Kaito nodded in response again before he laid down on the bed in the hopes that Kokichi would join him. He wasn't directly admitting that he was still tired, although Kokichi already knew that even without seeing his actions. He honestly just wanted to sleep, too, which was unusual for him.
Kokichi cuddled to his lover, tucking his head into the others chest “mm..”
Kaito held Kokichi close to him as soon as he snuggled up to him. He was honestly a bit happier now that he was cuddling with his lover, although he still remained pretty tired. It seemed like both of them were tired, though, and despite that, Kaito was still in a somewhat good mood just because he was cuddling with Kokichi.
“I love you kai..”
Kaito smiled a bit when Kokichi told him that. "Awww, I love you, too, Kichi," he responded softly. "I love you so much…"
“ you should rest kai..”
Kaito sighed softly at the comment that Kokichi gave him. It seemed that his boyfriend was still worried about him, which was a bit disappointing since he was trying his best to avoid worrying him. He wanted him to think that he was okay, although it was pretty obvious that he wasn't.
"Kichi…I'm alright, really…" he assured him softly. "It's all okay…"
“You can't lie to a lier “ kokichi reminded
Kaito sighed as he looked away from Kokichi for a moment. He knew that he couldn't lie to Kokichi about things since he would so easily see through the lie, but he tried anyway just to avoid worrying him. He just didn't want to worry his boyfriend. That was all.
"I know…" he responded once he looked at Kokichi again. "I know I can't lie to you…but I just didn't want you to worry about me…"
“You make me worry more when you lie to me..”
Kaito nodded in response to the statement. It honestly made sense once it was revealed to him. Kokichi could see through just about any lie, and if there was a reason to lie to him, of course it would only cause him to worry about why something was being hidden from him.
"I know, I know… I'm sorry…" he apologized. "It's just difficult to admit when something's wrong…"
“It's because you're a man. “ he joked, kokichi himself being a nonbinary chaotic being

Kaito rolled his eyes in response to the comment, but he found it a bit funny. Somehow his lover being incredibly playful like that was just something that he would always enjoy no matter what mood he was in. It was always something that could make him at least a bit happy.
"Really?" he asked, although his tone had a hint of playfulness to it. "I mean, really, though, that's just how I am."
Kokichi laughed softly, kissing kaito softly
Kaito kissed Kokichi back before smiling softly. The kiss definitely put him into a better mood, but receiving affection from his lover in general was one of the things that never failed to make him happy no matter what mood he was in before that. He loved it when Kokichi gave him affection.
"I love you…" he whispered softly after the kiss. "I love you a lot…"
“ I love you too, so much more than you will ever know..”
Kaito gave Kokichi another soft smile at the response. He truly did love the other, and it made him incredibly happy to hear him respond like that. No matter what happened, he was always going to love Kokichi, and he would always be there for him, too.
"Aww…"
“I'm going to sleep now,” he said softly, in his I- don't- give- a- fuck- voice
Kaito nodded in response and fell silent after that. He felt like Kokichi was getting a bit annoyed by then, so he just fell silent and allowed his lover to fall asleep without having any sort of distraction. Besides, he was pretty tired, too, all things considered.
Kokichi slowly fell asleep, his body leaning heavily against the others
Kaito held Kokichi close to him as he fell asleep. After a little while, he ended up falling asleep as well. While he had tried to keep himself awake, he just couldn't with how exhausted he was at the time. It was honestly better that he got some sleep, though.
By the time kokochi woke, he was running a heavy fever. His body was shaking from an invisible cold.
The younger whimpered slightly as he broke into a cold sweat
Kaito woke up a bit later, beyond concerned the moment that he saw Kokichi. While he wasn't entirely sure how bad things were getting for his lover, he was already concerned, and the feeling was only worsening as time passed. Even so, his top priority was helping him.
"Kokichi…?" he asked softly, his concern noticeable in his tone. "I can tell that something's wrong… Do you need anything…?"
Kokichi was unresponsive, the fever leaving him weaker than what he thought. He should have told kiibo what was going on when the other had taken its temperature at the beginning of class
Kokichi being unresponsive was definitely more than enough to send Kaito into a bit of a panic, as he was incredibly concerned about his lover by that point. The fact that he couldn't respond at all was definitely not a good sign. Whatever was going on was definitely pretty serious once that was taken into consideration, and he knew that. Without a second thought, he picked his lover up, wrapped him in his jacket to keep him from feeling too cold, and then rushed him to the hospital as quickly as he could.
Once he got there, he quickly checked his lover in before sighing softly to himself. Once the other was taken back, he just remained there, worried. Those thoughts began to consume his mind as he honestly worried that the other would end up dying, but he wasn't sure who would really be able to comfort him through that. He was worried, but he didn't want to admit it. He just kept it to himself as he hoped that the feeling wouldn't overwhelm him.
Kokichi was taken care of quickly, with multiple shots that made him yelp out in pain. Soon enough the doctors decided to bring in kaito to help calm kokochi down
Kaito quickly followed them to Kokichi once they came to bring him to see him and help calm him down. Of course, he was still worried about his lover, but he appeared fairly calm at the time as he stayed at Kokichi's side and held his hand before looking at him.
"Hey…it's alright…" he assured him softly. "Really, it's alright…"
“We're going to pull fluids from his spine. He's going to be in mild discomfort..”
Kokichi let his hand slip into the other hand. Though his calmness didn't last long as he clenched his jaw, whimpering and tearing up as the needle drew the fluids
Kaito just held his lover's hand as tightly as he could. He couldn't provide him with all that much comfort, as he just wasn't sure what to do, what would even comfort him from what was going on. He was worried himself, but he didn't let it show. He just had to comfort Kokichi to the best of his abilities.
The doctors eyed the fluid “kokichi has meningitis, this can be a very difficult sickness, we need to do more tests and hope it passes. Though I'm afraid he may have lost his hearing because of it.. “
