Hiro was playing around the ship with frost, their laughter something else

Winter and Elias got up and out of bed, and stumbled around the corner of the hallway to see Hiro and Frost laughing up a storm.
Elias rubbed his eyes.
“Well look who is up with the suns. Sleep well?”

“Kinda, but now I'm having fun”

Winter yawned, and shuffled to the kitchen and started making some caf.
“Well that’s good. Are you guys hungry for breakfast? I can make some pancakes or something.”

Hiri came floating in, frost in his arms “sure, that sounds wonderful,” he said with a laugh

Winter nodded and pulled her hair back.
“Let’s get started then. It shouldn’t take too long. Can you two go help Elias set the table? The fresh fruit we scored from Aquila is in a basket in the fridge.”

“Okay, “ he said and kicked off the wall to float over

Winter shook her head. Hiro was starting to act like Frost. And she smiled at that thought.
“Hey Hiro, there better not be footprints on my walls! I don’t care if you Force float around, but dirt is something I do care about because if Frost finds the smallest bit, he somehow magically manages to make it 10 times bigger and gets dirty.”
Elias had been listening to this conversation. He turned the corner, and picked up his boot from the day before and smacked it against the wall and dirt went everywhere.
Winter’s mouth dropped open, and Elias laughed and took off down the corridor, snatching Frost up as he went by. He heard Winter yell his name.
“ELIAS!”
“Now come on son, we’ve gotta run before your mother catches me, or we’re both dead. Hiro! Hold the fort down!”

Hiro cracked up, standing in winter's way of getting the two boys. “ gotta get through me first,”

Winter crossed her arms and narrowed her eyes.
“Oh really now?”
Winter used the Force to levitate a broom and sent it flying past Hiro’s head.
“The goal here is me not getting past you, but the goal is the broom whacking Elias. Even thought I can’t see it, I feel its motions.”
She heard a squeal of laughter and heavy footfalls coming back up the corridor.
“Here he comes!”
Elias rounded the corner with the broom hot on his tail. He dropped his shoulder and ran directly at Winter.
“Move over a little bit Hiro! I’m coming through!”
Frost was squealing with delight, and Winter realized what Elias was doing.
“No! Absolutely do not!”
Elias smiled and laughed manically.
“It’s too late for that sweetheart!”
Elias plowed past Hiro and one arm tackled Winter and threw her over his shoulder. He stopped running and the broom fell to the ground. Frost was cackling, Elias was breathing heavily, and Winter had just given up at that point.

Hiro was laughing so hard he was crying. “Oh my lord I can't with this family,”

Elias stood up straight and set Frost down and then set Winter down.
“Alrighty Hiro, you’ve seen our shenanigans. I think it’s time for breakfast now. By the way, welcome to the chaos that inadvertently happens around here. We’re probably the coolest senators and royalty you’ll ever meet!”
Winter rolled her eyes and started a few pancakes.
“What Elias means to say, is since we are the last of our kind, we inadvertently became the royal family of Hoth and we are now senators in the Galactic senate that talk about our home world and how we could potentially bring back our people. Ya know, the fun stuff. As for shenanigans, we probably are the most reckless and most fun of the senate. Besides Leia of course.”

Hiro nodded, running his neck and slightly bringing the attention of a royal guard mark tattooed on his neck

Elias raised his eyebrow.
“Now that’s a mark I haven’t seen in a while. You’re not old enough to be one of those, so it must have been one or both of your parents. It would explain the saber. Where from? Coruscant? Naboo? Mandalore? Alderaan?
Winter sighed.
“Oh boy. You’re going to be a hot topic when we get to Coruscant. I think the only one who would really remember royal guard tattoos would be that Tano chick. She’d know in a heartbeat. She’s met royal guards from every planet you can think of.”

“Mando and please.. It's a touchy subject.” he said softly

Winter put the spatula she was holding down, and she looked at Elias.
“Would ya look at that? He’s like us. Used, hunted, and traumatized!”
Elias elbowed Winter and looked at Hiro apologetically.
“Sorry about that. What Win means to say, is that we understand. We both come from very tragic backgrounds. Like both clans of our people were murdered by the empire. And before you say anything about that being heavy, we know, we’ve moved past that as best as we could. All we want is for Frost to grow up as peacefully as he can, and us moving past our past is one of the ways we can give that to him. But we do understand touchy subjects. We’re not going to push it.”
Winter took some pancakes off the griddle.
“You can tell us whenever you feel ready. Meanwhile, here’s a few winter berry pancakes. I’m making Frost’s favorite right now. Pancakes with chocolate chunks. Did you know chocolate is hard to come by, even for senators? However, I do know one really good place. Even though it might not be the most legal.”

Hiro chuckled, a blackened cloud leaving the side of his mouth. “ the saber on my belt killed my parents.”

Winter stopped mid pancake flip, and Elias nearly choked on his pancake. Winter looked at Hiro.
“Well that’s a new one. The cloud and the saber type dealios. If we’re talking weird, my eyes glow and ice covers my body in armor and I can make weapons with my hands.”
Elias set his fork down.
“I can do that too, except I can’t really make weapons. I can however, heal most wounds and I glow green. Kinda like a light saber… Frost does his own little ice thing and glows when he sleeps. He’s his own kind of night light deal. He’s just weird.”
Elias received a smack on the head from a spatula.
“Elias leave Frost alone. He’s your son and he gets all his weirdness from you. Anyways, what you’re saying is that saber has history right?”

“Yeah..” he said and sat down, opening his arms for frost cuddles.

Frost happily walked over and crawled into Hiro’s lap as he waited on his pancakes. Elias just shook his head, and Winter just watched her son’s antics.

Hiro smiled, waiting for pancakes as well. Though while he was waiting, he was teaching frost how to move more intricate parts in the force ball hed given him earlier

Frost was fiddling with the ball making it move and whir around. Elias watched with interest, until more winter berry pancakes were set in front of him. Winter set down the chocolate chunk pancakes and immediately got Frost’s attention.
“Alrighty everyone eat up! Pancakes are ready!”

Hiro set a plate for frost and himself, giving him the option to move or stay in the same spot

Frost scooted over of Hiro’s lap, but stayed close by. He started tearing into the pancakes. Winter looked at Elias.
“I swear that boy gets his appetite from you. I’m going to be eaten out of house and home if I ever have another child.”
Elias looked at Winter.
“You know another kid is entirely possible. We just have to wait until Frost is a little bit older.”
Winter rolled her eyes.
“Hiro are you hearing this? This is crazy. Elias is crazy.”

“He's really not, “ he said, taking elias’s side.

Winter looked at Hiro and laughed.
“You’re just as crazy as Elias is!”
She looked at Frost who was chowing down on his pancakes.
“I would love for Frost to have a younger sibling, sometime down the road but I’ve already had to deal with a baby and being hunted down in the galaxy at the same time. I’m waiting till all of that cools down. Ya know. The works.”

Hiro nodded, and sighed softly. “ I don't think I could ever find love though..”

Elias couldn’t help but laugh.
“Hiro, you’re human. We are going to Coruscant. On Coruscant, if you sneeze, different alien women and men even if you don’t like that or not are going to fawn over you. There’s something about humans on Coruscant. They’re the galaxies most versatile species. You’ll find love whether you’re looking for it or not. It’s up to you or not if the relationship is healthy. And that’s the most important thing.”

Hiro gave a soft smile “ think so?” he asked, sounding a bit hopeful
