(Vida is an oblivious babby lol)
Vida bounced over, her dress forming little ripples near her knees.
“What’s up?” she asked, smiling brightly.
Cyrus chuckled. “Things have been pretty good, honestly. Home life’s great. Work could be better, but I’m getting there, you know?”
Luna gave him a smile and a nod, "Yeah. Glad you made it here though! We're all together for what? The first time in months?"
Uriah couldn't hold back. He pulled his bestfriend into a hug. "I missed you man." A huge smile was on his face. It sucked he lived so far away, and he felt selfish for asking Luna to live so far away as well. He always felt bad for something. Looking back he realized he hid his sadness with goofing off or making other people smile.
"You're Katya's best friend. What's her type?" Esmae looked back at Katya, who seemed to be in a bit of a panic. Should I stop? Maybe I'm going to far. Vida would be the last person she asked. Then maybe she could figure it out.
Cyrus hugged Uriah back in the biggest bear-hug he could manage. His hands were shaking a bit, but he wasn’t sure if it was nerves or something else.
“I’ve missed you too.”
“Type?” Vida asked, tilting her head, “Uh… what did that mean again? Like what kind of blood she has?”
Katya tried to hide her panic the best she could by walking over to the snack table to grab something to eat. This was the last thing she was expecting, but she should have expected it? She didn't know.
Luna had a smile on as she sort of held herself as the two hugged. She always knew that those two were close and somedays she envied them for it. But she reminded herself that she was just as close to them as they were to each other. So much had changed in such little time.
Esmae's face faded into a blank, then to a smile. "Awe, you're so cute." Esmae pulled her into a hug. She felt like all of them were her siblings, and she needed to care for them. "You know what, never mind." She let go and walked back over to Katya. "I couldn't get much out of any of the girls here." Just then Caleb walked up behind the girls and tapped Esmae on the shoulder. She wipped around, still not liking being snuck up on. "May I steal her?" He asked Katya, even though he really didn't need to. "No thanks, you're annoying me." She held up her hand and turned back around.
Uriah sort of used Cyrus as a crutch since it was hard for him to stand for to long. "We all need to hang out without the kids and other people around." He said as he let go of Cyrus a limped his way back to Luna's side.
Katya looked at the guy that just showed up from nowhere. She was glad Esmae didn't get much, but gave the guy a look, "No? It's her choice whether or not she gets stolen. I don't get a say. That's how stealing works."
Luna was there to help support Uriah if he needed it. His limp seemed to be coming back at the moment from standing as long as he was, "We really do and maybe sit down for a little while."
Sparrow laughed when Uriah pulled Cyrus into a hug and crossed her arms. It felt good to have the old group back, their kids happy and playing, and no guild things to worry about. Sparrow was teaching self defence classes and was a very vocal feminist. She lived with her favourite people (no offence to the others lmao), and constantly talked with the old guild members. She still has nightmares about her work as an assassin but she was making it through. Sparrow was knocked out of her thoughts by a few passing kids and she shook her head, looking at the rest of the group.
“Have you looked into any long term solutions for that?” Cyrus asked, a frown forming on his mouth, “It’s hard to see you still in pain… But anyway, yeah, I agree. Where to?”
Vida had a confused expression on her face, but she shrugged and walked towards Katya.
“Why does she want to know your blood type?”
(Oh Vida XD)(also guys we are coming up close to the end, the new villain will make an appearance too)
"You're right, that's not how stealing works." Caleb grinned and easily pick up Esmae and threw her over his shoulder. "H-Hey, put me down!" Caleb didn't say anything as he walked towards the door. "Ka-katya, help me." Caleb looked back, almost as if saying he will take up a challenge, but it wasn't like he was going to do anything bad, so he didn't see the point in her saving Esmae.
"Yes, let's sit." Uriah didn't want to sound eager, but he really was hurting. He wrapped an arm around Luna. "I'm sorry," he whispered. She shouldn't have to do this for him. Damn bad leg. How was he supposed to take care of his family when he was like this. And Luna had to have been getting annoyed of helping him, or that's what Uriah thought at least. "I mean theres not much I can do." He chuckled but it was more like a disappointed laugh, more disappointed in himself for getting so badly hurt that it came to this.
Katya half jumped when Vida came out from nowhere like the boy. All thoughts on her poor sister fled from her head and all focus went to Vida. She quickly turned to face Vida, "Idon'tknow. WhywouldIknow? Yepnoidea. Hahahahahahahahahaha."
Luna kept an arm around Uriah and held him close to her smaller form. She had no problem helping him out like this, everyone was struggling with something. She whispered back to Uriah, "It's fine. I love you." She looked to Cyrus and suggested, "Maybe we could sit outside or maybe there's some chairs in here?"
"It is nice outside and there's less people." Uriah suggested, plus it was getting stuffy. "We should go outside." Uriah took his hand and played with Luna's hair. He loved this girl so much. She has helped him through some really bad times, and he was thankful for that.
Existing the building, Esmae gave up trying to get away, he was much stronger than her. "Why are you so obsessed with me?" Caleb just laughed and set her on a bench under a gazebo. "I'm not obsessed, I'm just interested. I've seen you around, you come here to work out a hone your skills still." Esmae leaned back. "Great I caught the eye of a stalker who's obsessed with me." Caleb let out a sigh and took his phone from his pocket. He turned on a slower song and held out his hand. "May I have this dance?"
Vida shrugged, still completely oblivious.
“Yeah, I guess not. Seems pretty weird.”
“Outside, if you don’t mind,” Cyrus requested, “I’m feeling a bit closed in in here.”
Luna gave a hum as Uriah started to play with her hair. She gave a smile and almost wanted to nod, but didn't want to disturb Uriah's hand, "Outside sound nice."
"Yeah," Katya let out a slight sigh relieved Vida didn't figure it out, "So, uh, it's been a while."
Standing Esmae took his hand. "I guess you're pretty interesting yourself." Gently he pulled her close and swayed to the music. If anyone saw this she would be so embarrassed. "So, uh Caleb. How old are you?" She didn't know much about him, but kinda wanted to. "I'm 18" Esmae tensed up. Does he know how old I am? Dad would kill him if he found out. "Y-You do know how old I am right?" He rested his chin on her head and nodded. "That's why I'm willing to wait, and I promise I won't do anything you don't want me too." Her heart skipped a beat, and she hated herself for it. But there was something about him that she liked.
Uriah began to walk to the door and outside. It felt much better and he felt like he could breathe.
Luna walked with him because she wanted to stay by his side. She felt more relaxed outside and honestly, enjoyed the cool air on her skin.
(Ooof)
Cyrus followed them outside, his knee creaking slightly as he walked. It wasn’t exactly painful, but more dull and achy, especially with some of the recent weather changes.
But it was less stuffy outside. It was quieter. The short walk was fine.
Nathan pulled Magnus over to where Katya and Vida were sitting. "Hey guys this is Magnus. He says I'm cute but I brought him here to prove him wrong. Am I cute?" He asked, running a hand through his hair again.
Vida turned up her nose.
“You’re kind of gross, honestly,” she said, “You don’t shower enough.”
Katya made a slight face, “You’re not particularly cute. But I see you more as a friend than anything.”
"I take offence to that, but hah!" He said to Magnus. "I am not cute!" Magnus smiled and shook his head, laughing. "You are. Your curls are adorable and your eyes sparkle when the light hits them right." He said. Nathan went red and tried to speak but words didnt form. "No." Was all he managed.
Sparrow scuttled closer to Cyrus and held his arm. "How's your knee?" She asked
“A little achy,” he admitted, “but no more so than normal, really. It’s fine.”
He sat down at a table outside and looked at Uriah.
“Look at us, already like old men,” he sighed.
“Girls are a lot cuter anyway, but okay,” Vida said, crossing her arms, “What do you think, Katya?”
Katya was throughly shocked at Magnus. Then more shocked at Vida. Vida liked girls. Vida like liked girls! Katya had a slight pink tinge, “Icompletelyagree. Girlsarewayprettierthanguys.”
(Vida: still has no idea what’s going on because she’s baby)
Vida smiled. “Yeah!”
She twirled her dress a bit and looked at her feet.
“We’ll go home eventually, Nathan, if this kid’s giving you a tough time.”
"Oh no," Sparrow joked. "I'm dating an old man!" She said, stifling a laugh
(Katya will just stand there. Dying. Slowly. Quietly. And painfully.)
Nathan's cheek stayed pink and he looked at Vida through his lashes. "No, it's fine. I like him!" He stated. Magnus nodded and put his arm around his shoulders and looked at the girls. "We're dating." He said, completely deadpan. Nathan pushed his arm off, "What?! No– I mean what–wait…" he sputtered
(Haha! I love it.)
"If my dad finds out he'll kill you." Ceb slight pushed her away with a smirk. "Is this permission?" Her face turned red and she pushed him off. "O-of course not. Don't get ahead of yourself!"
Uriah heard a shout and looked around. "Did anyone else hear Esmae's voice just then?" Uriah thought she was inside with the others. When did she sneak out? His Father mode switch on and he was looking around for her.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry. You're just fun to mess with." That wasn't the fist time she heard that. Aaron used to say that a lot. No, we are just friends. "Anyway I think our dance is over." She sat down. Five years. Of we start dating what would everyone think of me? Even more him. Would they think awful things? Esmae thought that there was no way she could date someone five years older than her. But she was interested.
