GLaDOS narrows her eyes at Arezias. “Strange little creature.” She glances at Avirex as Osir speaks to them. She stays still for a few more moments before walking away, lightly patting Avirex on the head as she leaves. No point in staying any longer.
Daphne huffs at Lili. “Yeah, I kinda guessed that.” She winces slightly. That was aggressive. “…Sorry.” She looks down, then looks back up at Lili. “The question is… how are we gonna get back?”
Avirex raises a brow at Osir. "I may seem young, but I am older than most here. Do not let appearances fool you." And for such a small thing, they sounded anything but afraid talking to one such as Osir.
They lower their head slightly when GLaDOS pats it, but inevitably it did nothing to stop her. They watch GLaDOS leave and consider following her. But then they look to the door Daphne and Lili were hiding behind.
Lili looks at Daphne sympathetically. She sits on the edge of the bed and sighs. "I don't know if we can."
And then there was a knock on the door before Avirex poked their head in. They were, of course, still greyed out to the two of them. But in usual skykids fashion they didn't know many boundaries. Or they knew and didn't really care.
"And? I am the oldest here," Osir shrugs. "It matters not to me if you are one of the oldest, since you are still a child to me."
Arezias grins at GLaDOS.
"I'm not a creature. I'm Arezias," they counter.
(By that logic, he flirted with a robot child.)
(Osir's a demon from the bottom layer of hell he could not care less- he is one of the worst people here.)
GLaDOS looks over her shoulder at Arezias as she leaves. “There’s no difference.” She turns a corner and disappears down the next hallway.
Daphne stares at Lili for a few moments, furrowing her brow slightly. But there has to be a way to get back home. She shakes her head slightly and sits down on the floor next to the bed, crossing her legs. She looks up as Avirex pokes their head in the door. “Well, hi-“
Lili looks up at Avirex as they open the door. Oh, yay, the skykid. Maybe I should have locked the door. She watches as they get closer and again extend their hand in greeting, this time to Daphne.
Avirex looked between the two of them and then went inside the room, keeping the door cracked open. They decided to go to Daphne first, because she was on the floor. Closer down to them.
Daphne stares at Avirex as they approach her. When they hold out their hand to her, she for a moment, then quickly taps Avirex’s hand, hoping that would be enough for them.
GLaDOS makes her way down a flight of stairs, looking around at the next room she enters. It’s a kitchen, with a door near the corner that she could only assume leads to a pantry. Interesting. I guess these creatures still need sustenance to live.
The kitchen leads to a sitting area, with more than enough seats for everyone there. There was a door on the opposite wall, and considering the fact that sunlight is filtering through its small window, that door leads outside.
GLaDOS walks over to the door and opens it, poking her head outside. She feels the warmth of the sunlight hitting her face and closes her eyes for a moment. This feels nice after being in a cold facility for so long. She opens her eyes again and walks outside, closing the door behind her. After wandering for a bit, she sits down on the ground next to a tree, watching her surroundings carefully.
Avirex gives Daphne a small nod after she taps their hand. They look over at Lili and hold their hand out to her, giving her the same gesture when she takes their hand.
They turn to leave, but hesitate. They glance back at Daphne and speak. "There's never always a way out. But do remain hopeful. Perhaps there is here."
And then they leave the room, back into the hallway. They look at Osir and Arezias once again, debating whether or not they wanted to be illuminated by the smaller one. Osir wasn't the best choice, and they had known that. They were just impatient. They would have to work on that. Though they never got around to it for the past… ugh, they never kept track anyway.
(Hey, I’m just gonna close this now, since I don’t think we need any more chaos lmao. Stubs, you still have a spot for whenever you feel like jumping in ^^)
(Sorry, but no. As I said above and in the title, I just closed this.)
(I would respond but there’s Another Human here)
Arezias stares at the fuzzy indistinct one, then walks up and pokes it.
"Helloooo? Are you a shade? Did you die recently? How did you die? Was it in a big explosion?" they ask, knowing full well they were being annoying - and enjoying it.
Osir sighs and shakes his head at the whole interaction.
How did I end up getting stuck here with a bunch of tiny people? Why is the only half-decent one the woman who just left. . . he thinks disparagingly.
(She wants nothing to do with any of y’all sorry 😔)
(But. Idiocy? Dumbassery? Jackassery? Chaos only possible with possibly psychopathic robot lady?)
(Just annoy her until she tries to kill someone idk)
Daphne stares at the ground and blinks a few times after Avirex speaks. How did they- She shakes her head and suddenly stands up, glancing at Lili. “I’m gonna go back out there. Can’t just hide in here forever-“ She starts walking toward the door, turning and waving awkwardly at Lili before slipping through the door, making sure to shut it behind her. She leans against the door for a while, just staring at everyone in the hallway with a slightly nervous look. …Maybe this was a bad idea.
Osir turns towards daphne and an air of curiosity spreads through the hall, in her direction.
He tilts his head, then between one breath and another he's right in front of the poor woman.
"Hello sweetheart. It is a pleasure to make your acqaintence. I am Duke Osir Iluna, of the Iluna ducal family, and current head of such," he says politely, and smoothly.
He takes her hand and kisses the back of it with his mask.
Arezias, again, gags. Loudly. Because yes.
Avirex narrowed they eyes at Arezias. To quickly end the interaction, they touched Arezias’s hand and backed up a few steps.
“I am not a shade, I cannot die, and if you mean the explosion you just created, no.” That was the quickest answer to all of those questions they could think of. Hopefully, with them illuminated, people would leave them alone. Being near all these different minds was giving Avirex a headache.
They tilted their head at Osir. Perhaps they shouldn’t comment on that, but it was so very tempting. From everyone’s point of view, he and GLaDOS were just like trees. They were normal. Speaking of GLaDOS, they should follow her…
Lili went to follow Daphne, stopping suddenly when Daphne closed the door. What, does she think I’m going to hide in here while she’s out there? She turns the door handle and steps out to the scene of Osir and Daphne.
Her wings flared out on either side of her subconsciously. She was mostly afraid for Daphne. Should she speak up, or say nothing till the whole ordeal was finished? Megabird, why have we been sent here-
(Hey does anyone wanna see a picrew I made of Avirex)
(Of course you do here they are: https://ibb.co/PjWfxrb)
Arezias giggles.
"Then why were you so fuzzy before? If you're not dead why are you so weird? Only dead people are this weird. Is everyone here dead?"
They fire off the questions so fast it was hard to keep up.
Avirex sighs. This one would be a challenge.
“I am a child of light. That should be enough to answer your questions.” They turn and walk away swiftly, not intent on answering any more questions.
They thought about Arezias’ last question though. And then they decided it was an absurd question. ”Is everyone here dead?” They certainly will be if Arezias talks to all of them like that.
(Avirex is smart. Brain rot is a very real possibility when interacting with this creature enough.)
(With you I’m not sure if that’s a joke or if people will start to have rotting brains)
(melts why is this so active while I’m at school)
