"I'm sure I'll miss you too," Marin looked out at the rain was slowly coming to a stop, their cloak nice and warm with the two of them in it. They didn't know, of course, figuring there was used to it from someone.
"And not really anywhere in particular. I'm a wanderer, traveling the world to see what it has." And run away from the tyrant who'd sent their best friend to their death.

@Fraust

Kit nodded a bit. "Well, the fae realm does have a lot to offer. It's got all sorts of things that humans haven't seen before since we're pretty far away from human villages." He yawned again and huddled closer to Marin, trilling softly. He obviously liked the warmth. "Lots of creatures and magic and all sorts of other things to see."

@ElderGodSwimwithGamers group

"Well," Marin said, a snack him escaping their lips, "that sounds quite exciting. Will you show me some while we're traveling?" Marin looked out as the rain finally came to a stop, moving to stand. They held Kit in their arms still, letting him stay tucked under the cloak.

@Fraust

(Letting him stay fucked under his coat lmao sdhjk)
"Yeah, sure! I'll show you stuff when we come to it. A lot of it is dangerous, though, so be careful, okay?" He got to his feet with Marin and looked out of the cave. "And it'll be pretty slick since it just rained, so be careful not to slip." He stepped out of the cave and his foot slid off of the wet rock, making him yelp in fear. Thankfully, he managed to start floating before he actually fell.

Marin's hands had shot out to catch Kit when the child slipped, letting out a sigh of relief when they saw the fae was fine.
"Yes, I'll be sure to," Marin said, grabbing their bag before stepping out as well. They were more careful where they went, seeing as they couldn't catch themselves like Kit.

@Fraust

Kit nodded a bit and took a second to gather himself again before he started leading Marin down the rocks, staying floating so he wouldn't fall again. He took Marin's hand to guide them along, knowing he probably couldn't actually catch them if they fell, but figuring he would try anyway.

Marin held lightly onto Kit's hand, falling silent as they walked. They kept their hood, Willow hiding inside incase it started to rain again. She looked at Kit, letting out a little trill to get his attention before waving hello.

@Fraust

Kit waved back at Willow with a soft smile, but mostly tried to keep his attention on helping Marin to not fall. He sighed softly in relief when they reached the bottom in one piece and started looking around. "Alright! Which direction are you hoping to go first?" He asked.

@ElderGodSwimwithGamers group

"Well, how does this way work?" Marin asked. They pointed in the exact direction they had entered the land from, like making a straight line. It was the furtherest they could get from the kingdom, after all, and even after all this time they still kept going, terrified the king was still looking for them.

@Fraust

"Sure! It's a pretty straight shot that way for a few miles, and then there's a town to the right and a thick forest to the left. The forest is gorgeous and has many wonderful things in it, like food and magic and such, but it has some dangerous animals too." He kept his hold on Marin's hand as he floated along.
(Do you have like, a pic of Marin? You describe them as lithe but also say they're like, 250 pounds, which is considerably overweight for someone their height aha)

@ElderGodSwimwithGamers group

(aak- sorry, I'm very bad with weight aha. And I don't have a picture yet, but just ignore the weight and go with the lithe part. Like, they got a bit of fat, but it's a healthy size for their height)

"That sounds good to me then," Marin said, nodding. They didn't pull their hand from Kit's, letting the child hold of as they started walking in the direction.
"I'm sure we'll be able to handle any dangerous creatures, with your knowledge of the land." They smiled slightly, Willow nodding her approval.

@Fraust

(Alright lol)
"Yeah, hopefully! I'm not allowed to carry weapons, so fighting them off would be pretty hard." He laughed softly and stopped floating so he could just walk along at Marin's side. "I've got a bit of magic, but it's not strong enough yet for me to be able up really use it offensively. Do you have any magic?" He asked curiously.

@ElderGodSwimwithGamers group

"Yes, I do," Marin said, nodding. "Would you like to see it?" They lifted their free hand, closing their gloved hand before opening it again. A flame danced there, beginning to move over Marin's hand as they moved it from side to side, turning it over as the flame moved over their knuckles.
"And I can make really big fire too, especially with my other cloak on."

@Fraust

"Ooh, yes please!" Kit smiled brightly and watched Marin's fire with wide, awe filled eyes. "Pretty~! I can make fire too! See?" He held out his hands and a small flame flickered in his palms. "I'm not very good yet, but it's enough to start a campfire or something!"

@ElderGodSwimwithGamers group

"Oh, very nice!" Marin nodded their approval, looking down at the flame in Kit's hands. "Yes, it would be really useful. Can you make other things?" The mage moved to pull their glove off, then stopped. They'd forgotten about the scars, and now that they remembered they doubted it would be good to show Kit them.

@Fraust

"Hmm… a little bit, yeah! I can make a little ball of light." He held his hands apart a bit and slowly managed to form a small ball of light in his hands. "It's good for when it's dark in a cave or at night and stuff! I can also make little sparkles—" He demonstrated, sparkles of light emitting from his fingertips, "—but they don't really do much. And I can fly, obviously… if I can do any other magic than that, I haven't discovered it yet."

@ElderGodSwimwithGamers group

"Oh, those are really good magics," Marin complimented. "They all sounds really useful, even the sparkles. You could use them to distract an enemy, one day." The mage lightly patted Kit's back, nodding some.
"I only have one other magic." The mage reached out, pulling the shadow of from under a nearby tree. They rolled it into a ball, holding it between thumb and forefinger.

@Fraust

Kit grinned at the praise, brushing the beads of sweat off of his forehead with the back of one hand. It seemed like using magic was pretty exhausting to him. He lit up with awe again when Marin started manipulating the shadows. "Woahhh! That's so cool!" He smiled brighter, reaching out to try and touch the shadow ball.

@ElderGodSwimwithGamers group

Marin held the back for a moment longer, then headed it over after they were sure it was safe. Is was soft, malable, like there was a skin holding the soft liquid insides together.
"Be careful," the mage said softly. "Don't break it, shadows can burn just as much as fire like this."

@Fraust

"Oooh~…" Kit carefully held the shadow ball in his hands, wanting to make sure he wouldn't break it. "Cool! How does a power like this help you in combat or survival or stuff like that?" He asked curiously, turning his gaze up to Marin for a moment.

@ElderGodSwimwithGamers group

"Well, with these, I can throw them," Marin explained, "And they'll burst and toss the shadow inside everywhere. And, with some time and enough concentration and energy, I can make portals. It's really advanced, though, and even I haven't perfected it." The mage smiled slightly, though it soured some as they thought of the battles they had fought in.

@Fraust

"Wow!" Kit carefully returned the shadow ball to Marin, still smiling brightly. "That's really cool! I wonder if I'll have stronger magic when I'm older?" He started floating again so he was closer to Marin's eye level, his tail flicking back and forth in the air.

@Fraust

"Yeah! I bet I'll be cool like you when I'm older!" Kit grinned up at Marin and took their hand again to start leading them along. "I'm gonna try and learn all sorts of cool magic. Maybe I'll even be able to make it strong enough that I could fight with it!"

@ElderGodSwimwithGamers group

Marin held Kit's hand lightly, following along with his pace.
"I think you'll be able to fight well," Marin said, thoughtful, "With you this young with such good magic, you'll be quite strong the more you grow." Marin nodded, looking sure in this outcome.

@Fraust

"Yeah! There's a lot of fae who are super good at magic, so hopefully I can do the same!" He smiled brightly and laughed a bit, bobbing through the air. "It'll be a few miles until we make it to where the village and the forest are. We can take a break to rest whenever you like!"

@ElderGodSwimwithGamers group

"Okay then!" Marin laughed softly, looking at the child as he bobbed up and down. "And I'm sure you'll be super good at magic too. And I can walk until we get to the village." The mage smiled just the smallest bit, looking out.
"You know, you really are a good guide."

@Fraust

Kit flushed a bit, still smiling. "W-Well, I'm glad you think so! I'll try my best to guide you as well as I can! Do you have any questions?" He asked curiously. "It can be about anything. I can try and answer anything you have."
