, it was southwest. There was a bunker and I took some things I would need for my journey." Sparrow's reaction made Esmae more curious. Was it an enemy or friend?
Sparrow smiled sadly and leaned against the wall "how much has Uriah told you about freedom? Where she come from and such." She asked
"He didn't tell me anything. Not like I blame him." She shrugged and followed Sparrow's lead and leand against the wall. There were so many things she didn't know about. She doesn't know anything about this guild or it's history and even the people here.
