Celeste doesn't wait for a response. "My name is Celeste Ravens, obviously. My mother, who was also a magic-user like me, taught me how to hide my magic, but she also taught me how to use it, if that makes sense. After my father found out about my mother, he killed her and blamed it on assassins. He threatened me that if I told anyone, he'd kill them and all the people I care about. Thankfully, he doesn't know about me having light magic, or else he'd have ordered me killed, and he'd see to having another child for the crown. I originally planned to escape tonight, but then this" Celeste gestured to the group, "happened."
"We're very good at screwing up plans."
Interesting tale… "Sounds like an interesting story" said Arthur.
"Yeah, life isn't as royal as a princess as it presumes to be" Celeste sits down on a flat-ish rock, and glances around at the group. "You know, you guys aren't bad, you're just misunderstood. Especially with the king against magic and whatnot."
"Not surprising when you think about it" said Arthur from the shadows.
(Sorry I was at school, can we just pretend Scott had got there at some point earlier)
(yeah)
Liberty bristled, but chose to say nothing. She could not act alone; unless it was a stand-alone mission, it would be direct action against the Guild. And for fighting alone, the princess was only half right about that one. She was with her brother, and they were alone together, fighting off anything that came their way.
Lilith was staring off into space, her mind racing with unwanted memories that showed on her face before she shook her head violently. "It seems to me that the higher vote is for keeping her, but…look, Celeste. We have to be careful. I'm not losing any more people, so I need you to know that I will not hesitate to kill you if I have, to." Her mood had changed, suddenly serious.
Arthur waited silently, waiting for the others to make a verdict.
"Understood, uhh… What should I call you guys for the time being?"
Liberty waited til Lilith told her a name; she was unsure if they were supposed to use their real names of fake ones. Either way, she would give the princess a fake one. She didn't trust any royalty with something so easily used.
"Arthur" said Arthur from the shadows.
"Lillith." She rolled her shoulder, trying to get rid of the pain.
Arthur waited for Liberty to say something.
"Well, um, it's nice to meet you? Not the ideal conditions, but still."
"Ideal conditions during war are an illusion." She deadpanned.
"We should probably get back to the guild soon" said Arthur, shifting to Wolf form again.
(To Lilith) "There's a war? I didn't- Oh, God…" Celeste seems flustered. "My father didn't tell me anything, and I haven't anyone to talk to ever since my mother's death when I was 6 - that's 12 years. I-I'm sorry. If I knew, I would've done as much as I could when it started." Celeste was vulnerable, and she was trying hard to hold back tears.
"Um, since there's those of you who still don't trust me, would you be more comfortable if I be blindfolded/knocked unconscious? I at least want to give the people who might spare my life some respect."
"That's what happens when you try to persecute magic users" said Arthur padding out into the light, wincing a little at the auras.
"Oh. Are you all still alright with me knowing the location? I mean, it's up to the leader, but…"
"I just don't think it'd be wise, in your case."
"You're right. I'm just going to blindfold you." Lillith pulled a scarf out and held it up.
