(I would respond but there’s Another Human here)
Arezias stares at the fuzzy indistinct one, then walks up and pokes it.
"Helloooo? Are you a shade? Did you die recently? How did you die? Was it in a big explosion?" they ask, knowing full well they were being annoying - and enjoying it.
Osir sighs and shakes his head at the whole interaction.
How did I end up getting stuck here with a bunch of tiny people? Why is the only half-decent one the woman who just left. . . he thinks disparagingly.
(She wants nothing to do with any of y’all sorry 😔)
(But. Idiocy? Dumbassery? Jackassery? Chaos only possible with possibly psychopathic robot lady?)
(Just annoy her until she tries to kill someone idk)
Daphne stares at the ground and blinks a few times after Avirex speaks. How did they- She shakes her head and suddenly stands up, glancing at Lili. “I’m gonna go back out there. Can’t just hide in here forever-“ She starts walking toward the door, turning and waving awkwardly at Lili before slipping through the door, making sure to shut it behind her. She leans against the door for a while, just staring at everyone in the hallway with a slightly nervous look. …Maybe this was a bad idea.
Osir turns towards daphne and an air of curiosity spreads through the hall, in her direction.
He tilts his head, then between one breath and another he's right in front of the poor woman.
"Hello sweetheart. It is a pleasure to make your acqaintence. I am Duke Osir Iluna, of the Iluna ducal family, and current head of such," he says politely, and smoothly.
He takes her hand and kisses the back of it with his mask.
Arezias, again, gags. Loudly. Because yes.
Avirex narrowed they eyes at Arezias. To quickly end the interaction, they touched Arezias’s hand and backed up a few steps.
“I am not a shade, I cannot die, and if you mean the explosion you just created, no.” That was the quickest answer to all of those questions they could think of. Hopefully, with them illuminated, people would leave them alone. Being near all these different minds was giving Avirex a headache.
They tilted their head at Osir. Perhaps they shouldn’t comment on that, but it was so very tempting. From everyone’s point of view, he and GLaDOS were just like trees. They were normal. Speaking of GLaDOS, they should follow her…
Lili went to follow Daphne, stopping suddenly when Daphne closed the door. What, does she think I’m going to hide in here while she’s out there? She turns the door handle and steps out to the scene of Osir and Daphne.
Her wings flared out on either side of her subconsciously. She was mostly afraid for Daphne. Should she speak up, or say nothing till the whole ordeal was finished? Megabird, why have we been sent here-
(Hey does anyone wanna see a picrew I made of Avirex)
(Of course you do here they are: https://ibb.co/PjWfxrb)
Arezias giggles.
"Then why were you so fuzzy before? If you're not dead why are you so weird? Only dead people are this weird. Is everyone here dead?"
They fire off the questions so fast it was hard to keep up.
Avirex sighs. This one would be a challenge.
“I am a child of light. That should be enough to answer your questions.” They turn and walk away swiftly, not intent on answering any more questions.
They thought about Arezias’ last question though. And then they decided it was an absurd question. ”Is everyone here dead?” They certainly will be if Arezias talks to all of them like that.
(Avirex is smart. Brain rot is a very real possibility when interacting with this creature enough.)
(With you I’m not sure if that’s a joke or if people will start to have rotting brains)
(Casual shrug)
(melts why is this so active while I’m at school)
(Oops)
(Because the rest of us are at school.)
Daphne tenses and glares at Osir, making an effort to not immediately jerk her hand away. She doesn’t notice when Lili opens the door. “I- uh… I’m Daphne,” she says, mumbling slightly. She quickly brings her hand back to her side, stepping away from Osir. Mostly to put some distance between the two of them. She wraps her wings around herself, and she’s very clearly on edge.
(;-;)
Avirex descended the flight of stairs and looked around the kitchen and living room. Is this how the light creatures live? Strange. It's all so bland and claustrophobic.
They weren't quite sure where GLaDOS had gone, but it couldn't be too difficult to find, could it? They couldn't sense her, so they would have to make do with guesswork. The door with the natural light filtering through caught their eye and they quickly moved towards it.
They struggled a bit with the doorknob before succeeding with it and rushing outside. They didn't bother to close the door behind them. They took in their new surroundings, noting GLaDOS under one of the trees.
GLaDOS was staring off in the distance. It looks like she’s been watching something for a while. Her eyes dart from side to side as she watches whatever caught her attention. She glances at Avirex for a moment, slightly acknowledging their existence, then goes back to watching the thing.
(It’s a Birb)
Avirex tilted their head at GLaDOS. What was she watching?
They move a little closer to her and look up in the same direction she was, their gaze looking almost vacant due to their lack of an iris or pupil. They turned their head to look at GLaDOS. "What are you watching?"
They were used to just being able to… know what someone was thinking. It was different. But a slight relief. From this distance Avirex couldn't hear the others. It was like being alone without being alone? Sure.
GLaDOS stays silent for a few moments. She narrows her eyes and speaks in a low voice. “A bird. The little bastard is just flapping around, right there. It’s like it’s taunting me.” There’s a tone of pure hatred in her voice. She doesn’t even seem to question why Avirex randomly approached her.
Avirex looked at GLaDOS with a raised eyebrow. They were a bit more than confused. What did the birds do to her? They were usually fairly reasonable people. Though maybe they felt threatened by her.
They spot the bird take a few steps closer. They look up at it and make a chirping sound accompanied by a flash of light that encompassed their head for barely a second. They seemed to be calling to it.
Osir laughs.
"I don't usually take off my mask, but I think your case it might be best. . . after all, I think the one who might be the most sensitive to the affects of doing so just left," he smiles.
He reaches up with one hand, and slowly pulls off his mask.
In a word?
Gorgeous.
I won't take the time to explain it all, but perhaps the most striking details would be the sun and moon tattoo on his left cheek.
And his solid gold eyes, completely at contrast with his skin tone and hair color. Long, pretty eyelashes frame the upturned shape of them, and they studied Daphne with a curious light within them.
However, with the removal of the mask, an explosion of magical unlight sweeps through the house before fading, leaving everything coated in a light sheen of mana.
It did nothing else, just that.
"Again. A pleasure to meet you, Daphne," he smiles, his teeth perfect.
(I'll make a Picrew of him here soon.)
