Kelton groaned when he realized they were going to have to do a speech about what they thought about the case.

(Timeskip to lunch?)
(Sure)
Piper walked through the double doors and headed straight to her favorite table near a window in the back. The sky was purely blue, with no clouds in sight, so there were plenty of students eating outside that she could see perfectly well from her window. They were most likely to be the subjects of the next few pages of her sketchbook.
Kelton walked into the cafeteria while reading a book, occasionally muttering sorry to whoever he bumped into. He usually did it, walking into the cafeteria while reading and coming out reading the same book.
She looked up to see Kelton walking in her general direction, and called out to him to get his attention.
“Hey! Max!”
Kelton quickly looked up when he heard his name and smiled at Piper. "Oh, hey Gwen."
She waved him over to the seat next to him.
"We need to figure out what our story is gonna be," she said in a low voice.
"True, I almost forgot about that." Kelton muttered back, sitting down in a seat next to her.
“What if we said we went to the same school a long time ago? Because we can’t tell them we were best friends, otherwise they’ll want to know details from us about eachother.”
"Sounds good, then we wouldn't have to answer a lot of questions." Kelton replied.
"ok, and if they ask anymore questions, just keep it vague?"
Just as Piper said that, Cassie entered the lunchroom. "Time to practice," Piper said in a low voice.
Kelton nodded and smiled a bit at Cassie. "Oh-hey."
“Hi!” Cassie replied in a squeaky voice. Her golden hair bounced as she talked.
"Are you one of Gwen's friends?" Kelton asked smoothly, he had perfected the art of lying over the past few years.
“Yep! My name’s Cassie.” Her freckles danced across her cheeks as she smiled, her eyes sparkling.
“Who are you?”
"I'm Max," Kelton answered, holding his hand out and smiling at her.
She shook it vigorously, then she turned to Piper.
"Guess what? They added brownies to the menu. Brownies." She pointed at her tray.
Piper raised her head and eyebrows. "Really? I'm sure your happy about that, although I really don't think you need any more sugar right about now,' she replied, and snagged a piece of Cassie's brownie.
Kelton chuckled and watched the both of them, occasionally looking away so he didn't look like a creep.
"So what class did you two meet in?" Cassie asked Kelton. Piper's heart began to beat just a tiny bit faster.
"History, we were paired together for a project," Kelton replied smoothly, his heart also beating just a bit faster.
Piper shot him a look that was meant to say, Really? We literally just talked about this. We were SUPPOSED to say that we used to go to the same school! She wanted to facepalm so bad, but she just kept quiet.
Kelton looked back at her with a look was meant to say, I know what I'm talking about, so shush.
With that, she just put her head on the table. Oh lord, she thought to herself.
Kelton rolled his eyes and glanced at Cassie, smiling at her again.
