"Fine then," Piper sighed out of frustration. She went over to Cassie and asked what was wrong with Jared. "He told me to ask you if I wanted to know," she said.
"Fine then," Piper sighed out of frustration. She went over to Cassie and asked what was wrong with Jared. "He told me to ask you if I wanted to know," she said.
Tanner coughed a little and sighed. he mouthed "Tell her something else." to Cassie. He messed with the bracelet a little.
"He-Um, well, he was just telling me-uh, he told me that he was homesick?" Cassie said, looking over Corina's shoulder at Jared.
"Thank you" he mouthed and sighed. He hoping piper believed her. If she didn't he didn't know what to do. He was still curled up in a ball.
"Really?" Piper turned to look at Tanner. "You couldn't have just said that?" She was beginning to be annoyed with him a bit, to be honest.
He couldn't have just said it and not been dramatic? He couldn't have not wasted so much of my break?
Tanner flinched. Good job idiot now she's mad at you. There goes your chance even if you had one He gets up and runs off.
(Dude you must be on notebook.ai all day bc you always respond right after me lol)
Piper just sighed. "He really needs to learn to be less dramatic. He wasn't like that before I left," she said to Cassie.
"I agree, he's babyish," Xander said from a few feet away.
"But he's still my friend, and you have no right to talk about him like that," Piper responded firmly.
Tanner sat in the corner as Nancy walks out. "Well well…If it isn't Jarred crying."
"Leave me alone…"
"He's had a rough life, Corina," Cassie said. Piper widened her eyes.
"So all of a sudden you know everything about his life and I don't? When did that happen?"
Tanner was pushed down. "Stop sulking and speak to me properly," Nancy yelled loudly.
"S-Stop…"
Piper and Cassie's conversation was cut short by a yell they heard from the hallway.
"It sounds like Nancy,we'd better check it out," Piper said. She turned to head out the door, but Xander grabbed her arm.
"Don't you wanna practice?" Xander asked with a smile.
"Let me go, we'll practice later," Piper said. She and Cassie followed the yell.
Tanner was curled up into a ball. "I said answer me. Why do you seem to be around Cornia?"
He just stayed curled up.
The two girls ran up to see Tanner in a ball, with Nancy looming over him. Piper ran up and grabbed Nancy's arm.
"Watch it, you're on thin ice," Piper said, and pushed Nancy back. Then she stood between her and Tanner.
Tanner was crying. This was one of his triggers. He hated the yelling. He hated being alone. He looked at Piper but his vision was blurry.
Piper held her hand out to Tanner for him to grab. Cassie kept her eye on Nancy, knowing that she would probably try something.
Then Xander ran up, and stood next to Cassie. He stood there, looking at Tanner with a bit of disgust.
Tanner hesitantly took Piper's hand. He stayed behind her hoping he didn't get yelled at again. He hid his face from everyone.
"You are so extra," Nancy started talking again. She never knew when to just leave it alone. "I was just asking him a question. Why do you always feel the need to butt in?"
"Because you never know when to butt out," Piper responded without missing a beat.
He squeezed Piper's hand a little. "C-Can we go…" He said noticing Xander's expression. and curling up a little.
Piper turned and smiled her old smile. Not the one she learned to smile to tell everyone she was okay, but the one she really meant. THe one she used to make when she and Tanner snuck into her mom's house and stole some cookies. The one she smiled when they raced each other in the park with the sun beaming down on their faces. No one saw the smile but Tanner.
"Sure. Let's get out of here," she said, and pulled him down the hallway. She stopped for a second when she heard Xander speak.
"What about practice?!" he called after her.
"Later!" she said without turning around.
"I-I think Xander hates me…" He said looking back at him then to her. "He didn't seem happy when you skipped practice…"
"Ah, he's just a tryhard," Piper responded. She looked Tanner in the eyes.
"Why did you ask Cassie to lie to me? What was really the problem in there?"
Tanner froze up" U-Uh…." He looked away he felt the heat rise to his cheeks. "I-I didn't…I do feel homesick…" he lied trying not to say the truth.
"Tanner, I know you. We were-are best friends. I mean, if you still want to be. . ." Piper realized that she might have been pushing him too hard. Maybe he didn't want to be friends anymore.
See just friends… "You wouldn't understand…If i told you you'd laugh at me…Or worse ruin our friendship." He looked at her then the ground.
"I thought you knew me better than that," she huffed. "I won't judge you. I didn't judge you when you told me about your mom. I didn't judge you whenever you told me about heavy stuff."
