"Kind of" said Arthur, "I was more thinking you'd join us as an ally, help take down the king."
"Kind of" said Arthur, "I was more thinking you'd join us as an ally, help take down the king."
"If that is the only alternative, then fine. If not, I'd like to go on my way."
"Taking down the king would be better than running…" (brb in 30 min)
"It is the preferable alternative," said Arthur, "and taking down your father would be a much better solution."
"There's a reason you're the smart one." She said to Arthur, grinning at him.
since when? Arthur sighed before turning to the princess. "You in?"
Liberty was fuming. This was not what we agreed on. "I, for one, do not agree. If the princess is anything like her father, she is manipulative and will just use us to expose the Guild." she snapped, crossing her arms.
"Why would she?" asked Arthur, "She's a magic user like us, we've already seen that!"
She placed a hand gently on Liberty's shoulder. "But think about it from the other perspective. Think about how she can help the guild."
Arthur stayed silent as he thought about the consequences of doing this.
Liberty shrugged off the hand. "It doesn't matter that she's a magic user. The King, her father, could be aware of this ability and this whole 'running away thing' could be a scam to expose the Guild." Little sparks of fire danced on her fingertips, and she shoved her hands into her pockets to disguise them. She didn't need an eruption right about now.
"I've survived this long by being able to tell whether a person is shitty or not. She's just scared, and has every right to be."
"Look, I don't mean to-" Celeste stares at the ground and kicks at scattered rocks. "Are you guys going to kill me or should I just go?"
"Well you aren't /going/ anywhere, whatever the verdict is." Lillith pointed at Celeste.
"Well, I probably can't persuade you with some hocus-pocus magic now, can I? And I know that I have no say in this, and I hate that. Just… give me a chance, maybe?"
"My brother did not die for us to let the princess go," Liberty growled. "Countless other people did not die for us to let the royal bloodline live on."
She turned a sharp look on Liberty. "And they didn't die for us to pass down an opportunity like this. We have a chance to stop innocent people from dying, dammit. We can fix things!"
(To Liberty) "I-I'm sorry. If you're so fixed on killing me, why don't you? I'm assuming that before you found this 'guild' you speak of, you were off fighting alone."
"Liberty" Arthur spoke up, "I know it is a risk, but I honestly believe we have an opportunity here. One that could help us end this. I mean, just because the king hates magic, doesn't mean his daughter will. And not every magic user like having magic in the first place either, I, of all people know that, and you should too."
"Look, if all you guy're gonna do is argue, I'd rather start running then just stand here while you determine my verdict. I mean, come on! Either way I can escape both my father and being queen."
Lillith went and stood next to her, one hand in her pocket. "Relax, princess. We're working it out."
A chill went down Celeste's spine, and she took a step away from the assassin.
"If you're to call me anything, let it be my real name. Princess is too… sweet and innocent. Unless you live under a rock, my name is Celeste"
"Well first thing to do is calm down, ok Celeste?" said Arthur,
"He's right. Take a deep breath, then another. Nothing gets done when you get yourself worked up."
(I'm assuming it's like, midnight? Something like that?) Celeste conjures small, softball-sized floating light orbs that are scattered amongst the group.
"No use making no progress, so… should I tell you about myself before you decide? Besides what the news says, God they exaggerate…"
