"I know, I know." She said, sitting down. "I mean, finding the sun's pretty important."
"I know, I know." She said, sitting down. "I mean, finding the sun's pretty important."
"Well we found it," Jonah stated, pointing to the sun shining through the small airplane window. "We just don't want to lose it again."
"Fair enough." She said, humming.
After a few minutes of silence, the plane took off. Jonah sighed, leaning back in the uncomfortable airplane seat. "So this guy, Henry Coles Jr., you said he was a student right? So is he your age?" If this man really was the source of the sun outage, well…Jonah wasn't expecting someone so young to be involved. He'd always imagined that an older person, maybe in their fifties, would be behind it.
Ricky listened to the conversation
"Not sure. I just heard his name in role call for the first week before they gave up on him. But he emails his assignments to the professors on time. He's just… that asshole." She said, shrugging. "Never actually knew him."
Well there goes that idea. Jonah thought, leaning against the window of the plane. They were well in the air now, and he could barely see the ground.
Raven fidgeted slightly, playing with the hem of her shirt. "We're soarin', flyin'…~"
(lol that's something I would do)
Jonah turned to Raven, furrowing his eyebrows in confusion. "…What? What are you doing?"
((I have done that lol))
"Flyin'… little mildly nerve racking." She said awkwardly laughing. ((I've been kinda mentally developing her and gave her mild anxiety oops))
"Are you alright?" Jonah questioned, getting a little nervous. I knew I shouldn't have taken her with me…
She waved him off. "I'll be fine. Nothing I'm not used too. Just, what, a few hours? I can survive that." ((Actually how my friend copes it works))
Jonah was still confused, but he let it slide. "Yeah….it's only a few hours. Unfortunately the department got us the cheapest seats possible, so I'm not sure if the food will be that good."
"Hey, it's still food." She said, smiling
Jonah chuckled lightly, warming up to Raven. "That is true. Luckily I had a big breakfast before this, so hopefully I won't have to resort to eating plane peanuts."
"Might have left some Oreos in my bag, too." She said, smiling. "I'm like, ninety nine percent sure I forgot to take them out."
"That's technically not allowed, but I'll let it pass." Jonah replied. He so desperately wanted to take out his phone and start searching for Henry Coles, but the airplane didn't allow passengers to use internet or data.
"Nope, I checked. You can bring food, just no liquids." She said, deciding to zone out
"Well I guess we'll be living off Oreos for the next few hours." Jonah muttered, hoping to get at least an hour of sleep before the plane landed.
She hummed absently, picking at her nails
About two hours later, Jonah still hadn't fallen asleep. I should have brought a pillow. These seats are super uncomfortable.
Then suddenly a horrendously loud crash came from the sky above them. In seconds, the world outside went pitch black. The only light was coming from the small overhead lights on the ceiling of the plane. People began screaming and pressing their faces against the small windows while the plane staff tried to speak over them and calm everyone down. And….sun outage number two.
"What. The litteral. Fuck." Raven said, jumping up. "Did it just go out again? How?
"That's what we're trying to figure out by going to D.C." Jonah replied, realizing that the was the only person on the plane that seemed calm. "We can't panic. We're not too far away from the airport, so the pilot should hopefully get us down safely." All Jonah could think about was the noise that had come before the sun went out.
"Right." She muttered, playing with a strand of hair. "Right. Just…just calm down 'til we land."
"Let's hope the pilot knows what they're doing." Jonah muttered to himself, peering out the window to see if he could see any signs of their destination. The plane seemed rather jerky and was descending a little too fast, but pretty soon the lights of Washington D.C. came into view.
