Kelton couldn't help but laugh a bit as he bowed gracefully one last time, looking as if he had done this a dozen times before, before awkwardly walking away.

"Weirdo," Piper said under her breath. She smiled to herself, remembering an inside joke she and Kelton used to have.
"Oh shut up," Kelton replied, the smile still on his face.
They were coming up on the dance studio now, and Iām a few steps they were pushing open the large double doors.
Kelton looked at the double doors, looking just a bit nervous for a second. Why am I nervous? I'm not even going to get the scholarship anyway.
The students were all at the barre or on a bench, preparing themselves for class. Piper slipped on her pointe shoes and joined them. She sat for a second, making circles with her toes.
Kelton also joined Piper after he put on his pointe shoes, smiling at Piper. "Hello again, I'm here to annoy the crap out of you."
"Yay," she replied sarcastically. She stood on her toes and did a few stretches, then got really close to his face. "But the question is, can you keep up?"
Kelton's face turned red when Piper came close to his face. "Oh, puh-lease, it's you who is going to be behind."
She grinned, then turned back to her stretching. "Alright then, I guess we'll just have to see."
"I guess we will just have to see then," Kelton replied, starting to do some leg stretches.
Just then, their dance teacher walked in and interrupted their banter. She clapped her hands in the air.
"Alright, everyone in first position," she said. Her chin was held high to indicate that the students should use good posture.
Kelton quickly got into the first position, not wanting to anger the teacher today. He was hoping the dance teacher wasn't salty today.
Mrs. Anderson walked up and down the classroom floor, carefully inspecting each student's positioning before directing them to change to second position. And then third, then fourth, and so on. They did some more stretches, then Mrs. Anderson started to pass around a sign up sheet.
"Write your name, your partner's name, and your dance on this sheet, then pass it along. Quickly," she tapped her stick on the floor.
Kelton waited for the sheet to get to him, glancing at Piper and smiling at her. When the sheet had finally gotten to him, he wrote down his and Piper's fake names and their dance before passing it to the person on his left.
After the sheet was signed, everyone separated to begin practice. Cassie ended up working with Jenna, and they came over to practice near Piper and Kelton.
Kelton smiled at Cassie when she came over to them. "Hello again, Queen of Ballet."
Cassie just nodded and smiled. Then the pairs began to go over their own performances, occasionally asking each other's opinion on their dances. Piper and Kelton were very in tune to each other already, so they didn't need too much help.
"I think we're all good now," Kelton mumbled, glancing at Piper to see if she thought the same or not.
She reached down to grab her water bottle, then pulled the tab and took a drink.
"Maybe one more time, just to be sure we've got it?"
Kelton nodded. "Sure," He smiled at Piper. He regretted staying up late last night, really needing something to keep him awake for the rest of the day.
Piper moved a few feet away from Kelton, then nodded to indicate she was ready to begin. Her body moved across the floor with great freedom; precision wasn't really her thing. When they were coming up on the lift, she twirled herself around, then stopped to face Kelton.
Kelton gracefully moved across the floor, stopping when he was facing Piper. You could tell he was tired if you looked at his eyes, dark circles had started forming under his eyes and they weren't as bright as they usually were.
She braced herself, putting pressure on his arms as he lifted her up in the air. He twirled her around, then she gracefully slid over his shoulder and back down. The dance required them to hold onto each other for a brief moment.
Kelton did all the moves perfectly, arms straight, legs straight, etc. He gave Piper a tiny smile right before she slid over his shoulder and went back to doing her part.
