(yeah it's open) The van opened, and a few uniformed people in white and blue stepped out. They were carrying odd equipment, and one of them was headed straight for Kaden without him realizing it. Kaz cursed again, focusing on a spot to the side of the guard. A loud crackle of electricity distracted the guard, and he wandered off. Kaz hopped up for a moment, running over to Kaden and grabbing his arm. "C'mere perv, unless you like mutilation."
Kaden yanked his arm away. "I'm not a perv asshole, I'd prefer if you didn't call me one." He growled but followed, against his better judgment. He turned his head back to look at those men.
Kaz rolled his eyes. "Whatever, just shut up and wait for the van to leave," he said, yanking Kaden down behind the dumpster with them. It was almost pitch black, and Kaz took it as an opportunity. His eyes flickered and he looked away from the others as his eyes turned black with the only color being the whites of the actual eye. The people of the van became fuzzy outlines of electricity, with the Van being clearly defined by the energy it gave off

Malachi trembled, fearing for his life. The man from before, Kaz, had helped him…
He felt heat from both sides of him as he curled up behind the dumpster. It wasn't pleasant, but it was either this, or death. Malachi noticed a thin line of electricity kill the street lights shortly after a quick glance from Kaz. Maybe he wasn't normal either. The other man, who had yet to be identified, other than Kaz's nickname of 'Perv' had been dragged along into their place of hiding as well. He seemed quite mysterious, and could quite possibly be dangerous. Kaz seemed to be the more carefree type however. There was more room to slip up with him, but with the other, he feared he may not be as kind.
Kaz watched as the men walked through the alley. One turned on a flashlight and started to go down the alley, dangerously close to their hiding spot. The guard turned, and before he could spot them his flashlight cut out with a flick of Kaz's wrist. He scowled at it but seemed afraid to linger in the pitch black. He turned back as the others swept through the surrounding area. They sat there, perfectly still for almost 15 or so minutes before they returned to the van. It sped off, and Kaz breathed a sigh of relief
Malachi stood up carefully, wary of their surroundings. He took a few steps away from where the other two were. There was one thing echoing in his mind that wouldn't leave. Unable to take it anymore, he blurted out a single question: "W-why did you help me?"
(Precious cinnamon roll with an overly angsty background who thinks everyone should hate him and is shocked when they don't)
(happens with my characters from time to time lol) Kaz gave him a look. "Why did I help you? Why wouldn't I help you?"
"B-because I'm different. I'm… I'm not fully human," Malachi replies, tears beginning to fill his eyes.
(Oh shoot I rhymed)
(lol) Kaz's expression softened a little. "Hey, it's ok. Don't cry. I'm not human either," he said softly
Malachi rubs at his eyes, mentally cursing himself for crying.
"You wanted to know where my parents were, right…?" he started, taking a deep breath, both to calm himself down from crying and to keep calm with the truth.
"My mother doesn't want me anymore. Says I'm an abomination… And my father… He's unable to care for me with the position he's in."
Kaden groaned and rolled his eyes. "Oh boo hoo. Your mama doesn't want you. That doesn't mean you should cry about it. It'll get you nowhere. So suck it up." He said.
"Jesus, you sound like you've got daddy issues too," Kaz scoffed. He turned back to Malachi. "Hey, it's ok. My dad's dead, but my mom's still around. She's not the biggest fan of me though, but at least she tries."
"No, I prefer to be the daddy" (Wink wink) He said and rolled his eyes. "I didn't ask for your sob stories. Now if we could get going, or lets say split, that would be best."
(lol) Kaz went a tiny bit red, clearing his throat. "Okay, well. There's a safehouse a block or so from here where we can wait for the patrols to stop. They'll be going all night from the looks of it."
;) Kaden scowled. "Fine, let's go then. Lead the way." He gestured with his hand. He glanced around at the people looking for them, or whatever they were looking for.
Kaz hopped up, making his way out of the pitch blackness of the alley. He gave his motorcycle a glance, resolving to leave it hidden until they found the safehouse. He started to walk, past the broken streetlamp and several graffiti-covered buildings
Kaden followed last, his knife in his hand. He was watching the shadows, the open, the roofs, waiting for something, anything.
