Nova scooted away from Wren.
Nova scooted away from Wren.
"Hm." Ashton didn't like what he saw, but he had no right to tell them to stop. He clicked his tongue and closed the door. "Lily? you in here?" He send softly when he heard sobs coming from where they keep the haystacks. "Don't come near me!" She hissed. He sat across from her, not saying anything.
Wren felt Nova scoot away and sighed. He knew this was a bad idea and put his shirt back on and stood up, “Sorry, I shouldn’t have said anything.”
Nova watched as Ashton left. She focused her attention back on Wren. "How…?"
“How what?” He said with leathal calm.
"What happened?" She grabbed his wrist and pulled him back onto the couch.
Wren let her pull him back down, “Parents who don’t give a crap about there kids.”
"Please, don't cry." He went to touch her shoulder but pulled away. With the way she is now, she would kill him if he touched her. "Whose fault do you think it is that I'm crying in the first place?" She stood and left, she couldn't stand the sight of him. Lily slowly opened the door "Sorry guys, continue." She said her eyes still full of tears. She felt bad but this is the only place that Ashton wouldn't follower her.
Nova looked at Lily in the eyes. She was in the middle of something.
Wren didn’t look at Lily, only kept his gaze on his guitar.
Nova looked at the guitar. "Can you play me something?"
“Okay.” He picked it up and started playing Faded by Alan Walker. He sung the lyrics as he went,
“You were the shadow to my light, did you feel us? Another start, you fade away.
Afraid our aim is out of sight, wanna see us, alive.”
There was always one person Lily could go to. Jason. He was here once a few years ago and he was the only one who kept in touch with her. Her phone ringed. "Hello, Lily? She smiled at the sound of his voice. "Hey, Jason. What are you doing right now?" The phone made a crackling sound and stopped after a few seconds "Are you crying?" She nodded even if he couldn't see her "Yeah." She talked to him with everyone was away.
Nova scooted closer to, pressing him up against the arm of the couch.
“Where are you now? Was it all in my fantasy. Where are you now? Were you only imaginary. Where are you now?” He glanced at Nova a few times as he sang and played. He hadn’t played for anyone for ages.
Nova put her legs up on the couch and laid her head on Wren's shoulder. He was a really good singer.
Ashton opened the door. "Is Lily in here?" He said in a soft tone. He felt so bad for making her cry. He hated to see girls cry, but it was his fault. He needs to properly apologize to her.
Nova didn't move. "I think she's on the phone in the kitchen."
Wren didn’t stop as he finished off the last lyrics of the song, “So lost, I'm faded.” Even though the song was technically over, he didn’t stop playing.
"You're pretty good at this. How'd you learn?"
“Self taught, YouTube videos, library books.” He said, starting to play the tune of I dreamed a dream from Les Mis.
"Hm. That's pretty hard to do, isn't it? I tried to give myself voice lessons like that, but failed. Still a bad singer."
Ashton nodded and headed to the kitchen. He heard Lily laughing and peeked around the corner. How could she smile so soon after crying? "Yeah, I wish you were here." Lily lead against the countertop "I wish I was there too. I would beat that guy up for you." Jason laughed "Call me anytime okay? I have to go now." Lily moved the phone to the other ear. "Yeah, I'll call you later." She smiled before hanging up. Ashton felt a bit awkward after hearing the conversation. So he just stood there.
“Ah, guitar is probably easier then singing.” He said, laughing a little.
(So. I'm probably going to bring Lily's friend Jason in just to make thing a bit more interesting. He probably won't stay long though.)
