Cicada nodded along with a grin. She always enjoyed being able to do something with her body, it contained the fire that burned inside. Her mind thought up her next sentence before she said it, "They really were. I haven't really taken a Phy ed class yet in college. Got out of it by being on the track team, might not be able to do that here."
"I'm not even sure there's a Physical Ed class here… if there is, I didn't know about it and skipped it all last year." He laughed nervously, rubbing the back of his neck. "I should probably look into that, figure out if that's why I always had a black spot in my grades." Phoenix muttered, drumming his fingers on his knee.
"It could be, but I don't think this college has one," Cicada responded smiling at him. She leaned back onto her hands as she swung her legs back and forth, "If it does then I should have signed up for the class. It could always be another class you know?"
"Yeah, true. You had me worried there for a second." Phoenix laughed lightly, attempting to think of something else to talk about. Not that he minded talking about it, it could get boring rather quickly though. "How long have you been in the area? Not long, right?"
"Two weeks now, yeah," Cicada nodded confirming what he said. She kept swinging her legs, "Most of that time was spent unpacking my dorm room, doing job interviews, and registering for classes. So I'm not exactly familiar with the city yet."
"Well then," Phoenix hummed, pushing himself up off the table. "I'll show you after classed, if you're up for it." He hummed again, pulling his phone out from his pocket. "You got a car, and a phone?" He questioned, opening up the maps to try and find a good meeting place.
Cicada pulled out her own phone after he did. He wanted to hang out with her and that made her extremely happy. Maybe she could befriend him after all. She nodded and looked over his shoulder to see what he was doing, "Yeah. What kind of college student would I be if I didn't have either?"
Phoenix chuckled, deciding a nearby coffee shop was the best place to start. Not too hard to get to anyways. "A strange one, that's for sure. Have you seen the little coffee shop around here? I was thinking we could meet up there. If you want of course." He offered her, showing the location on his phone.
Cicada saw the location of the coffee shop and thought through her last few days. She nodded after a moment and smiled at him, "I've walked past it a few times yeah, but never went in. I would love to meet you there after classes are done."
"What time do you think you'd be done?" Phoenix asked her, closing the application, switching over to contacts. Adding a new one, he put in her name and tapped the phone number slot. "And if I could get your phone number, that would be great."
"I think my classes get done at 3," Cicada responded knowing her next class was in a little less than an hour and it was only scheduled for an hour. She only had two classes today luckily. Then she handed him her phone with a contact pulled up that she had been working on while he was talking, "And why don't you put in yours and then I can put in mine."
Nodding softly, he took her phone and quickly filled in the blank information. Not taking him long, he handed her phone back with a smile. "There you go. You said you're free after 3 o'clock, right?" He asked holding his hand out for his own phone. "Because I might be busy until 4…"
Cicada took her phone back before grabbing his and filling out the information. She may have messed around changing the contact name to Hot Chick From Campus, but handed it back afterwards. It was for a good joke and she always put in ridiculous names for her contacts, mainly because she didn’t care about most of them, except for a few, “Yeah 3, but I can wait till 4 if that’s when your class is over.”
"Awesome, thank you." Phoenix grinned tucking his phone in his pocket. "Speaking of class, I've got one in ten minutes. Wanna walk with me?" He asked her, walking over to the hill. "I don't want to just ditch you, but Mr. Peterson is brutal if we're late. And not just on me, the whole class is set up with extra work for a couple weeks if you're late."
Cicada smiled and hopped off the table to follow after him. Her hands were by her side, but she really wished she had worn something with pockets, "Sure. I don't have anything better to do. Besides you can show me around while we walk to your class. Right?"
"I mean, it'll be a rushed tour because I lost track of time. But sure thing." Phoenix nodded, jogging up the small hill. He had ten minutes to get across the campus and in class. How hard could it be? "Let me know if I'm walking too quickly."
“Will do,” Cicada nodded following along after him. She probably wouldn’t find him walking to quickly and it was fine if it was a short tour. All she wanted was a bit better bearings of the campus, “Lead the way then.”
Continuing onward, Phoenix started at a slow jogging pace. "Over there," He paused, gesturing to a tall building seeming like a theater. "Is the fine arts building. All the drama performances are there. And whenever we have a 'school assembly' it'll be in that building."
"So the building I'll only be in for school assemblies, got it," Cicada responded keeping up with him. She gave him a smile before doing a slight shrug, "I'm not really a theater person okay?"
"I don't really blame you. Savanna makes me go to see some of the performances they give here though. The guy she likes is a theater kid." Phoenix chuckled, rolling his eyes just slightly.
Cicada laughed with him. She remembered doing that for her ex, except she ended up going to all his games and… She didn't want to think about him right now, "I feel sorry for you. Are they any good at least?"
"As good as College students can be I guess." Phoenix shrugged with a light laugh. "They aren't great, but not terrible. I guess at least." He offered her, pressing his lips together.
"Good to know," Cicada responded with a nod and laugh. She still had no plans to watch any, but it was nice to know they were about average. The only way she was watching one if she got dragged to it.
"Anyways, moving on. Senior dorms are over that way, though that's rather unimportant for you." Phoenix chuckled, catching sight of the building he needed to be at. "And up there is the building I'm going to be despising if I'm stuck with extra school because of it."
"So the english building, got it," Cicada responded with a smirk. She spotted the senior dorm buidling as well, "Hey. It might be important to know where the Senior dorms are. I'll be living there next year."
