"Well, she's a millionaire, right? She'd have a lot of money. Maybe it was her operation, and he was just doing the dirty work." She said, shrugging. "Like I said, I doubt it."
"Well, she's a millionaire, right? She'd have a lot of money. Maybe it was her operation, and he was just doing the dirty work." She said, shrugging. "Like I said, I doubt it."
Jonah grinned. "No, that's actually brilliant. Have you ever thought about becoming an investigator?" He took out his phone and began typing. "Looks like our best lead is in Washington D.C."
"I would've, but space. Also, my brother would keep worrying 'bout me." She shrugged. "But the important question- how do we get there? I'm a broke collage student. Can't exactly get a plane ticket."
"My department usually pays for anything like this that benefits the investigation." Jonah replied, already sending a message to his boss. "I don't want to tear you away from your studies though…"
"I'll catch up." She said. "My study group has a google doc for notes for when we're absent. I'll just say it's a family thing."
I better not get this kid in trouble. Jonah thought, nodding to the group. "Alright. Looks like we're heading to D.C." He paused, checking the time. "Let's meet up tomorrow at the airport. Nine a.m."
I might leave this))
(Ah alright……)
(I'll wait until y'all get to D.C. to introduce my character.)
"Gotcha." She said, doing finger guns
(Time skip?)
((Sure))
After packing a small suitcase for the trip to D.C., Jonah began the short bus ride to the airport. He was constantly checking his watch, making sure that he would be on time. Eight fourty. He read as he stepped off the bus, heading for the large double doors at the entrance to the airport.
Raven was running up to the airport, dragging a suite case behind her and adjusting her messenger bag's strap. "I'm here!" She said, skidding to the stop.
Jonah turned to see Raven next to him. "Are you absolutely sure that you want to come? You really shouldn't be missing school."
"I'm sure. I'll be fine." She said, smiling.
"If you start failing your classes, then I'm sending you back. No exceptions." Jonah stated before entering the airport. They still had a little bit of time before the plane left, but Jonah wasn't taking any chances. He planned on just waiting by the gate until it was time.
"Remind me to never show you my grades, then." She said, following him. "'Sides, I did most of the stuff that's gonna be due soon."
Jonah nodded. "Random question….well…maybe not random I'm not sure….how old are you? Am I your adult supervision? Can you drink? I don't want to get you in trouble."
"Dude, I'm 22. I can do adult stuff. I mean, I'm bad at it, but I can still do it." She said, rolling her eyes playfully.
He pretended that he knew she was only three years younger than him by nodding again. "Of course. I knew that." Jonah muttered, sitting down in one of the seats by the gate. Eight fifty five.
She sat next to him. "Suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrre." She said, taking out her phone to scroll through.
About ten minutes later, they finally started allowing passengers on the plane. Airplanes are always late. I should have known. Jonah thought, tapping Raven on the shoulder before standing up and boarding the plane. He decided to keep his luggage with him, just because it was less hassle. Besides, he only had one bag.
She turned off her phone before standing, looking around a bit. "So, DC. Fun."
"We're not going for the monuments. If we manage to solve this mystery before we leave, then we can do sight seeing." Jonah replied, finding his seat and sitting down. A window seat…alright.
