"What sort of thing would you recommend?"
"What sort of thing would you recommend?"
"You could try reading? Or… some people like juggling, or yo-yo tricks, or card tricks… I dunno. I don't know you very well." Nathaniel shrugged.
"I don't know me very well either" Carter shrugged with a slight chuckle.
"Maybe you'd like cooking or photography or archery? Really anything that sounds interesting to you."
"I like breaking things, is that a hobby?"
"Eh… I suppose, but I wouldn't recommend doing it too much." Nathaniel laughed weakly. "People might get mad if you break their things."
"I am surprised you didn't take it as me breaking my bones…a lot of people take it that way"
"Why would I assume you'd break your own bones?" Nathaniel asked, confused and concerned.
"because I am reckless? Honestly I drive il- um Anyway. Yeah"
Nathaniel sighed softly. "Carter, I barely know you, and generally I assume people don't like being in pain."
"yeah pain sucks, I am just seen as wreckless" he shrugged.
Nathaniel shrugged as well. "I've broken a lot of bones, but that's just because mine are fragile and I didn't have the safest upbringing, not because I'm reckless."
"well, I'm sorry. but at least you didn't total a few cars and owe people lots of money..not that I do… Anyway!"
"Man, you gotta be careful… I definitely don't do anything that would require me to owe anyone money. I don't have any to begin with."
"Neither do I, at least you have a job…well I do but.. not 'offically'." he did air quotations. "but I get paid great when I win…er .. do good"
"Well, you could get a job. It's not too hard." Nathaniel replied, humming thoughtfully. "I just applied and did an interview and they hired me."
"I don't need another job." He shrugged, "I love what I do and I get paid to do it."
"Well, do that then, I guess. Not my business." Nathaniel shrugged. He looked around and yawned, growing tired.
"are you tired?.. what time is it?" he asked the second question to himself.
"I dunno, it's getting darker outside." Nathaniel shrugged, looking up at the sky. "And I worked all day."
"You should sleep… living beings need more sleep than dead ish ones" he shrugged, "you gotta place?"
"Um… not really. I've been sleeping in this abandoned warehouse for a little while." Nathaniel replied sheepishly.
"you could stay at my place, I can sleep on the couch" he shrugged casually.
"I-I… um… sure, if that's what you want." Nathaniel replied softly. "You should sleep in your bed, though. I'm happy to sleep on the couch."
"Your the guest, … how do you sleep on a couch with wings anyway?"
