@Hawkeye
“What?”
“What?”
"Fluffleflies tend to spook whenever Miricos flowers are nearby," said Firiko, "And Miricos tend to grow pretty thickly on the forests edge, particularly the western edge,"(which is where they're headed)
“Great. The one warning we have, out the window.”
"Eh, Don't worry," said Firiko, as they approached the edge of the forest, -Some of the fluffleflies flying off in accordance- "We probably won't need it"
“Here’s hoping.” Reed said flatly.
About 15 minutes later they came to the edge of the forest. With all the fluffleflies gone now you could see how Firiko's fur shone a brilliant flame red in the sunlight. Coming out of the forest in a lush valley you could almost feel that something was wrong just by the silence of the area…
“Firiko……”
"what's wrong?" asked Firiko, tense because of the silence of the area.
“This feels….wrong. Really, really wrong.”
"I know.." said Firiko
“What do we do?”
"My best guess is that we look for people" Said Firiko padding off into the valley
“If you say so.” Reed muttered, following.
Firiko shifted after a few meters, leading them deeper into the bush.
(Sorry! This got a bit lost…)
(Oof Yeah)
Reed followed quietly, right behind Firiko.
It didn't take long before the trees broke, revealing the walls of a border village.
“Well, that’s fortunate.” Reed said.
"I don't know Reed" said Firiko, "Just listen for a few moments.."
Reed fell silent, listening. “What?”
"It's quiet," said Firiko,
“So? Maybe everybody’s asleep.” Reed knew that he was just saying that to make himself feel better, because he felt something was off as well. And the fact that it was the middle of the day didn’t help his argument.
"unless the entire town was knocked unconscious I highly doubt that's the case," said Firiko wryly, "Any chance we wanna investigate?"
“Is there any other option?” Reed asked sarcastically.
"Of course there is!" Said Firiko, equally sarcastic as he reluctantly led the way towards the village.
“God, why did I decide to do this? I could’ve just gone home, minded my own damn business.”
"I don't know pal" said Firiko as they approached the gates, "I can't tell you why you did something…"
“I’m a psychic for god’s sake, you’d think I could’ve seen the fruit of my idiocy, but noooooo.” Reed continued, completely ignoring Firiko.
Firiko just rolled his eyes, as they stopped a few meters from the gate, "HALOOOOO UP THERE!!" he yelled,
“Yep, Let’s scream hello in the abandoned town, because that’s a good idea.”
