Xara flinched back. "A… lightning bug?" She asked tentatively.
Xara flinched back. "A… lightning bug?" She asked tentatively.
Quinn shrugged. "Uhm…sure." he replied. "Although it's not a bug." He held it out. It resembled a Sugar Glider or Squirrel, and was curled contentedly in his hand. "They like this area. They're actually pretty rare, but one of my abilities as king is being able to find things that belong in the kingdom." He smiled.
Charlotte took a small step back. "O - oh. That's interesting."
He raised an eyebrow. "Are you alright?" He asked, holding the furry creature gently. It shifted, opening it's mouth in a yawn. As it yawned, the light it gave off shimmered and pulsed, before returning to a steady glow.
"I've just - it's just odd, is all. Definitely interesting, though!" She changed her voice to a brighter one.
He shrugged. "Mhm. They're kind of cute, too." He raised it so he was looking it in the eyes. It made a squeaking sound, covering its nose with its tail as it looked back at him.
Charlotte nodded. "I suppose they are."
He held it out to her again, and it uncurled the tail from around its face, standing and walking to rhe edge of Quinn's fingers as it looked at her curiously. Its fur was a shimmering light gold that cast a warm, vibrant light.
Charlotte blinked, leaning back slightly. "Er… what's it doing?"
"Probably inspecting you to see if you're a predator. They don't bite or spray poison or anything." Quinn replied. "Speaking of…i think this one's female." He gently picked it up to check. "Yup, female." He put it back down on his hand. She flicked her tail at him, then leapt over onto Charlotte's shoulder, small claws digging into the fabric as the little creature climbed up onto her shoulder, then lay down, draped across her shoulder.
Charlotte winced slightly. "Very sharp claws," she commented.
Quinn nodded. "Yeah. But they're cute." He replied. The little creature nosed at Charlotte's neck curiously.
"I get it, they're adorable," she sighed, glancing over at the creature.
The little creature chirruped softly, and snuggled close to Charlotte, the glow brightening. Quinn smiled. "Hey, she likes you!"
Charlotte grimaced. "How… lovely. Now, let's find the water, shall we? The vampires are going to have a field day, but it'll be worth it," she said brightly, skipping ahead.
"Vampires?" He replied as he followed after her. "What are you talking about?" The little gave a soft chirp of alarm, clinging to Charlotte.
Charlotte gently picked up the little creature and held it in her hands, slowing a bit. "Er, mosquitoes. My, er… mother used to called them vampires. Maybe you don't have them here. That'd really be a wonder. They unfortunately love me."
It nestled into her hands with an almost purring sound, tucking its tail around its face. Quinn nodded. "Ah. We do, though not in large numbers."
Charlotte nodded. "That's lucky - ah!" She grinned as she saw a little stream and ran towards it, stopping when she reached it and staring.
Quinn chased her, stopping a few feet behind her. The little creature was silent, glow brightening as Charlotte began running.
Charlotte sighed and sat down, leaning on one of her elbows. Water was probably the most calming thing in the world.
(hey, i gtg to bed now, I'll reply again tomorrow sometime)
The little creature gave an alarmed chirp at the nearness of the water, climbing up her body until it was hanging around her neck like a heavy, furry scarf. Quinn sat down.
(Oof okie)
"Oh, Christ!" Charlotte exclaimed in surprise. That was certainly a new experience. "This little creature does not like water as.much as I do."
Quinn shook his head, chuckling. "No, they don't." He replied. The little crrsture hung on where it was.
(Oof Idk what to do)
