“Well, I agree with all of those things. Except cats. I’m allergic to cats,” Addie laughed.
“Well, I agree with all of those things. Except cats. I’m allergic to cats,” Addie laughed.
Archer hummed disappointedly. "That must be terrible for you," he teased.
“Tragic,” Addie agreed, gripping her coffee cup in both hands. “Whenever I read about a cat, it makes me sad. Unless, of course, I’m reading about evil cats.”
"Ah, yes. Evil cats. I knew a cat that was absolutely crazy," Archer mused.
“Ooh, spill,” Addie said excitedly, leaning forwards and steepling her fingers.
"Oh, he's my aunt's Siamese cat. I swear, he must have thought he was part dog, part spider, part vampire…" Archer shook his head at the memory. "He was the weirdest thing. He'd try to climb the walls, and he bit my cousin's neck once…"
“Sounds like he was a truly bizarre hybrid,” Addie smiled. “Besides the part about the biting… was your cousin okay?”
"Yeah, she was fine. It was really more like a nip than a bite," Archer explained.
“That’s good,” Addie nodded. “Did your aunt get rid of the cat?”
//I love how we’re making up a backstory for a cat lol
(Oh, no. This actually happened. Lol. Not joking. My aunt's cat is crazy.)
"No, she did not. She still has the crazy thing," Archer chuckled.
//omg wow
“Huh. Not what I would’ve done…” Addie laughed. “My mum had a cat when I was little. It died when I was five… but it never liked me, anyways.”
(Yeah… His name is Azure, coincidentally… Azure is "cerulean" in French.)
"Well, I'm sorry to hear about that. But the cat is really only crazy around our extended family…" Archer shrugged.
//XD
Addie smiled. “So I guess it isn’t so bad.” She twirled the charm on her bracelet in her fingers. “Do we have any plans today?”
"Besides lunch? No, I don't think so," Archer said with a shrug. "Would you like to do something with me?"
“If you’re free,” Addie said, not meeting his eyes. “You can say no. I feel kinda bad for just appearing all of a sudden and taking over a small bit of your summer.”
Archer clicked his tongue. "Absurdité. I've enjoyed you're company."
Addie smiled. “Okay then.” She pulled her phone out of her pocket. “I’m scheduled for a tour of the (French place) at eleven… now for two people.” Addie turned her phone so that Archer could see the screen, which displayed two tickets for (French location.)
(Lol. What about the Palace of Versailles?)
Archer glanced at the phone screen and grinned.
"All right, sounds fun. I can't remember the last time I was there."
//yes that XD
“Yay! It’s a date,” Addie said, putting her phone away. She froze, her phone halfway in her purse, when she realized what she’d said. “I mean… um… see you at eleven?”
Archer grinned. "Yeah, I'll see you then."
Did she want it to be a date? I was kind of hoping that lunch would be one, but it doesn't seem as if she realized that…
//same, Archer, same.
Ahh, I screwed up. He looks so confused, what if he didn’t want to come? Agh, what if I roped him in to this, and he doesn’t want to? I’m a terrible friend-of-less-than-two-days. You know what, Addie? Play it cool.
“Yep, see you then! I’m just gonna head back to my hotel and… uh… yeah.” Addie got up and practically ran out of the cafe, her cheeks burning.
Way to not play it cool, Addie.
Aaaaaaand… Now she's gone. Good job, man, you scared her off.
Archer sighed and stood. He made his way to his apartment, shaking his head in confusion.
It was 10:30. Okay, Addie. You have a half an hour to figure out how to not sound insane, and/or embarrass yourself.
Archer reached his apartment and quickly went up to his suite. He searched his closet for something nice to wear, hoping that whatever he would pick would look good.
Addie changed her T-shirt to an ok blouse and then walked to the Palace. Don’t be weird. Don’t be weird.
Archer decided on a nice blue shirt and a nicer pair of jeans. Once he was satisfied with his look, he took a Vespa to the Palace of Versailles.
Addie, her bag slung over her shoulder, waited by the entrance, tapping her foot anxiously.
At exactly eleven, Archer parked the scooter outside the palace. He spotted Addie and quickly made his way over to her, grinning.
"You look nice," he said when he reached her.
Addie smiled. “Thanks! You do, too.” She gestured to the entrance. “They’re admitting people now.”
