(AHHH! I'M SORRY! I'M STILL ALIVE, I SWEAR)
(Hi coolcat!)
Celeste lays in her bed, waiting for the sound of her father's snores to start. She had to escape tonight, there were no other options. Her thoughts swirled as the sound of crickets sounded. She heard her father snore.
Okay, getting up in 3, 2, 1 She gets out of her bed, and the floorboards creak. Celeste freezes and looks around. Her father is still snoring. She sighs in relief.
"Careful," Lilith whispered to Arthur, knowing he could hear her. "We aren't the only ones sneaking around."
"I know" Said Arthur quietly, heading up the tower.
She threw back her hood, to watch the surroundings. "Maybe this'll be more fun then I thought."
What am I doing? Should I even do this?
Come on, Celeste, you didn't make it this far just to call it quits.
Celeste tiptoes to the window, stopping every time she makes a noise. She was going to escape, but she was having doubts.
Arthur froze at the princess's door. "Someone's moving in there" he mouthed to the others, stepping back to let someone else take the lead.
Lilith stepped forward and counted down on her fingers before swinging the door open for the element of surprise.
Celeste draws the curtains open and opens her window with force.
(wait, are the assassins outside her room? I think so…?)
((just opened the door
Arthur quickly followed her in, surprised when he saw what the princess was doing.
Celeste sits on her windowsill. She was going to slide off and take a 40ft fall
This is gonna hurt, but I'll still be able to escape
"Well well well, what do we have here?"
Arthur relaxed against the wall as the others filed in.
Celeste goes stiff. She turns and faces her foes. She knows by the looks on their faces that they're assassins. Here to kill her.
Celeste gets down, eye-level with her killers, and she stares at them.
"Kill me." If they end my life now, I still won't have to become queen, and I won't even have to run from the law
"It's no fun if you ask us to, jeez." Lilith cocked her hip, crossing her arms. "You really gonna jump?"
"If that's what it takes, then yes. Either you kill me now, or you kill me while I try to escape."
Celeste turns to the window. "I recommend you decide quickly, because I don't think that if I escape, you'll be able to kill me."
"You underestimate me. Care to tell us /why/ you're about to commit suicide?"
Liberty had her axes drawn, ready to throw them if necessary if the princess jumped. Either way, this would be the assassin’s kill.
"I'm not" Celeste smirks. "You're not the only ones who know magic"
And with that, she runs and jumps out her window. Celeste quickly casts a spell, and a platform resembling light catches her, allowing her to float down.
When the princess is halfway down, an owl hoots and her focus is disrupted, and she falls the rest of the way down. Celeste tries her best to not scream, and curls herself into a ball as she falls. She is too overcame by fear to cast a spell.
"Motherfuck." Lillith seemed to make a split second decision before running to the window and leaping over the sill. The wind picked up, slowing Celeste's decent.
Celeste expected her to crash sooner. She looks up and sees one of them.
Why would they help her? Why would they save the person they intended to kill?
Anger fumed inside Celeste. So that they could kill her themselves. Celeste casts a spell, and a ball of light energy shoots from her hands, intending to hit the person following her. As for the wind, Celeste faces the ground and goes for a dive, hoping to gain ground (air, maybe?), and she leans herself to a collection of hay bales she paid a slave to put there. She lands, and quickly runs towards the forest, hoping to lose her oppressors.
Lillith took the hit straight to her shoulder, but landed easily. She looked up to the window and gestured to the forest before following Celeste.
