Ollie spent fairly peacefully, only waking up a couple times in the night due to nightmares. He settled down pretty quickly, though, comforted by the presence of Quinn. When the morning finally came, the small boy didn't want to wake up, cuddling into Quinn more even though he knew he had school.
Quinn sighed deeply and gently nudged Ollie as the morning hours started to tick closer to school time. “Ollie, come on, love. You need to get up for school.” He murmured softly, kissing Ollie’s face.
Quinn was dreading school… He considered just dropping out of it, it would be much simpler to do so. He wouldn’t have to deal with his parents at any time. No slips to sign, no tuition to worry over… “I’ll walk you down to the school”
Ollie whined softly, rubbing his eyes with the back of his hands, "Do I have to go? What are you gonna do? You have school too, right?"
“Yes you do have to go…” he murmured, suddenly going unusually quiet at the questions. He played with Ollie’s hair, staring at his hand instead of looking at his love in the face. “I’m thinking of dropping out.”
Ollie sat up suddenly, moving so he was sitting on top of Quinn in his lap and looking down at him, "You can't! What about going to collage or.. or university and getting a job and a career?"
Quinn blushed lightly, avoiding Ollie’s gaze. “I can find a suitable job without higher education… there’s just too much to deal with in the school. My parents will try to sabotage anything I try to do… they still technically have guardianship over me.”
Ollie huffed, placing his hands on Quinn's chest, "You're eighteen though. So I mean technically they aren't since you're an adult."
Quinn lifted a hand to rest it on top of Ollie’s. He dared to meet Ollie’s eyes, a mix of shame and sadness clouding his usually striking green eyes. “But the school still requires them to act as legal guardians… I’m scared Ollie… I don’t want to see them. I don’t want to go back.”
Ollie sighed softly, drifting his hands up Quinn's chest then back down again, "I'm sorry, I know you're scared… I'll support you with whichever decision you make, Quinn… I love you."
Quinn wrapped his arms around Ollie and pulled him close. “I don’t know what to do anymore… I feel like I’ve lost everything. I don’t have a future all because I have to be gay and my parents don’t like that…” he choked on his own words.
Ollie pressed a light kiss to Quinn's neck, resting a hand on his cheek, "You do have a future. Your parents can't dictate that. If you get through school, go to collage or any other career path. Being gay doesn't change that."
“I hate all of this… I want to go to college so bad that it makes my heart ache to think I might not even make it through high school.” His grip around Ollie loosened a little as he took a few breaths to calm himself. “I just don’t understand why they don’t want me.”
Ollie pressed some light kisses up his jaw line, connecting their lips in a lingering kiss a moment later, "Some people are just idiots and can't accept us. It's dumb and it sucks but it's life…"
Quinn closed his eyes, almost disappointed the kiss didn’t last longer. He sighed deeply and nodded, collecting himself. “You’re right… you’re right… I’m sorry for breaking down and thinking of dropping out. I’ll go to school.”
"I'm not gonna force you to go to school, if you really don't want to you don't have to," Ollie bit his lip, sitting back up straight in Quinn's lap.
“I’m scared is all. I think I’ll be able to do it if I can see you every now and then.” He murmured, placing his hands on Ollie’s hips.
"You can come see me whenever you want me to," Ollie replied, drawing circles on Quinn's chest, "If you ever need me you can come see me."
“I meant during school, love.” He chuckled weakly, shutting his eyes at the soothing touch. “I can’t come into your classes. Find me at lunch though? Sit with me.”
Ollie blushed, "Right yeah, duh…" He sighed, "And the teachers are pretty shitty, you honestly could," He mumbled, "But I'll find you at lunch."
“Good… thank you Ollie.” He grabbed Ollie’s collar and gently pulled him down for a loving kiss. “You’re the best thing to ever happen to me.”
Ollie's blush deepened, going bright red at Quinn's actions and the kiss, "I-I um… I dunno about that…"
Quinn laughed faintly, his smile returning in its full. “It’s true and you can’t convince me otherwise.” He pecked Ollie’s cheek and sighed. “Now hurry and get in the shower so you’ll be clean for school.”
Ollie pouted but moved off of Quinn's lap, "Yes sir, whatever you say sir." He joked, grabbing a new change of clothes as he headed to the bathroom.
Quinn laughed gently, watching Ollie move around the room. “If you get lonely in there I’d be glad to join you~” he teased, smiling sweetly.
Ollie went fire red, stuttering as he tried to come up with a response. He liked the idea but he wouldn't admit it just yet as he hurried off.
