Phoenix watched her move his piece, and laughed weakly. "Well, that was a really dumb move on my part." He mumbled under his breath, keeping up a little smile. "I should have known that much, at least."
Phoenix watched her move his piece, and laughed weakly. "Well, that was a really dumb move on my part." He mumbled under his breath, keeping up a little smile. "I should have known that much, at least."
"Yeah, but I mean, I get?" Cicada responded with a little shrug offering him a smile as she spun the wheel for herself. She kept smiling over at him as she moved her car, "Sooo how was your day?"
"Alright, I guess. It felt odd, knowing I had 'party plans' for tonight, though." Phoenix admitted with another little laugh, taking his turn when she finished. Looking up at her, he had a soft smile on. "What about you?"
"I had a pretty good day as well," Cicada responded with a soft smile as well. She took another sip of her beer before taking her another turn and she finally needed a job and salary cards, "And I don't know if I would call this a party, more like friends hanging out?"
"Meh, that's true…" Phoenix hummed softly, watching her pick up a card. Noting it was a job card, he became more curious at what she got. "What job did you get?" He asked her in a soft tone and leaned in.
"Hmmm, oh, I got the teacher, accountant, and cop," Cicada responded showing him the three cards. She gave him a little shit-eating grin that turned soft after a moment before picking the accountant card. It meant she didn't have to pay taxes and then he paid her taxes, "I get to choose three since I went to college bitch. Same with the salary."
Phoenix chuckled lightly, watching her continue her turn. "But you only work at one, right?" He hummed a little, reaching out and fixing the stack of job cards. "If you work at three jobs, that's just not fair. To your mental health, and to me." He hummed in a joking tone, going to take his turn. "I know you need money for student loans, but that's a little much, don't you think?"
"Course I only work one, it would be a little unfair if I didn't," Cicada laughed a little and went to pay Phoenix checking his salary before handing him the money. She had a light smile on leaned back watching him, "But my character could probably handle two jobs if she wanted too. Don't try and hold her back."
"Alright, alright fine. Though it still wouldn't be fair… and I think you might already be getting drunk." Phoenix added on with a light laugh. She seemed a little too sassy and confident to just be her normal self. Unless it was all a ruse that she had been holding, and keeping herself back until now. That was for sure a possibility.
"I might be a little tipsy," Cicada admitted taking another drink of beer. It was partially the truth, in all honesty she finally felt free to be herself. Partially due to the alcohol partially because she had come to terms with everything going on in her life, "But I'm not drunk yet. You'll know when I'm drunk, I promise you that much Phe-Phe."
Laughing at her nickname calling, he nodded a little. "If you're sure. Tell me when you can't see the board anymore." Phoenix hummed a little, watching her closely. "I'll put it away when you can't anymore."
"Oi! I'll be able to see the board," Cicada took her turn as she gave him a light glare. She was smiling though so there was no hostility to her, "Like I said, I'm only a little tipsy. I'm not going to go blackout drunk on beer."
Phoenix smirked a little, and watched her. "Mm, but I saw vodka in there. Once you get that out, there's no telling what will happen." Insisting on being right, he rested his chin on his palm. "And I didn't mean now, I just meant as we progress through the night. I know you're the one who's been drinking lately, but I thought I'd put my two-cents in."
"Got it," Cicada responded leaning back on her hands once her turn was finished. She gave him a little half-smirk as she looked at him before going back for the beer giving him a slight raise, "Though I don't think it'll be till much later on though, or when I break out the vodka. I think I can do like two shots of vodka and then I get drunk."
Chuckling lightly, he reached out and started his next turn. "Alright, I'll keep that in mind." Phoenix hummed a little as he pushed the piece along the board. "Until then, we'll play. It's your turn, by the way." He hummed. Picking up his own can of beer, he took another sip and managed to keep from gagging.
"I know that," Cicada responded reaching for the spinner. She had a light smile on as she pushed her little car along and leaned back on her hands once her turn was done. She finished off the rest of her second can, "It's too early to break into the heavy stuff anyway."
"Give it an hour or so, I'm assuming?" Phoenix hummed, raising a brow. He began taking his turn, glancing up at her a few times. "I'm assuming by then you'll have given up on waiting. Might I be correct?" He asked, resting his chin on his palm with a little smirk.
"Oi, give it an hour and a half and then I'll be drinking vodka," Cicada responded with a light laugh. She hummed a little and began taking her turn looking up at him with a little smile, "Buuuut I might start the whiskey sooner than that."
"Oh dear… I'm looking forward to it." Phoenix replied with a little laugh, watching her once again. "Is whisky any better than this?" He asked as he gestured to his can of beer, fiddling with one of the extra car pieces.
"Yeah, 'cause it's typically more expensive," Cicada responded with a little flare reaching for another beer. She would have grabbed for whiskey, but then it would be open and she didn't want to do that yet, "Beer's the cheap stuff, always will be."
"Mm, makes sense." Phoenix hummed, picking his drink up and slowly sipping from it. "Though what doesn't make sense, is that you're on your third drink. I haven't even finished my first one." Phoenix laughed a little, starting his turn.
"One, I started drinking before you got here. Two, this isn't my first time drinking. And lastly, you've barely drunk anything," Cicada explained with a bright laugh watching him. She took a sip of her new can, "So me drinking more does make sense."
"Well… yeah, that's true." Phoenix laughed weakly, running a hand through his hair. "I just find it funny, that's all." He hummed a little, pulling back once he had finished taking his turn. "Anyways, it's your turn."
"Got it," Cicada gave him a slight nod as she went to spin the spinner. She had a smile on as she took her turn looking up at Phoenix ever so often, "I guess anything can be funny if ya think about it."
"Mm, I might have to disagree with you. There's some things that just aren't. Even if people make it out to be." Phoenix hummed, resting his chin back on his hand. "Some things are just a big no. For me at least."
