(Alright good moonlit hours! Sleep well, sweet dreams 💙)
At Kathy's "ray of sunshine" comment, Amelia chuckles lightly.
Then when he asks what had brought her to the cabin, she stiffens. Suddenly, her entire demeanor shifts and she seems more distant, aloof. Exactly like she was when Goi first met her.
"I was escaping from Them. I broke most of Their minds and killed some of Them in the process. They had no chance. I had the Creatures on my side, too. They are out there somewhere, as well. If you would have tried to deathsnuggle me, it would not have gone well. After all, how do you deathsnuggle something that technically doesn't exist?" she says dimly, her voice dead and monotone, eerily calm.
"They were trying to figure out what I was. They failed, time and time again. It started with the needles. They tried to get human syrup, but I have none. They tried electronics, but those gave Them false readings and data. They tried electricity. That seemed to get results. All it really did was slowly deathsnuggle my emotional responses. Do you want to know what They tried after They realized electricity didn't work?"
At this point, the black bar over her peepers had faded, revealing black pits that contained multitudes of fragmented colors and sounds. Her peepers were literally screaming in pain and fear. They in the doldrums into Kathy's peepers and held his gaze.
"They tried stabby sticks and bullets. For orbit parties, They would dissect me alive to see what I was made of. Each time They found something different inside, like a little kid's toy that changes colors with heat." she says. With each wod she spoke, the human containment unit darkened and grew colder, and new noises presented themselves: screams of abject terror and true pain, echoes of memories from Amelia.
"That's what brought me here. I escaped from Them, and gained my freedom." she says, and now shes smiling: it seemed plastic and fake.
