"Fair point. There's what, seven of us and one Damascus? We'll probably be fine," Kaz said. Sam shot Lucy a look as he moved to stand, adjusting the armor on his shoulder as he tried not to jab himself in the cheek with the plating. Kaz stood as well, running a hand through his hair as he gave Vaughn a small smile
"Exactly" Vaughn hummed with a brief nod. He stood there, watching their surroundings as he waited for the others.
~~
Lucy gave a soft sigh as she got up and collected her satchel. "Why do I even try?" she mumbled to herself, a hand running through her hair, finger tips catching on a few small tangles.
(Lucy is a mood sometimes lmao)
The others stood, Pluto stretching her wings and near smacking Michael over the head with one. Kaz took Vaughn's hand, giving him a quick peck on the cheek before glancing around at the trees. Sam made an exaggerated noise of disgust at the kiss, causing Kaz to flip Sam off. "What, you never see two guys together before, asshole?" Kaz bit out, and Sam rolled his eyes.
"For your information I've more than likely slept with your father," Sam shot back, a smug but bitter grin plastered across his face
(Lmao yeah)
"Don't take it personally, Kaz. Sam's always been that way- incapable of feeling emotions," Lucy chimed in, obviously in an annoyed mood now. She was barely ever like this, but she felt she had more than one reason to be pissed at the world.
~~
Some people got their anger out with words, but Vaughn was more of a physical person. So, when Sam insulted Kaz, he responded by smashing his fist across Sam's jaw as hard as he possibly could. He didn't know if that would hurt the bastard but he sure hoped so. No one was allowed to insult Kaz.
Sam stumbled back as Vaughn hit him, a growl rising in his throat. "You insolent, mortal son of a slave trader," he hissed. "I ought to burn you alive, you bastard." He ignored the faint throbbing in his jaw in favor of grabbing Vaughn by the collar. He raised his fist, but before he could do anything Kaz was ripping his hand away from Vaughn. Though it wasn't Kaz, no, there was a murderous glint in his now black eyes.
"You touch Vaughn again, so help me god, I will rip you limb from limb," Kaz hissed
Vaughn glared up at Sam, roughly shoving him away. He stepped back to Kaz, putting a hand on his shoulder. "It's fine, Kaz. The little bitch isn't going to do shit," he mumbled, feeling good with himself at the moment.
~~
Lucy didn't things could possibly get worse. But, of course, here things were, getting worse. "Sam, stop it," she snapped, feeling stressed from the conflict. Why couldn't these people just get along?
At Vaughn's comment, Sam seemed to fly into a rage. Before Kaz could even produce a single bolt of electricity Sam was grabbing Vaughn by the throat and tossing him to the ground. The guardian turned to Kaz, who was now nearly Kaon. Sam let a blade slide into place out of his palm, but before he could do anything the blade seemingly dissolved against his will. He looked down at his hand in confusion and rage, not realizing that Pluto had her hand on his shoulder.
"Samandriel, stand down," the angel growled, their wings now alight with stolen energy from Sam's blade
Vaughn cursed sharply when he fell, feeling his head hit the ground. He stayed laying there, rubbing at his sore neck. Lucy was quickly crouched next to him, asking him if he was okay. She was a healer, after all, and she could help him. She helped him sit up, throwing a sharp glare at Sam before checking Vaughn's head for any cuts or bruises. "I'm going to have one hell of a migraine from that," Vaughn grumbled softly.
"Here," Lucy said as she dug through her satchel. She pulled out a small bottle of pills, holding it out. "It's just Tylenol, it should help."
"Thank you.." Vaughn murmured after looking at it for a moment.
"I'm sorry about Sam. I don't know what has been going on with him recently," Lucy added. It was stupid that she would be the one to have to apologize for him. The things she did for loved ones sometimes…
Sam snarled in their direction before storming off. His form shifted until he was an enormous lion, which then leapt into one of the eye-covered trees. "Come back here, you damn coward!" Kaz shouted after him, letting loose a few bolts of lightning in Sam's direction. His mind was practically screaming at him, telling him to chase after the lion and cut off his head. Instead Kaz walked over to Vaughn, forcing his rage aside to sit next to Vaughn. "You okay?" he asked softly
(OKAY DAMNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN)
Malachi wasn't sure what the man- Sam-'s deal was. Why was he being so rude…? The young boy bit his lip before shaking away the thoughts, instead sitting on the forest floor beside his family. Taking one of Vaughn's larger hands in one of his small ones, he began rubbing small circles into his palm. Trying to stay calm, he gave a shy smile at the woman who offered Vaughn the medicine.

Lata glared up towards the path where Sam ran off like a little bitch. God, she wished her magical abilities were wore than just illusions, otherwise, she might have gone after him. She usually wasn't one to curse, but she felt so frustrated that she didn't bother censoring herself.
"Goddamn it, Sam. Can't hold your tongue no matter how hard you try," she muttered under her breath. She hoped that the punch had hurt. Taking a deep breath, she started to calm down. What happened to the Sam from just a few days ago…? He seemed happy and willing to be kinder. After a moment, she wished Sam would come back, only to know he wasn't going to get himself lost. Walking over to the others, Lata stood a little ways behind Lucy. The other mage seemed tired and worn.
(yes, Lata low-key called Sam a little b lmao)
(lmaoo)
"I'm fine," Vaughn murmured to Kaz, sitting himself up the rest of the way. He turned his attention to Malachi, who was seeming a bit stressed. "It's okay, buddy," he said gently, giving Malachi's small hand a soft, comforting squeeze.
~~
Lucy sat back, her legs crossed. She looked over in the direction of where Sam had run off to, a small frown playing at her soft features. Shouldn't someone go after him? He could get himself hurt. Then again, why should she be worrying about that at the moment? That was a fault of hers, even after people had done wrong, she couldn't help but care for them still.
"You both have a very lovely family," she spoke up to Kaz and Vaughn, a smile forcing it's way onto her lips as she did her best to distract everyone from what had just happened. "Kids are just wonderful, aren't they?" Saying that hurt. Her mind automatically went to Clarice, and she felt an icy sab of pain in her ribs.
"Yeah. Little Malachi is great," Kaz said, grinning proudly as he ruffled Malachi's hair. Off to the side, Pluto and Michael were talking quietly.
"Was that Samandriel? Really Samandriel?" Michael asked, and the angel nodded.
"Don't know how or why. He's supposed to be dead after he got his soul key taken. Would have been far more convenient for us if he had just died a while ago," Pluto muttered
Lucy's smile grew at Kaz's affection towards his son, and she nodded a tad. A bit of whispers came in bits and pieces to her, and she looked over her shoulder at the pair talking. A light frown now formed as she looked back at Kaz. "Do people really not like Sam?" she thought to ask.
"Hope not. I've only heard of the guy before, and he seems like a dick," Kaz muttered bitterly. Michael and Pluto continued to talk in the back, seemingly joking about Sam. Little did they know that Sam was hidden in the trees near them, a sad expression on his face. He curled up on one of the branches high in the trees, still in his lion form as he looked down on the others dejectedly
Lucy chewed on her lower lip as she listened to them, a conflicted expression on her face. "I'm sure he doesn't mean to be that way. I mean, he's been nice to me a couple times, so we know he can be that way. Maybe he just needs to learn how to communicate properly," she suggested. Maybe she was just making excuses for all that has happened. She was the type to believe most people had a bit of good in them somewhere, but was she making up excuses now? "I'm not a therapist or anything, but I think something can be done."
"Well, if he can keep his fuzzy mitts off my boyfriend, that'd be great," Kaz muttered bitterly. Michael nodded in agreement, now leaning on Kaz's shoulder.
"But hey, at least your boyfriend's chiseled good looks aren't too messed up," he said in a teasing tone, turning to wink at Vaughn. He was quickly interrupted by Kaz elbowing him in the stomach, which caused him to back off a little
Vaughn shot a glare at Michael, grey eyes narrowed dangerously.
"I don't think he meant to hurt Vaughn. He was just finding a way to release his anger," Lucy said hesitantly, though it sounded like more of a question. "I just-" she started again, but cut herself off with a stressed sigh. "I've tried to get him to talk about his problems because talking about things helps people, but he doesn't acknowledge it one bit. I don't even get a 'thank you' for trying. And that just makes me stressed out because I have a lot going on too, so then there's more people in a bad mood."
Sam sighed in the trees. He knew he was an asshole, he just didn't know that he affected Lucy that much. Truth be told he didn't think any of the others truly cared about him that much. Usually no one bothered getting attached to him.
Kaz laughed a little at the glare Vaughn gave Michael, who had quickly recovered. "Well, from all the hell he's given us I'd say he needs to take…a lot of weed or something. Dude seriously needs a chill pill. Hell, I would give him all the liquor he wanted if it meant he'd leave us alone," Michael laughed
"I don't think it's a good idea to get anyone drunk. That doesn't lead to good things, I know that for sure. A year or two ago, I went drinking at some club with a friend of mine, Yeon, and he got his nose broken by a female bartender for making moves on her when he was wasted," Lucy said, a smile coming back to her lips as she laughed a bit from the memory. Yeon had to crash on her couch for the next week while she tested her healing potions and spells on him to see what would work.
(Yeon this is why you don't get to go anywhere without Argo)
"Yeon? Isn't that the guy tall dark and handsome is dating?" Michael asked curiously, and Kaz nodded.
"Yeah, Argo practically follows him everywhere. I don't think he's ever gotten laid so much in his life," he snickered, causing Pluto to shoot him a glare and make 'be quiet' gestures
Lucy laughed a tad, and embarrassed expression on her face at the thought. "That sounds like something he would want to do all the time. Most people have gotten a turn with him," she commented, hinting that even she had gotten intimate with the man.
(lUCY)
"Damn, maybe I could get a turn with him," Michael said. "After all, Vaughn's off the market," he added, earning him another jab to the ribs.
"You better hope to your life that I don't tell Argo you said that," Kaz said, pointing a finger threateningly at Michael who was currently laughing while he rubbed at his sore ribs
(LUCY IS THERE SOME OTHER THINGS YOU'D WANNA TELL US? AHAHAHAHA)
