Stay where you are Macha. I said I would keep you safe. He thought, pulling the man into a side alley and glaring at him. “What do you want?” He growled, the demon purring inside him.
I'm on my way. Macha frantically looked around for Tyler and the man, but they were nowhere to be seen. Where are you??
“Just you. You’re too dangerous. We can’t keep letting you escape.” The man glared back. “Oh that’s nothing to do with me. That sounds like your own problem.” He smiled coldly. Stay. Where. You. Are.
Where. Are. You?
Macha ducked from alley to alley, panic rising and determination steeling.
I am not letting him hurt you again.
“So stay off her, if you know what’s best for you. No more back up. My father is dead. You’re on your own.” He said, pressing the man up against the wall angrily, his shirt bunched in Tyler’s fist.
And I'm not letting you get captured by them again!
Where were they? The tide of Macha's fear was rising quickly, threatening to drown her.
Tyler??
Im not letting them capture me either.
Tyler felt a rush of anger course through him and slammed the mans head against the wall, knocking him out. He walked out of the alley and looked around for Macha.
Macha caught a flash of blue hair up ahead and ran through the crowd, dodging people. "Tyler!"
Tyler turned around and pulled Macha into his arms.
“C’mon, we have to go. Now.”
"Tyler, what happened??" She let him pull her along. "Where– where is the man? Are you okay??"
“Yeah I’m fine, keep walking. He’ll come looking when he comes to.”
Macha did as he instructed, trying to steady her erratic breathing. “Explain what happened, from the beginning.”
“I..I thought he would leave, but apparently not. He said he was after me. I told him not to hurt you. I don’t think he’ll listen though. We need to be careful.”
Macha inhaled sharply. “Oh god.”, she muttered, tugging him closer as they walked. “What do we do?”
"We either leave here, or don't leave the house."
“You mean leave—“ she gestured around her, heart squeezing, “— the town? Tyler, do we even have the money?”
"We don't have to. I'm just saying it's an option."
“But what else would we do?? Stay cooped up? For how long?”
“I..I don’t know. I’m sorry Macha..”
“Don’t be sorry, it’s not- it’s not your fault. We’ll figure something out,” Macha wrapped an a around his side and gave him a comforting squeeze.
Tyler held her close, glancing back behind them nervously from time to time. “We can either stay here or leave. It’s up to you.”
Macha faltered. “What if— what if we—“ Her mind flashed back to her visions. Was this how it all began?
“If we managed to apprehend him—“
“And how would that end? I don’t want either of us getting hurt again, especially you.”
“But— we cant be on the run forever— eventually he’ll find us-“, Macha protested, throwing anxious glances over her shoulder.
“Then we’ll deal with him when he finds us. I don’t want to be caught off guard again.”
