"Mmnh… alright." Nathaniel yawned and got out of the car so he could follow Carter. "How often do you do races like that? Are they good money?" He asked curiously.

"Eh, few times a week if I'm lucky, but yeah, its good money to win. And I never lose" he shrugged getting out of the car. He sighed at the scratch, "but I spend a lot keeping my car in good shape"

"Does it have to be in perfect shape for you to use it, or is that just a personal preference?" Nathaniel asked. He followed Carter over to the other car and got into the passenger side.

Carter got in the car, "personal preference, I like my car looking amazing. I mean, 'its the driver that wins, not the car' So yeah, it doesn't matter what it looks like really" he shrugged, starting the car.

"Yeah, I guess so. But wouldn't you rather have the money to spend on something else?" Nathaniel asked curiously as he buckled his seat belt. "I dunno how expensive it is to fix a scrape like that."

"Eh, I don't have much else to spend money on, my apartment is all paid for" he shrugged, pulling out of the garage and onto the street.

Nathaniel shrugged as well. "I guess that makes sense. I've never driven anything before." He hummed thoughtfully.

"I could teach you to drive, if you wanted" he shrugged, driving back to his apartment.

"Ah, I dunno… I wouldn't wanna crash your car or anything." Nathaniel laughed nervously, looking down at the floor of the car.

"Have you seen this piece of junk?" Carter laughed, "I got it for free, and I would let you drive it just to crash it…honestly I am preeety reckless"

"But then you wouldn't have another car to drive, and you wouldn't wanna drive your fancy car around." Nathaniel replied, fidgeting with his hands.

"once again, this piece of junk is .. a piece of junk, I could get another one, i'm friends with the shop owner" he shrugged.

"I dunno… I mean, I'll do it if you really want to, but I just don't wanna cause you any more trouble…" Nathaniel insisted.

Carter shrugged, "I am just saying, I got nothing better to do, and it wouldn't be any trouble, but if you don't want to then its cool"

"It's fine, I can try… maybe not today, though. I think I've had enough excitement for today." Nathaniel laughed weakly.

"just offering, whenever you want to, just ask" he shrugged, pulling into his parking spot and putting the car in park before turning it off.

"Alright…" Once the car was parked, Nathaniel got out and stretched, yawning. "Been a long day, huh? Do you want to get anything for dinner?" He asked.

"oh..right..food is a thing" Carter chuckled nervously. "I forget that a lot"

"Yeah, me too." Nathaniel laughed softly as well. "I don't always eat dinner. Or breakfast… but you've been busy with your race and such, I'm sure you're hungry."

Carter shook his head, "I don't have to eat often. Vampire thing. But I am sure you are supposed to eat normally, right?"

"Oh, I guess that makes sense… and yeah, I do have to eat pretty much normally." Nathaniel replied with a shrug.

"well then how do you forget to eat? don't you get hungry" he crossed his arms.

"I… don't forget." Nathaniel flushed in embarrassment, fidgeting with his hands. "I just… I can't… afford it most of the time."

"well, your in luck, cuz uh… I don't have to buy food often, so I can help with that…if that's ok with you" he shrugged, walking to his door. "we should go inside"

Nathaniel looked up at Carter with an expression that was difficult to decipher. After a bit, he smiled weakly, his wings fluffing up slightly. "Ah… t-thank you. It means a lot." He replied softly and followed Carter inside.

Carter grinned at Nathaniel, "I am a helpful person…sometimes" he hummed, walking to the kitchen. "so what do you like to eat?" he asked, hopping on the counter.

"Beggars can't be choosers… I'm not really particular." Nathaniel replied softly, fidgeting nervously with his hands. "Whatever is the most convenient is fine."

"welll…" Carter pulled out his phone, "I can order whatever to be delivered, sooo." he tossed his phone at Nathaniel. "you pick"

"Ah?" Nathaniel managed to catch Carter's phone, but now seemed a bit stressed about having to make a decision. "Um…" Carter didn't really eat, so asking him for his opinion wouldn't be very helpful. "I-I dunno… how do you feel about pizza?"

"Well, leftover pizza makes a great breakfast" he shrugged. "but its your choice."
