Malachi looked down at the ground. He was used to being called such things, but Kaz's tone was different.
"I-I'm sorry that I didn't respond correctly. Forgive me please," he called out timidly. Malachi braced himself for punishment if this interaction didn't go well.
Kaz looked over at him, confused. "Didn't…What? Where are your parents?" he asked
Malachi looked up at the man before him. He wasn't hit…!
"They're…" he started. How could he explain to a normal mortal that his father was a dragon and that his mother didn't want him because of the fact she saw him as an abomination?
"They're just not here…" he finished.
(The poor child expects people will hit him for giving an answer they don't want to hear like his mom did)
(activate Kaz's attempt at being a dad) Kaz sighed, moving his bike back behind the dumpster. He walked over to Malachi, bending down so as not to look so tall. "Are you lost or something?"
Kaden was hidden in the shadows, watching, waiting. He wished they would just leave already so he wouldn't need to be bothered by them anymore.
(What if there's an organization that hunts down supernaturals and they show up and try to take them, but they barely get away and end up in an abandoned building to lie low and heal and stuff?)
(that could work, I've got a scientist character if we need it)
(Do you want to start the attack now or wait?)
(Idc, but I gtg to class)
Malachi shook his head aggressively. "Nope. Not lost."
(hi sorry drivers ed) Kaz stood up. "Well, I'd drive you home if I had gas, but I'm running empty," he said, pointing a thumb in the direction of his motorcycle. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw the guy he had run into still standing in the darkness. He frowned. "You could at least show your face instead of hiding in the dark."
He didn't respond. He just kept his eye on them as he looked around. It was making him uncomfortable with how long they were staying there. The sooner they were gone, the better off he'd be.
Kaz scowled. "Alright, have it your way perv," he muttered
(Who wants to start 'Supernatural Apprehension' thing?)
(after class. I'll be back in an hourrrr)
(oof have fun. idk I guess I could start?)
Suddenly, a white van with the words "Murdock Labs" written on the sides. Kaz's eyes widened. "Shitshitshit!" He grabbed Malachi by the arm, putting a hand in the general direction of the street light. An arc of barely-visible purple-blue electricity crossed it, shattering the bulb and blacking the entire street out. He shoved Malachi behind a dumpster with him. "Don't. Move," he said quietly
Kaden shrunk back as the van pulled up. If one person was running from them, he should too. He never underestimated anyone. He would be dead if he did. He gripped his knife, ready to defend himself.
