(Pff)
(Thank you. I might send a whispered explanation of Osir's full powers later, if it comes down to that.)
(As for the British friend, they're honestly not even that powerful but even Osir couldn't take them on. Arezias is so underrated in their appearances, yet they always manage to alter fate with even a single gesture. Isn't that fun?)
(O_o)
(I’d explain all the shit skykids and specifically avirex can do but uh. nah you get to find out-)
(Though, to be perfectly clear, Arezias is just a dude. They literally have no supernatural powers beyond immortality and super-fast regeneration.)
(throws pillows at y’all the starter’s coming at you soon be prepared)
(screm)
(So basically the context is uhh)
(Your characters fall asleep (or something similar) and when they wake up they’re in the place I described in the first post. Cool? Cool.)
After a long night of just staring at the ceiling, Daphne hadn’t gotten any sleep until probably past midnight. And even then, she was pretty restless the whole night.
Of course, none of this was new to Daphne. She couldn’t remember the last time she’d gotten any good sleep. At this point, she was just getting by on less than the bare minimum. And this night was no different.
Daphne woke up pretty early; at least, that’s what her internal clock said. But she could tell by the sunlight shining through the window in her room that it was way later than she thought. As a matter of fact… this isn’t her room at all.
She quickly sits up and looks around, still a little tired but definitely on edge. Don’t tell me I got kidnapped in my sleep or something. She slowly climbs out of the bed and makes her way to the door, opening it cautiously and poking her head through into the hallway.
“…Hello?”
GLaDOS looks around at her unfamiliar surroundings. She’d blacked out randomly while constructing some test chambers, and now she’s here. She was… confused, to say the least. Why was she moved here? It was obvious this place had nothing to do with Aperture, so she clearly didn’t serve any purpose in being here.
She slowly walks out of the room she woke up in, ducking quite a bit to get through the doorframe. Why are humans so little? She never understood why she was manufactured at this height, when most humans were half her size at best. It made doors a bit of a hassle.
As she narrows her eyes and looks around the hallway, a voice catches her attention.
“…Hello?”
It was the voice of a human girl. Probably in her teenage years. She looks over in the direction of the voice and tilts her head. That doesn’t exactly look like a human. Interesting… She could almost compare the voice to that of a turret. High-pitched and timid. Of course, this girl probably wasn’t full of bullets.
Lili had woken up in a completely unfamiliar room. She went to bed in her own place, in her own realm, and now she was here. As she looked around at the unfamiliar surroundings, the growing pit of anxiety started to get bigger. She took a few deep breaths to try and calm herself, which didn’t do anything. She hugged her knees to her chest and closed her eyes.
…Which quickly opened again when she heard a familiar voice. She stands up and opens the door, peeking her head out. “Daphne?”
Avirex slowly got out from the bed they had woken up from. They never “slept,” so how did they end up like that? And more importantly, where were they now? They narrow their eyes as they look at their surroundings. Most of the items were unfamiliar to them. Oh well.
They stepped towards the door, examining the handle on it before turning it slowly and opening the door. They step into the hall and look around at their surroundings, and the new people.
To anyone else, Avirex would look like a blurry grey figure, as if their eyes were unfocused. None of their features discernible, and their clothes had no color other than the uniform grey of everything else. (That’ll change, don’t worry.)
Daphne slowly walks out of the room into the hallway, then hears Lili and turns to look at her. “Lili-“ She quickly goes over to Lili and pulls her into a tight hug, squeezing her eyes shut. “Where are we-?” She asks, her voice wavering slightly. She’s seemingly unaware of her surroundings, only focusing on the one thing that’s familiar to her.
GLaDOS tilts her head at the humans-that-aren’t-actually-humans, particularly the little gray one. She slowly walks closer to it, her pupils fluctuating in size as she tries to focus on the little thing. She crouches down and pokes the thing lightly. “What are you?” Her tone has a sense of morbid curiosity as she stares at it. And why can’t I focus on it?
(Well there is no turn order,)
Lili makes a small noise in surprise, but quickly returns the hug. “I don’t know-“ She looks around at their surroundings, and the… what is that- Her eyes widen as she sees GLaDOS, moving back through the doorframe by a small step. Not much more than that, though, because Daphne was still tightly latched onto her. “Uh- Daphne-“
Avirex was a little offended by the sudden poke by the metal-woman, narrowing their eyes and taking a small step back. They looked at her eyes curiously as they changed size almost randomly. Interesting.
They hesitate for a second and then hold out a hand to GLaDOS, offering for her to take it.
(The creepy robot lady is succeeding in being creepy)
(Lili’s probably gonna have the same reaction to Null’s character, lol)
Daphne lets go of Lili after she steps back, blinking a few times, “Sorry-“ She tilts her head slightly, then looks around, quickly backing up against the wall as her gaze lands on GLaDOS. “What the fuck is that-”
GLaDOS hesitates as the little thing holds out it’s hand. She adjusts her gloves slightly, then awkwardly takes its hand. Daphne’s sudden outburst quickly catches her attention, and she turns her head to stare at Daphne and Lili. “What am I?” She studies the two of them for a moment before continuing. “I am a Genetic Lifeform and Disc Operating System, simply known as GLaDOS.” These creatures look like they’d make interesting test subjects. We’re probably nowhere near the Enrichment Center, though. Oh well.
Daphne narrows her eyes at GLaDOS. That barely answered my question. She stares at GLaDOS for a second, then shudders and decides to avoid eye contact with her. She leans toward Lili slightly and whispers, “She’s creepy as fuck.”
When GLaDOS takes Avirex’s hand, their form and colors become clear to her. They tilt their head as they look up at her. They couldn’t sense… anything from this woman. “For a lifeform, you are certainly brainless.” They retract their hand and look over at Daphne and Lili.
They recognized their species—Manta and Butterfly. At least something was familiar here. They likely wouldn’t be helpful for anything, though.
Lili looked a bit confused at GLaDOS’s “explanation.” Genetic lifeform? Do those even exist? Well, apparently they did. And they were terrifying. She shudders and moves a little closer to Daphne.
(Similarly sized creepy fuck and a friend coming right up.)
Osir wakes up.
He blinks.
Where in the name of Lord Sæthðs am I. . .? he thinks.
He looks at the unfamiliar room and sighs, walking to the door and opening it upon hearing voices.
His lyrical, light, lilting voice fills the hall.
"Who the fuck are you peo-" he starts.
A door is blown outwards with what seems to be extreme prejudice.
Arezias uncurls from their nap. Looking around, they notice one thing.
This wasn't burrow-home.
With a screech, they kick the door into the opposite wall and leap out into a feral crouch.
The creature looks at everyone, looking innocent.
Right until a shit eating grin pops onto their face, and they pull out a handful of cherry bombs and a lighter.
(uh oh)
(WOO-)
GLaDOS’s eyes widen slightly at Avirex’s comment. She glances back over at them and chuckles, an eerie, emotionless noise. “Brainless? I suppose that is technically true, even if it’s a bit rude.” She turns her attention back to Daphne and Lili, particularly Lili. “Your wings… I’ve never seen anything like it. A person with wings. How fascinating…” She analyzes Lili for a while, and her almost lifeless stare pierces into her soul.
Daphne gently takes Lili’s hand in a feeble attempt to comfort her a bit. “Why don’t you just leave us alone-” Her sentence is interrupted by someone kicking a door straight off it’s hinges. Daphne yelps and flinches back, staring at the two newcomers with wide eyes. “What in the name of Megabird is going on here?!”
GLaDOS starts to reach out towards Lili, then pauses and looks at the two new creatures. “Oh. More… things.” She seems completely unfazed, if anything, she’s even more curious now.
Lili steps back once again, now clearly on edge by GLaDOS and her tone of voice. And then she practically jumps when someone kicks down their door. She squeezes Daphne’s hand as she watches everyone. Now she wanted to hide in the unfamiliar room she had woke up in. But she didn’t want to leave Daphne with all of these people either.
Avirex has practically no reaction to GLaDOS’s comment. They do have a reaction, however, to the door kicked off of its frame and the similar-sized person to them appears from it. A curious reaction. What were they holding?
And then their face scrunches up a bit, as if they’re in pain. They glance over at Daphne and Lili—Lili in particular—and then shake their head to try and get rid of whatever was bothering them.
They stalk a bit closer to the newer arrivals, watching them with interest.
The tiny creature lights the lighter, then lights the fuses on the cherry bombs.
They then dive back into their room, cackling as the lit explosives scatter everywhere.
Osir, not expecting to see a creature the size of a literal husky, doesn't realize quite yet what's going on.
Not untill the explosions start happening.
At which point he just disappears.
The noise in the confines of the hall is deafening.
Lili widens her eyes when she realizes what's going and pulls Daphne into her room. She closes the door and covers her ears when the explosions start. "What in Eden-" She looks over at Daphne to make sure she's alright.
Avirex just… stands there as the explosions go off around them. They seem completely unfazed. And when the explosions end, they're left completely undamaged. They look around at the damage and dust themselves off. Curious.
(We love loud noises associated with danger)
Daphne stumbles slightly as Lili pulls her back into the room, backing into the wall and covering her ears when the explosions start. She starts shaking as she stares at the door with wide eyes, staying completely silent.
GLaDOS quickly stands up straight, looking around the hallway with an utterly confused look on her face. As the explosions end, she looks down at Avirex and tilts her head. “How are you still undamaged?“
Osir pops back into existence and sighs.
Muttering in Haula, he fixes his cloak and looks at the indistinct form of the other tiny creature that hadn't tried to blow everyone up.
"Well, I guess now is as good a time as any to ask everyone their names, is it not?" he chuckles.
Arezias tumbles out of their room, still cackling.
"I got you all! Ha! The looks on your faces!"
They spoke with a strong London accent, and now that they were no longer crouching it was clear that they really were just that short.
Their fashion statement was as much an affront to God as their accent, as well, with enough metal in their shoes and on their pants to send a SWAT team after them if they even stepped within a quarter mile of an airport. Their shirt was burnt looking but covered enough.
