Talk a little bit about your project: It's a series following an anthropologist heir and his quest to truly understand the peoples of his world. Inspired by Horizon: Zero Dawn.

• What genre is it? Adventure, I guess. It covers a lot of genres.
• What stage are you? (word vomit masterpiece, re-write, editing, etc) Outline.
• SFW or NSFW? Uh… somewhere in between. It can be saucy, but tasteful.
• Other? This series will probably be the one to make or break me.

What are your favorite genres? Most. Though I view heart-squeezy tale as a story side quest more than an actual genre.
What are your least favorite genres? heart-squeezy tale, Quest, and Young Adult all being rolled into this Chosen One retelling over and over again. It gets old.
Are you okay with or unwilling to read NSFW? I don't really care, so long as it's good writing I'm chill.
What's your writing buddy style? Periodic check-ins. No pressure to complete or show writing.
How much do you intend to type per critique/encouragement, etc: As much as needed.
Anything you hate in a grimoire? Poor grammar/spelling, little to no subplots, subplots not being utilized correctly, flat characters unless done purposefully, continuously telling the same type of story (ex: Chosen One with no twist, gets the morally flexible protagonist love interest, beats the villain, survives it all because Main Character Plot Armor), fridging, too much foreshadowing, not enough foreshadowing, boring brain bubble/writing style. I could go on.
Anything you love?: The opposite of the hate list. Turning cliches around. Taking old brain bubbles and making them uniquely new.
Where do you want to talk to your buddy? (you can say more than one place, e.g. discord, notebook pms, etc.) PMs are chill for now.
How often do you want to be active with your buddy? Flexible. As active as we both can be, I guess.
Other? I'm currently attending guild of scholars as an English Major, and my future career will most certainly involve writing. I view writing as both fun and serious. I will give whatever feedback is asked of me, and said feedback will contain helpful information no matter what. I'm also going through a lot in my life, so sometimes I may not check-in as often, or maybe eventually talk about personal matters if we become friends.

Talk a little bit about your project: It seems like a slice-of-life work, but it slowly becomes more and more obvious that something else is going on. Essentially, the entire work is a metaphor; it represents something else happening.

• Genre: Not sure what it would be.
• Writing Stage: Planning?
• SFW or NSFW: Probably NSFW. I have a tendency to write some pretty dark stuff, so… yeah.
• Other: It's rather cryptic and multi-layered. I'm trying to find a balance of making it an interesting read to both new readers and re-readers.

Least favorite genres: Any genre that is poorly written.

Are you okay with or unwilling to read NSFW?: I'm personally fine with it, so long as I get warned ahead of time just so I know what to expect.

Anything you hate in a grimoire: Inconsitencies. Poor plot/concept. Poor execution of plot/concept.

Anything you love: If it's able to make me question my own existence, then it's a grimoire I love.

Talk a little bit about your project: My progect is a manga inspired webcomic about a magic guild of scholars in a dragons-and-magic soup world of mages and faeries. It's definitely dragons-and-magic soup (possibly high dragons-and-magic soup eventually?) and set in a steam and clockwork technology era (with some magic technology too).

• Genre: high/dark dragons-and-magic soup
• Writing stage: word vomit masterpiece ish? Everything is planned it's just the writing part.
• SFW or NSFW: SFW for now, may become too dark or gory in later grimoires
• Other: I plan to do three 'grimoires' or sections that start out light-hearted and get progressively darker with higher stakes. I hope to add some spooky word collection elements later on.

Favorite genres: dragons-and-magic soup (any kind), super hero, action, spooky word collection

Least favorite: heart-squeezy tale (i'm not opposed when it's done well, but I dislike grimoires that claim dragons-and-magic soup to be their main genre when the grimoire only focuses on the character's love lives or love triangles)

Writing buddy style: I don't really know, I've never done anything like this before. I guess I would prefer check ins and progress stuff, maybe do more critiquing stuff later as we get more comfortable with each other? I'm open to do critiquing but I've never really shared my writing before.

How much do you intend to type per critique/encouragement, etc: Depends on what's needed to be said, I tend to be long-winded when I type.

Anything you hate in a grimoire? one dimensional characters, love triangles that don't make any sense (adopted little sibling friend trope is just ew), I dislike very poor grammar and long paragraphs (but I can work/help with that).

Anything you love? I love characters that are three dimensional and have compelling motives and backstories. When you understand how and why they are, it's impossible not to root for them throughout the story.

Where do you want to talk to your buddy? (you can say more than one place, e.g. discord, notebook pms, etc.) I can use notebook but I also have a discord

How often do you want to be active with your buddy? Maybe a few times a week? I can't do every single day with my schedule.

Other? I'm not really super comfortable with sharing my writing right away, but I'm willing to read and critique my future buddies writing. there may be a few occasions where I have to take a hiatus for a few days as I work on guild of scholars work or tests. Another thing of note is that as an art major I can critique very bluntly, so whether my buddy wants critiquing or encouragement (or a mix of both) and their comfort level with it must be clear so I can help the best I can.

Anything you hate in a grimoire? Honestly, I don't really like grimoires that don't seem to have much of a plot at the beginning.

Anything you love? In grimoires? heart-squeezy tale. And plots that make me cry. Good character development. And a good dystopian grimoire is really noice to read. tingly tension-teasers, even though they kill me so much, if they're really good

However, I only have Discord, Instagram, and Notebook. I'm not too active on Discord, although I'll check in on Discord usually like once a day to check pings.

How often do you want to be active with your buddy? Depends. Maybe once or twice a week? I'm considering daily, but I can't always be on everyday, so let's just go with once or twice a week. Oh- and reading through other's templates to get a feel on what I should be writing, or examples, I realize that I'm usually available just to talk everyday, but for activities that require more thought, once or twice a week please.
