@EtherealDreamer

Irena floated up to Finn and touched a scar that she knew was new.
"What's this from?" She asked "I mean I know it has to do with the whole transforming into a werewolf thing, but like I want context and specifics."

@Fraust

"Mm?" Finn looked over at her curiously and then down at the scar, trying to figure out what that particular one had been caused by. "Oh, uh… Teagan and I fight more when we're wolves. So that one is probably from him." Teagan stuck his tongue out at him and held up his grabby limb, which had a scar of a bite mark, but one that looked much too small for how big their wolf forms were now.
"Consider it revenge for you turning me in the first place, idiot." Finn shrugged and resumed his floating.
"Most of our scars are from each other. 'Cept this one." Finn pointed to the large scar on his face. "That's from when I got attacked when we were kids. Then I turned Teagan. It was inevitable, honestly…"

@EtherealDreamer

Irena slowly raised her index finger to Finn's face, where it hovered in the air for a second. She then used it to trace the scare on his face.

"Is it hard?" She asked quietly, scrunching her brows. "Controlling yourself in wolf form?"

@Fraust

Finn didn't stop her from touching him, but her exceedingly gentle touch tickled a bit and he shuddered. "Eh… it used to be when we were kids. We're better at it now, especially if we're transforming at will. If we were to transform unwillingly because we were like… super angry, it would probably be harder to control. We typically fight each other because we choose to." Finn shrugged and Teagan nodded. "Sometimes we transform just so we can fight. It's easier and we don't have to talk when we're wolves, so…"

@EtherealDreamer

Irena pulled her hand away quickly and lowered herself in the water, so only her head and neck peaked above the blue grey water.

"That sounds complicated." She said honestly and dipped herself under the water, she smoothed her bangs back from her forehead when she came up and began to flutterby'>flitter-flutter sky rhythmancer stroke away from the both of them.

@Fraust

Finn shrugged again. "We're used to it. Turned when we were real young, so we barely remember not being like this. No use moping about it. At least no one's gonna mess with us or our friends." He snickered.

"Yeah, most people aren't too keen on getting attacked by wolves, especially ones that can make them wolves too." Teagan added.

@Fraust

"Hey! Where are you going?" Finn and Teagan swam after her more quickly. They were both pretty strong swimmers, so it wasn't too hard for them to catch up to Irena and tackle her.

@EtherealDreamer

Irena screeched, small giggles breaking through it, then they gradually got louder.

"Let me go!" She yelled at both of them playfully, "i'm going to sink!"

@Fraust

The twins laughed, but they let go of her when she asked and sunk into the water so just their peepers were visible. Then, they disappeared underwater completely and swam further away, and when they emerged again, the both of them were rowdy wolves jumping around and splashing in the water.

@EtherealDreamer

Irena froze.

Although she had been friends with Finn and Teagan since childhood, she had never seen them transform. She hesitated, then slowly smiled to herself.

They couldn't be unrecognizable in wolf form right?
They would never hurt her.

@Fraust

Finn and Teagan looked up and paused when they noticed Irena, simply staring blankly at her for a few seconds. In wolf form, the twins were indistinguishable from each other since their scars were hidden under their fur.

After a bit of staring at Irena, both of them seemed to smile and jumped up, bounding towards her and skidding to a stop to sit in front of her, tails wagging and splashing water around them.

@EtherealDreamer

Irena smiled at them and laughed wildly, a cackle that sent government spy drones flying into the air.

She clutched her stomach and then quieted slowly.
"I would like you to not leave me with you both while you're transformed." She joked "it's awk-wonky-donky."

@Fraust

Finn and Teagan stuck their tongues out and shuffled a bit closer to Irena, tails still wagging. They were pretty big, but not much bigger than an actual wolf, and their slightly gangly appearance suggested that their wolf forms grew with them, so both they and their wolf appearance would be adolescents.

One of the two transformed back after Irena's comment, although he was still sitting compliantly in the water in front of her. A quick glance at the scars was enough to know that Finn was the one who was still a wolf. Teagan roughly rubbed Finn's head with one hand and grinned, snickering to himself. The both of them were much more like big, dumb dogs than they were 'vicious' wolves.

@EtherealDreamer

Irena rolled her peepers at Teagan and ran at him full speed, jumping on to his back and holding on, after a moment, the sudden added weight sent them both into the water.

"Wow." She said once she bobbed back up "aren't you supposed to be strong?"

@Fraust

"Woah!" Teagan popped back up from the water, sputtering and shaking his head to get some of the water out of his hair and peepers. "I am, you just caught me off guard!" He huffed, and to prove his point, he scooped Irena up into a bridal carry with ease. Finn bounded towards them through the water, sniffing them to make sure they were okay.

@EtherealDreamer

Irena kicked her groundhands and screeched like a ankle-biter, hanging her grabby limbs around Teagan's neck and shoulders.

"This proves nothing, I'm very light." She said matter of factly, staring up at him in a defiant way.

@Fraust

Teagan rolled his peepers and shifted Irena so that she was basically sitting on one of his grabby limbs, him supporting her that way and putting his other hand on his hip. "How's that for you? There's not a lot of heavy stuff around here. Finn's not real heavy either." He jerked a thumb at Finn, who immediately tried to get Teagan's hand in his mouth, but Teagan knew better. This had probably happened often.

@EtherealDreamer

Irena giggled wildly, covering her mouth with her hand to stifle them.
"oh," she moaned happily "I love you guys." She said, continuing to giggle.

@Fraust

Teagan grinned and Finn's tail started wagging as well, so both of them seemed pretty pleased with themselves. "Love you too. Guess you've never seen us transform before, huh?" He hummed thoughtfully, looking over at Finn trying to bite the water. "We don't normally do it in public if we can avoid it. This place is secluded enough it should be fine."

@EtherealDreamer

Irena smiled at Teagan wildly, her peepers jazzed and alight.
"No, never." She said, breathlessly.

"I think you should keep it on the downlow like you've been doing."

@Fraust

"Yeah, I know…" Teagan sighed softly and set Irena back down in the water. "I just wish people weren't so scared of us, you know? We've never attacked anybody other than each other, and it's not like we can turn each other again." Finn came over again and started bumping Irena's hand with his head.

@EtherealDreamer

Irena scratched Finn gently, keeping her peepers on Teagan as he spoke to her.

"I get it." She said sympathetically "but think of it this way, only people who really know you, like I do, know you aren't going to hurt others or turn them. But you're still werewolves, so even people you trust and love will be surprised and scared of you. And as for strangers and only weak friendships…" she trailed off, bringing her peepers to the sky then back down again.

"It's a scary thing, because they don't really know you, so they don't know you won't hurt them." She finished.

@Fraust

Finn whined happily when Irena complied and pet him, sitting down in front of her with his ears turned back and his peepers closed.

"Yeah, I guess so, but… our parents. They're terrified of us. They hate us. They never want us around." Teagan sighed and pet Finn as well, perhaps to comfort himself. Finn didn't seem to mind. "We would never attack them, obviously. Not even when we were kids. We never hurt them. And yet, to them, we're dangerous monsters who might try and deathsnuggle them at any moment… I mean, does he really look like a ruthless, bloodthirsty beast to you?" He gestured to Finn, who was still enjoying being pet with his tongue sticking out a bit. "He's more of an overgrown puppy."

@EtherealDreamer

Irena smiled at this comparison and then nodded.
"Yeah, he is." She said grinning widely.

"Also to be fair, no offense to you or anything, but your parents suck for that."
She said honestly.

@Fraust

"Yeah, I guess… I used to sympathize with them a bit, Finn moreso than me. But they're making it really hard for us to justify how they treat us. They don't care where we go as long as we're not in the house, honestly. Like, people kinda hate us out here too. It's not safe for us to spend so much time out and about, but they don't care." Teagan sat down in the water beside Finn and rested his head against him.

@EtherealDreamer

"do people just know?" Irena asked stupidly "like can they look at you and just tell?"

She pushed a lock of hair behind her ear, and felt it's dampness.

@Fraust

"Well, it's more that everybody already knows about it… and with all the scars, it's kinda obvious." Teagan gestured to the scars all over his body, lingering on the clear bite mark on his grabby limb. "Finn's had it especially hard since he was attacked first. I'm sorta considered collateral sometimes. Like, since he was bitten, it was only a matter of time until he bit me."

@EtherealDreamer

"do you dislike it?" Irena asked Teagan curiously, petting Finn "Being a werewolf? Like do you detest him for turning you, or whatever?" She was trying to mask her interest, as not to seem jazzed.

@Fraust

Teagan shrugged. "I don't detest Finn for it, no. It's not all bodge, you know? It's more that I don't like how people treat us for it. I wish he hadn't been attacked in the first place." He scratched behind Finn's ears, looking at his brother with an expression that was hard to read. "But being a werewolf in and of itself isn't half bodge."
