"Eh, you can call me whatever you want as long as it's not rude. But, yeah, most people just call me Dani, and one of my friends back home calls me Bunny." Danielle shrugged a bit, then turned to Annika. "And uh, I guess I like to do a lot of things. I run track, played basketball for a while, I like exploring. What about you?"
"I-I don't mind. Complicated sounds fun." Marcus smiled, then looked at the floor. "I mean, i-if you don't wanna tell me, you don't have to, but I-I really don't mind hearing about it."
Annika shrugged. “Well, I play guitar, sing, draw, and I’m a huge theater kid. I’m not really athletic, the only excersize that I really enjoy is movin’ around on stage.” she said with a smile.
Otis licked his teeth and ran his hands through his hair. “Well…uh, if..if you wanna read it, I- I guess you can…” he said, not really wanting to explain it.
"Ahh, gotcha." Danielle smiled. I knew she struck me as a theatre girl. "What kind of theatre do you do?"
Marcus nodded, sitting on the floor next to the bed. "I..do like to read." He said, giving a small smile. He hoped he wasn't making Otis uncomfortable.
"Oh, anything!" Annika repiled. "I haven't had many major parts, except once I played a lead role as a guy but that was a small play." she said, beginning to ramble. "And I'm auditioning for a reproduction of Annie in November. I'm hoping to be one of the orphan girls. Maybe July or Duffie or Pepper. But who knows? Maybe there'll be completely different characters like they did in the 2014 version. They completely screwed it up in my opinion but that's just my opinion and sorry, I'm rambling…" she said, blushing as she took a deep breath.
Otis pressed his lips together. "Okay…" he said, blusing as he gently handed the book to Marcus. He looked out the window and tousled with his hair as Marcus read the book.
Danielle laughed, waving her hand. "It's totally fine, I used to do that a lot, too. Nice to know you got a lot in ya." She leaned over a bit and looked at the clock on the wall. "Hey, when do we get to eat?"
Marcus grinned as he read through Otis' story, then looked up at him when he was near done. "Y-you don't..seem very proud of this." He said, looking back down to finish reading.
Annika grinned, then looked at the clock. "We should be leaving for the dining hall in about 10 or so minutes." she replied.
Otis shrugged and bit on his lip. "It-it's not that good…" he said.
"Alrighty." Danielle nodded. "Until then..how 'bout we play a game?"
"I like it." Marcus said, smiling and passing the book back to Otis. "You should write more. I, o-on the other hand, am not the best writer."
(Okie dokie)
“Okay, what kind of game?” Annika asked Danielle.
Otis blushed. “Th-thank you…” he said, gently taking the book.
(I might not be on too much, I'm pretty busy :)
Danielle used her hands to squish her own cheeks together as she hummed in thought. "20 Questions? Or- oh! Truth or Dare!" She bounced in her place a little, smiling at Annika.
"I-I, umm..if you want.." Marcus said quietly, looking at his lap. "I-I draw, kind of..I could show you s-some of my pictures.."
(Okie dokie :3)
Annika grinned, with a little laugh. “Alright. Truth or Dare?” she asked Danielle.
“O-okay…” Otis said with a smile.
"Dare. I always start with a dare." Danielle stated bravely. "Call me cocky, but I'm pretty good with dares."
Marcus nodded, quickly standing to climb up to his bed. He pulled a notebook from under his pillow and climbed back down. "U-um, fair warning, t-they..probably look like how you feel about your w-writing.." He said, then handed the book to Otis.
“Hmm…I dare you..to yell parallelogram at the top of your lungs in the dining hall.” Annika dared.
Otis half smiled, not sure if it was a compliment or a critique. “W-wow…” Otis said when he opened the notebook. “These are g-g-g-amazing!” he said, flipping through the pages.
"Ha! Alrighty. At least it comes later." Danielle straightened up a bit, playfully narrowing her eyes. "Truth or Dare?"
Marcus blushed, sitting on the floor again. "I-I just..r-really like fantasy stuff…" He muttered, then worriedly asked, "I don't sound l-like a huge nerd, d-do I?"
“Oh, crud!” Annika said. “Truth. I’ve just met you, but with what I’ve learned, you’re gonna make me do something CRAZY.”
Otis shook his head.
"Smart girl." Danielle laughed. "Okay, we'll start easy. Do you have any celebrity crushes, and who are they?"
Marcus nodded slightly, looking at the floor. "O-okay..gool..I-I mean, cool! I..my brain combined 'cool' and 'good'.." He sighed, putting his face in his hands.
Annika rolled her eyes. “Um, not really, tbh. Okay, truth or dare?”
Otis looked down at the floor. “It-it’s fine…” he said, again, not sure what to say.
"Dare; gimme another one." Danielle said excitedly. This is nice! I wonder how Marcus is doing with that other kid..
Ugh, Stars, why must I be so awkward!? Marcus peeked at Otis, then glanced down as his stomach growled the slightest bit. "Um..d-do you know when we go to dinner?" He asked quietly.
"Hoo, boy." Annika said, trying to think of a dare. "Oh! I dare you… to sing showtunes in the middle of the gym for Free Time!" she said, obviously pretty pleased with herself.
Otis could obviously see that Marcus was uncomfortable, but Otis didn't know what to do, so he simply answered- still looking at the ground, "Um, ten minutes, I think."
"Uuhgghh, you darned theater kid." Danielle groaned, throwing her head back dramatically. "But, I mean, I guess I did ask for it, so fine. Any suggestions on that? Also, truth or dare?"
Marcus nodded, looking back to the floor. "Okay, thanks. I-I'm just gonna…" With a quiet sigh, he stood and headed up the ladder to his own bed.
Annika giggled. "Annie?" she suggested. "Also, truuuuth…?" she said slowly, and unsurely.
"Kay." Otis said, slowly continuing to write in his journal and quietly hum songs.
"Mmm..I don't know much of Annie." She kept her head back for a moment, thinking of something to ask. "Hm. Can you tell me something embarrassing you did when you were younger? Like, before you knew any better?"
Marcus flopped onto his pillow, pushing out a breath of air as he stared out the window. He looked at his notebook, then turned onto his back and looked through it, an idea forming.
"Well, funny story, I used to lick my toes, and then lick play-doh, because they tasted the same…" Annika said, blushing but smiling at the same time.
Otis got a little lost in the world of his notebook, and began quietly singing to himself. He hated to admit it, even though everyone said it-he was pretty good.
(Hii)
Danielle cringed, but couldn't help but laugh as she covered her mouth and snickered. "Gross, dude. Okay, I'll save ya the trouble of asking and say, truth."
Marcus rolled and leaned over the bed, silent as he studied Otis for a few moments before leaning back and reaching under his pillow for his pencil bag.
