Lata rolled her eyes at the mortal comment. Upon seeing the interior of the transportation, Lata seemed to enjoy looking around. She was excited to be able to ride in such a thing. She felt as if she were an important person of power or some sort. It was more advanced than anything she had ever seen. With the way the small girl was acting, she seemed as if she were about as young and innocent as Malachi, who was still with his parents, in awe of the fancy train.

(you know what fuck it, I'm reviving)

The train was incredibly fast for being so old, barely giving the passengers a view of the beautiful city through the windows. The entire city seemed to have a Japanese feel to it, with old buildings whose peeling paint gave way to gold interiors

@Painted-Iris group

(THANK YOU)
Lata watched out the windows as the gold cityscape passed by. Were the group not trying to get home, Lata might have considered staying for a tour of the place. It was just so pretty. Compared to the poor life she had been forced to live before and even the quaint cottage that belonged to Orion, things just seemed so over the top and immaculate. Almost unrealistically perfect.

With a small smile, Orion watches his group, his family. Strong Samandriel, who tries his best to keep everyone safe, to be the rock in the storm. Lata, who he has come to see as a daughter, fierce and daring. Lucy, who was brave enough to join them. Softly reminiscing on the past, Orion's eyes slowly darken with remembrance of what had been, what he had been through. Not even thinking about the gesture, he pulls Lata close to him, wrapping his arms around her and resting his chin on her head, eyes daring anyone to comment.

(I became giddy reading this part omg)
Her excitement calmed down a bit feeling the warm embrace surround her small form. Looking up at Orion, she gives him a soft grin. He wasn't what anyone would expect in a family, same going for Sam and Lucy. But that was okay. Things were okay now. Reaching up, Lata covers one of Orion's larger hands with her smaller one.
The city keeps on speeding by all the same. Family however, lasts forever.

Orion returns Lata's smile with a soft one of his own, hugging her all the tighter, a thought circling through his mind. Mine. Mine. My family. My Sammy. My Lata. My Lucy. Mine. Bright again, he watches the city blaze past the windows of the train, once again making himself a vow. That nothing wold hurt his family as long as he still had breath in his lungs, strength in his feet. He would do everything in his power to keep them safe, he owed them nothing less than that.

(Feels ahead!)
"Orion…?" Lata asked quietly. Waiting a second for Orion to respond with either a hum or with even his attentive gaze.
"I'm sorry I was so rude to you when we met… I want to thank you. For finding me."
As she finished, she turned in the cat man's grip and gave him a proper hug, head about at his chest level.
