His snoring sounded awfully normal. Like her brother, Homer, when he slept. He snored too.

Homer….yes! You're at home a-and Homer is sleeping with the door open, again. You're not in a strangers bed, you're in your own bed and this is all just a bad dream…. Sage clutched the blanket close, as of it were her anchor, even as her hand throbbed painfully.

Just a very, very bad dream…

((Ummm, the next day, maybe they can have heart to heart over granola bars?))

Werry woke up probably at the same time he always did. He sat up slowly, yawning faintly and crawling out of his bed. He glanced back at his guest with a faint sigh, last night’s events playing back. He shuffled across the room into his restroom, where he quickly did his business and changed clothing. He’d have to do another load of laundry soon.

Sage woke to a gasping start, images of big, multi-eyed monsters chasing her through the night finally faded away. She was covered in a fine layer of sweat but shivered nonetheless. She forced the warm embrace of the quilt to become tighter as she sat up.

Werry creeped out of his bathroom as she sat up. He jumped when he looked over, his eyes widened out. He hadn’t got much sleep last night either. She had kept moving and kicking him, hopefully by accident, all night.
“Good morning,” He finally said softly.

Sage practically jumped out of her skin at the sound of his voice, her head turning towards him. He wasn't Homer…. This wasn't her room.

Yesterday hadn't been a dream…. Sage sighed and remained silent, her eyes remained on him.

Werry shifted uncomfortably. He might’ve been all joke-y and happy yesterday, but this chick really didn’t seem to like him, and being stared down by her was not fun for him.
“So… want breakfast?”

Deleted user

Her eyes shut and she inhaled deeply. Still not Homer…..This still was not a dream. Sage hung her head and nodded.

Werry looked down at his feet. “Um… the only thing I have is granola. Do you want me to bring some in? So you can stay in the light?”

Deleted user

Stay in the light? He must have been talking about staying in the room. Sage gave another nod and laid back down. Her wrapped hand rested on her arm. Another reminder of the night before. She was still in this basement, but against her will, her heart was calming.

Werry slipped out of the room with a faint sigh. He shook himself and started to walk at a brisk pace, looking out for his monsters. When he reached his kitchen, a smaller one was there. It seemed to have a faint skin tone of blue to it with little legs holding it up. It wasn’t as blobby as the other monsters, it almost seemed human-like. But… not. It still had tons of warpped faces and hanging arms.

Once he was gone, she moved from the bed and crept into the bathroom, locking the door behind her. She slid to the floor and brought her knees to her chest. The fear was still there — She had no idea how to get out of here and what was waiting for her when she did decide to try again — But, there was also that eerie calm, like peace before a storm, within her. She was safe in this room, or so she believed. As long as she stayed her, she didn't have to worry about the monsters outside or the heavy, unearthly darkness.

Werry crossed the room slowly, sticking his arms out past his clothing.
“Hi B. How are you today?” He asked slowly and softly. The monster rose its head and crooned softly up at him, pressing its head into his hand.

Sage used the bathroom and splashed some water on her face before returning to the bed. She returned to her quilt cocoon and remained that way.

Werry smiled and walked across the room to a fridge. “Here you are.” He held out a tiny piece of chicken nugget.
B wobbled over, licking up the nugget happily.

(((Awwwwww!))

Sage looked to her bandaged hand. It didn't hurt as bad as it did last night. Dr. Werry had done a good job. A small smile formed on her lips as she traced the lining of the bandages, it was so neat. He honestly didn't seem as bad as he'd acted.

B crooned for more and Werry laughed softly. “Okay, little guy. One more.” He rummaged around in the fridge, grabbed out another piece and handed it down. The monster gobbled it up happily.
