Zeus sniffed Liana's hand before putting his paw on top of it, like a handshake.
Alastor smiled, glad that his dog was still friendly despite all that's happened.
"Hey, just make sure you don't sneak up on him or act like you're going to attack him, okay? He'll rip your arm clean off if you do," he warned her, placing a hand on his left arm subconsciously, his mind briefly replaying the memory of when Zeus sent Alastor to the hospital a few years back because of such an incident. It wasn't fun.
He turned his attention to the small kid Eva was next to and crouched down. "Hello," Alastor said to him, smiling softly. "What's your name?"
Liana was officially in love with the dog, her eyes basically having hearts and stars in them as she interacts with the dog.
"oh wow you're such a smart boy!!" she says, holding his paw lightly in case he wanted to pull away. She pets his cheek and scratches behind his ears, making silly faces to him, saying inconcerent things in a baby voice.
She looks back up to Alastor "oh shit man" she exclaims, which Eva replies to with a loud snap "language" she scolds.
Liana rolls her eyes "you ever see him do that before? I bet it was super cool! Ill be sure not to." she turns back to Zeus "how could i when you're such a sweetie pie! yes you are" she says, puckering her lips as she talks.
Eva turns back to look at Alastor as he speaks to Cassie, turning to see his reaction. His first expression was shock, his eyes wide and his lip quivering. Though it looked like he tries his best to push it down so he can speak. "Cassius" he states quietly "You can call me Cassie. Momma does" he says, his tiny hand going to her robe to hold the hem of it in tight little fists.
Zeus took his paw back and glanced at Alastor, giving a small impatient huff.
"He wants water," Alastor translated to Liana. "And yes, I've seen him do it multiple times. It is cool unless he does it to you, that hurts like hell."
He focused his attention back on Cassie. "Great to meet you, Cassie," he replied. "I'm Alastor, but you can call me Al if you want." He smiled fondly at the kid, although it was tinged with sadness. Before the flu, his job had been very psychologically demanding, and he hated it when he had to deal with victims that weren't even or barely adults. He loved seeing and interacting with little kids, but there was always a bit of fear and wariness lurking in the back of his mind, making him feel that if he got too attached to them then they would be gone too. It was morbid, and Alastor hated how his former job has made him so unable to fully connect and be comfortable around other people.
( :D Kronk voice: It's all coming togetherβ¦)
Liana's jaw dropped and her eyes widen at his words. She fights the urge to ask about any scars or "story time" so instead she stands up and turns around "here ill get him some water" she says. "we have a well out back. It's as clean of water as we can get. Dont worry its not dangerous." she says with a wave of her hand, hopping over the side railing of the porch and heading towards the back of the house where the well was.
Cassie let a small smile appear on his lips as he tries to pronounce his full name to himself under his breath. He settles on Al until he can properly pronounce his full name.
"What's his name?" Cassie asks, looking over to the dog.
(sorry its real short ;~;)
(I kind of want my characters to go and have a long ass conversation.)
(with each other? I mean, go for it man)
(yes with each other, I will do it in a bit)
(thumbs up)
(quick recap: Alastor and Zeus are off meeting Eva, Cass and Liana. Lucky and Sinjoro are off on their own. Liam, Devon, and June are in conversation in the living room. Ronni and Lucas are also in the living room, half in the same conversation and half on their own. Ariella is in the kitchen by herself)
Alastor nodded his thanks to Liana, but she had already left for the well.
"His name is Zeus," He replied to Cassie as the big dog laid down on the ground and stared at the three of them.
"He's really nice, I promise. Would you like to pet him?" Alastor offered. He wondered if he should ask Eva if she wanted to come into the city with him and join their group.
She might not want to. I mean, if I had kids then I wouldn't trust them around a bunch of strangers either, he thought. Still wouldn't hurt to ask later, though.
(I am trying to type but I have something in my eye and I can't get it without ruining my eyeliner ;-;)
(Ariella just twiddle her thumbs rn)
(I had a hair in my eye- rip I got it thoβ¦back to typing)
(Is it ok if I just differ on who's talking by doing 'D:' or 'J:'?)
(Yeah, I think that's fine)
(SORRY IN ADVANCE IF THIS DOESN'T MAKE SENSE π)
June stood up, "I am going to chat with my brother for a minute" She said, grabbing Devon's arm and pulling him into the room they slept in, she sat him down on the bed and stood in front of him crossing her arms. Leaving the door open.
J: "Donevan"
D: "Junifer"
J: "You can't keep doing thisβ¦"
D: "doing what?"
J: "Acting soβ¦soβ¦distant!"
D: "I am not acting any different from normal"
J: "But you are! You are acting all secluded and and quiet..you don't have toβ¦you can trust them."
D: "β¦"
J: "Dev..they are not like her..they are not going to betray you"
D: "I never said that"
J: "Ugh!" she started cursing at him in french. "grow up! She is more than likely dead, so stop letting her control you!"
D: "You didn't have to deal with it, you don't understand"
J: More french cursing. "No I didn't, but I know you, you have told me about it. Grow up and make some fricken friends"
D: "Like you are any better, you come off too strong and you know it"
J: "Stop being afraid"
D: "Stop being overbearing"
J: "Fine, I will back off, if you stop hiding."
D: "I was not hiding-"
J: "Hiding who you really are Dev."
D: "Fine"
June sat beside her brother with a sigh.
J: "I am sorry for yelling"
D: "And you wonder why women frighten me"
J: "Ha ha, I am trying to apologize"
D: "it's fine J" (said like Jay)
J: "Now go make friends, they already kinda like me you frickin gay hermit"
Devon walked out of the room shaking his head, a slight smile on his face. He went over to the couch and sat down. Not being sure now to start a conversation with anyone, he just stayed quiet.
Ronni locked up again, slowly pulling her hand off his shoulder. She didn't understand why he would say that exactly, and certainly not right now, butβ¦
He's fragile, and you said you were going to give him a chance⦠Tanya admonished her.
She was quiet and still for a long minute, before she swallowed hard and nodded at him, almost imperceptibly.
Okayβ¦
Lucas nodded and smiled.
"Thanks." He said and went back to staring at his hands.
Lucas nodded and smiled. "Thanks." He said and went back to staring at his hands.
Ronni frowned, before tapping his arm.
Why?
Ronni frowned, before tapping his arm.
Why?
Lucas looked up at her again.
"Just for existing I guess," he told her "for trying to trust me."
Lucas looked up at her again. "Just for existing I guess," he told her "for trying to trust me."
Ronni blinked, confused. That was very kind, but it hadn't been what she'd meant.
She shook her head, then gestured a few things.
No, I meant why did you want me to trust you?

Lucas smiled at her.
"Because everyone needs that one person they can trust with everything." He told her "I want you to have that too, even if you don't like talking or people."

Ronni continued to look confused. Butβ¦ that's not how trust worksβ¦ you have to earn a deep level of trustβ¦
She didn't say that, but she knew Tanya would tell her to say something, so she did. Gesturing complex statements always took her a while though.
I don't trust anyone like what you're describing. Nobody. But I do trust you enough to believe you won't stab me in my sleep. For Ronni, that was a big step, and she hoped he would understand.

Lucas nodded.
"And that, my silent friend," he told her "would be step one in trusting someone because I too, believe you wouldn't stab me in my sleep, smother me, maybe, but not stab."
Lucas nodded. "And that, my silent friend," he told her "would be step one in trusting someone because I too, believe you wouldn't stab me in my sleep, smother me, maybe, but not stab."
Ronni nodded slowly. He at least got where she was coming from. That was good.
She thought for a moment, before pointing a him, then shrugging.
So⦠tell me about you?
Maybe if she got to know him, she'd trust him.
Maybe she'd find out why she shouldn't trust him.
And maybe she'd wind up with a friend.
