Charlotte rolled her eyes. "Well, I obviously wouldn't do it on purpose. Using my mystical witch powers results in injury - nevermind. Just, let's please go back."
Charlotte rolled her eyes. "Well, I obviously wouldn't do it on purpose. Using my mystical witch powers results in injury - nevermind. Just, let's please go back."
He sighed, and stood up. "Fine." he replied, starting to shiver slightly. The little golden creature chirped softly, snuggling close to Charlotte.
Charlotte stoop up from her stump and started walking back the way they had come. "Thank you."
He nodded. "You're welcome." he replied as he followed her back.
They reached the inn, and had to go all the way around to the front, as Charlotte had no plans to try to get back through the window.
The little glowing fuzzball was still on Charlotte's shoulder, curled up contentedly. Quinn was shivering still, arms crossed for warmth.
Charlotte sighed as she held the door open for Quinn. "I told you you were going to make yourself sick. Come on, it's warm in there."
Quinn stepped inside, letting out a soft sigh as he started warming up. The little creature chittered softly, sitting up.
Charlotte made her way up the stairs and to her room, trying the doorknob. It was locked. "I don't suppose you've got a key?"
Quinn shook his head, starting to shiver again. The little glowing creature clung tightly to Charlotte's shoulder.
Charlotte cursed. "Wait here, I'll go around," she instructed, heading for the stairs.
Quinn nodded, still shivering slightly as he waited. "Okay."
Charlotte dashed down the stairs, around the inn, and towards the tree she'd come out on. She sighed and quickly climbed up to the window, immediately falling and landing on the floor. With a muttered curse, she made her way to the door and pulled it open.
When she fell on the floor, the little creature, which had clung on the entire time, fell off with a startled chitter, and sat on the floor, staring around the room. Quinn came in. "Thanks." He said, still shivering a bit.
Charlotte rushed to pick up the small creature, gently placing it in the pocket of her dress. She then looked around the room. "First, you'd better go to your room and get dry clothes."
Quinn nodded. "Yeah. I'll be back." He replied, going to his room. The creature climbed onto the pocket, sticking its head out curiously to look around.
Charlotte smiled faintly and practically fell onto her bed. She was exhausted.
"Do you mind if i take a bath?" Quinn asked, having set his clothes down so he wouldn't get them wet. He gestured to the bathroom attached to her room as he spoke. The small creature chittered softly, crawling out of the pocket and onto the bed.
Charlotte shook her head wearily. "Knock yourself out. Not literally, please."
He nodded, then spotted the glowing fuzzball. "Oh, you still have her. You should give her a name while I'm in the bath." He said, going into the bathroom and closing the door.
Charlotte glanced down at the little creature. "How about… Starshine?" She laughed. "No, that's stupid. Er…I don't know."
It chittered softly, snuggling up to her and closing its eyes contentedly. Quinn got in the bath.
"Glowing creature… could I just call you Lightning? You know, like a lightning bug? That'll do," she decided with a nod, still staring at the ceiling.
Lightning snuggled closer to her, making a soft noise. The soft glow of the little creature's fur was still bright, dimming and brightening slightly as it breathed.
Charlotte reached out a finger to gently pet Lightning before returning to her thoughts.
