"Ok, maybe. . . this one?" She pointed to a song at the bottom of the playlist. "Actually I've been working on a choreo for this one, and it'd be fairly easy to make it two people instead of one."
Kelton glanced at the song's name and nodded. "Sure!"
The continued to throw out ideas for the rest of dance class, until it was time to leave. As soon as Mrs. Anderson dismissed class, Kelton's friends rallied around him and Piper to collect their things. She didn't have time to do anything accept slip a note into his hand and walk out.
Kelton was almost immediately bombarded with questions when Mrs. Anderson dismissed class. They all either asked who the girl he was talking to was or asking him if he had a crush on her. He just shook his head and replied with a simple. "No, to all those questions," and managed to make his way out before heading out of the class.
She headed down to the library to drop off one of her books, and also to get some peace and quiet. What am I gonna do? she thought to herself. She had to be very careful about not telling people too much about herself, otherwise she might let the truth slip out. But how was she supposed to be friends with Kelton without people asking too many questions? And how could she not be friends with Kelton?
Kelton made it out of the studio and slipped into the library, quietly humming to a song he was listening to. He usually stayed at the library for a while before heading to the cafe to work his day shift.
Piper peeled her head out from behind a stack of books when she heard the door squeak, and to her surprise she saw Kelton walk in. But then Cassie walked in. Oh boy, she thought.
Kelton quickly went over to the librarian and smiled kindly at her. "Hey, got anything I can do?" She nodded and handed him a heap of books. "Can you sort these out and put them in the right places?" Kelton nodded and went over to a table so he could start sorting.
What to do, what to do, she thought to herself. She decided to try to sneak past his table instead of saying hi.
Kelton didn't look up or anything as he sorted out the books, occasionally getting up to put away some of the books in the right places. Why are there so many books?
She managed to get to the door without being seen, but the door was really loud. She took a deep breath, then opened the door as quietly as she could and ran out really fast.
Kelton went back to his table and managed to quickly sort through all the books, quickly putting them all away. He stood up and waved goodbye to the librarian before heading out towards the cafe he worked at.
That was a close one, she thought to herself. But even though she had evaded Kelton then, she would have to come up with something to tell Cassie sooner or later.
Kelton still had his earbuds in as he quietly walked to the cafe, glad that he had taken afternoon classes instead of morning classes. He quietly hummed along to the song as he made his way, opening the door and walking into the only employee's section.
She decided that she had enough drama for one day and headed to her room.
Kelton smiled at some of the other people that waved at him and started his shift after he put his phone and earbuds away.
(Time skip?)
(Yes)
The next morning, Piper couldn’t wait to get to English class. They had a work day coming up, which really meant that since she was a week ahead, she could listen to music and do whatever else she wanted.
Kelton had his earbuds back in again as he quietly walked to his first class, Criminology. They were currently 'working' on a suicide case but Kelton thinks it's murder and no one believes him yet.
She started out just sketching basic things, but by then end of class she had a whole new set of original characters.
Kelton quickly nodded along as the teacher kept telling them more about the suicide and what they were going to do today.
She was also thinking about Kelton and how she would explain him to Cassie when she got the chance.
