"I-I'm fine…" he said not looking at her.
"I-I'm fine…" he said not looking at her.
Cassie followed his gaze over to Corina and Xander, and a lightbulb went off in her head.
"You like her, don't you?"
He looked at her. "N-No…" he said blushing badly.
"You can tell me, Jared. I promise I won't say anything about it to Corina. But i can tell! I see the way you look at her." She nudged his shoulder.
"…I know she won't like me back…" He said looking down at the bracelet. "I can tell she likes someone else…" tears started falling down.
"Jared, pull yourself together, dude," Cassie said as she scooted closer to him. "A word of advice? Don't go to the corner every time you get uncomfortable. The more you show people your personality, the more likely they are to like it. I don't know how Corina feels about you, but she wont feel anything if you don't come outta your shell a bit."
"Easy for you to say…You don't have a problem with socializing…" He said looking at piper the xander then to himself. "I'm just messed up…"
"No. You can't think that way. Actually. . ." Cassie hesitated for a second. "I used to be just like you. When I was like 13, I never used to talk to anybody. And I thought that if I came out of my shell, it would be tiring. But I was really wrong. Something about being upbeat all the time gives you energy. You should try it!"
"I don't know…I would freez up…Badly…" He looked at her with a worried expression.
"We'll start easy," Cassie put a hand on Tanner's shoulder. "I'll go over to Xander and Corina with you, and we can just hang out over there instead of over here. Okay?"
"…I guess I can try…" He said looking at her. "I feel like I'd embarrass myself…" He said laughing very awkwardly to himself.
“Come on, I’ll help you,” Cassie said. She stood up and waited for Tanner to do the same.
"O-Ok…" He stands up slowly
They made their way back over to Xander and Piper.
"We're just gonna watch," Cassie said.
Tanner looked over to piper the back down. He didn't know what to say anymore. He felt like he didn't belong. "W-What she said…"
Piper noticed Tanner's discomfort, and she figured that Cassie had dragged him over. She would be one to make him uncomfortable.
"Hey, Xander?" she said as they had finished a section of their moves. "Let's take a break?"
Tanner sits on the floor not knowing what to say. He looked over and noticed Nancy staring at him. He curls up into a tight ball
"Yeah, sure no problem. I'm going down to the hub to get some water," Xander said, and went out of the classroom.
"Hey," Piper said softly (which was really unlike her) and sat down next to Tanner. "What's up?"
"N-nothing…" he said looking at his feet.
"Yeah right. I may not have seen you for six years," she said, lowering her voice so Cassie couldn't hear, "But I knew you like the back of my hand when I left. What's wrong?"
"…I said it's nothing" he said scooting away. "I'm the same as I've always been…" He said not realizing how much he's changed."
"Is it me?" Piper lowered her voice even more with the realization that it very well could be her. "Did I do something? Or what about that text from your mom? Is she still acting the way she used to? Please, tell me what's wrong. I-" she still really didn't want to admit what she was about to say, "I care about you. I don't want to see you in pain and not do anything about it."
"I-I…You wouldn't understand…Or you would but not the same way…God, I don't even know anymore.." he said holding his head in his hands.
“What wouldn’t I understand? I promise I won’t make fun of you to anything, I just want to know.”
He shook his head. "If you want to know just ask your friend…" he pointed to Cassie.
