Cicada was on her way to the first class of the day. She had just transferred to this new college after having to move away from her old one for, reasons. She wasn't going to dwell on that and continued on her way. Move-in day had been hectic at the least and hse had relished her last few days of being able to not worry about her appearance. Now she had to in order to make a good impression on the student population, dress and all. One would think that a junior in college wouldn't care about appearances at this point, but Cicada kind of had to since it was her first 'official' day on campus. Now, where was her first class again?

Phoenix was not the slightest caring about his outfit. He wore his usual jeans and hoodie sweatshirt. There was nothing fancy about him in the slightest. The day was a nice warm one, which he didn’t care for. He was more of a winter person anyways.
With a heavy sigh, Pheo nodded along to the music he was listening to with a slight smile. It was chill, and relaxing. Same as him in general. If he could sing, he probably would be as of the moment. He was in a pretty good mood, as of the moment at least.
Glancing around at his fellow peers, he looked around with a slight snicker. One of the students was trying to look all tough, but with the kind of knowledge Phoenix had, clearly the young man wasn’t very dangerous. ’Typical, he’s not even a five.’ Pheo mentioned to himself, noticing a tall girl with a 7 hanging over her head. ’Let’s not make her mad.’ He snickered again, running his fingers through his curls.

Cicada wandered a little before figuring she was so very lost. She glanced around the area she was in and spotted someone listening to music, or at least she figured that's what he was doing. She put on her best nice person smile and walked over to him. Hopefully, he would know where her class is, or at least point her in the right direction, "Hello there. My name's Cicada. I just transferred here and was wondering if you could point me in the direction of the Computer Science building?"

@Rainy_day_artist_classic group

At feeling someone touch his shoulder, he turned around and yanked out his earbuds. "Sorry, what was-" And slowly he froze. Looking her up and down, he was incredibly confused. "S-sorry, something distracted…. distracted me. What was that?" He asked cautiously, his eyes kept glancing up over her head. 'A ten!? How can such a tiny thing be a ten!? My own sister isn't even a ten!'

@ShadeStar

"I asked you where the Computer Science building is? Sorry if I scared you," Cicada responded taking a look at the boy. He was kind of cute from an aesthetic perspective, rocking the outfit she wished she was in at the moment. She also noticed how he kept looking above her head. Was her hair messed up or something? She hoped not if it was she might not be bothered to try and fix it. Her hands rested beside her after getting his attention, "If you don't know where it is I'll get out of your hair."

Snapping back to the reality called earth, he looked down at her. "Computer Science building?" Phoenix asked softly, trying to do a mental check. "I think… I think it's over down by the main building. That way." He pointed off to the right, glancing over his shoulder to see if he was correct. Nodding in assurance, he turned back to her. "Yeah, that way. Once you get to the big building, there should be signs telling you which way to go." Giving her a weak smile, his eyes trained back on the ten above her head.

@ShadeStar

Cicada smiled at him and nodded along as he pointed her in the right direction. She wondered what was so off-putting about her since he seemed a little all over the place. Did she mess up her make up? Put her dress on backward? Was her hair all messed up? She didn't want to meet her professor and new classmates with something off about her. Cicada worked so damn hard to make sure she didn't look threatening, "Okay thank you. Before I go, can I ask if there's something wrong with my hair? You keep looking up there for some reason."

@Rainy_day_artist_classic group

Shaking his head, he looked back down to her. He kept his smile, and tried to figure out what she had just said. "Hmm? Oh no, I'm just seeing something behind you." He shrugged it off, not sure if he should just… ask. That seemed incredibly dumb to him, but he wasn't sure. So he just decided against it. "You look… perfectly fine. I- I mean, you look perfect… oh good grief, I'm not good at this. You look lovely." He huffed, finally getting his words out.

@ShadeStar

Cicada laughed slightly as he stumbled over his words. She lifted a hand up to her mouth to try and help sell her innocent act. If there was anyone on campus she might have to convince, it would be the person in front of her. Her mind ran through her schedule and figured she had a few minutes before class to talk to him. She gave him a kind, maybe slightly flirty, smile once she stopped laughing. There was no actual emotion behind it, she just figured flirting might get her closer to him faster, "Well thank you. You don't look that bad yourself. Mind if I can have a name to put to that cute face?"

@Rainy_day_artist_classic group

'Why are girls so contradictory?'
Trying to find words, he sucked in a deep breath nodding. "Spencer. Phoenix Spencer." He introduced, rather formally at that. The young man was strange, there was doubt about that. He always introduced himself as such, just because of his love for the James Bond movies. "You said yours was…. Cicada? Right?" He asked her softly, trying not to give into whatever game she was trying to play.

@ShadeStar

The way he introduced himself… He was imitating James Bond wasn't he? He was such a dork. Cicada nodded to confirm that yes, her name was Cicada. She hardly gave out her last name in fear that someone would look her up, even though Cicada wasn't that common of a first name. It was better than someone having both her first and surname, "Yep, that's me. I'm a Computer Science major if you didn't figure that out already. What's your's Phoenix?"

@Rainy_day_artist_classic group

Crossing his arms over his chest, he was really trying figure her out. "I'm in for my major in film production. Mostly because I'm into the behind the scenes stuff. I'm too much of a nerd to be in front of the camera." He shrugged, biting on his lip in thought. 'Cicada… that's a really interesting name. Especially for someone so… intense.' Trying to keep himself from laughing out, he looked to her with a softer smile. "I'd suggest getting to class." Phoenix smirked slightly, leaning down. "You've got about five minutes until it starts."

@ShadeStar

"That sounds about right," Cicada forced herself to giggle just slightly. At his comment about the time she looked down at her phone and saw he was right. When she looked back up she found him leaning down towards her. If he got any closer she might end up hurting him, accidentally of course. She took a step back away from him so it didn't come down to that. She forced her smile to stay on as she began to walk, "You're right. Thanks for your help. I'll see you later?"

@Rainy_day_artist_classic group

Trying not to seem suspicious of her, he shrugged. "We'll see. I've got classes all day today. Then whatever comes after. Have a good class." Phoenix called out, skidding to a stop. 'Maybe I should walk her to class… I've got time.' Biting on his lip, he wavered on the thought of walking with her or not. 'Come on you dork, you will be late if you don't pick now.' Phoenix scolded himself, turning around and running after her. "I remembered that building can be kind of tricky. You want me to walk with you?"

@ShadeStar

Cicada paused a smirk finding it's way onto her face as he caught up to him. She let it fall the movement she knew he could see her face as it was replaced with a bright smile. In complete honesty, she was glad he had come to help her out. She had already gotten lost once and didn't think she could do it a second time. Especially if everyone else would already be heading to their own classes. She nodded in response, "That would be great if you could! You won't be late to class if you help me, will you?"

@Rainy_day_artist_classic group

Shaking his head, he shoved his hands in his pockets looking ahead of himself. "Nope. I've got time. Besides, I'm plenty happy walking you to class." Phoenix gave her a slight shrug, watching their feet as they walked along the path. A slight sigh left his lips, his eyes trailing up to the scene in front of them. "So you're into science? That's what you said, right?"

@ShadeStar

"Computer Science yeah," Cicada corrected him as she walked alongside him. Her eyes took in the beauty that was her new college campus. She was glad she had transferred here of all places. She couldn't get far away enough from her old campus and, him. There was no need to go down that path, she had someone who seemed pretty decent and a whole campus full of people who had never met her or heard of her, reputation. She looked over at Phoenix her smile turning to a much lighter one, "I fell in love with programming in high school and decided to make a career out of it. Why did you decide to go into film production?"

@Rainy_day_artist_classic group

Shrugging some, he really didn't know why. "Just because. I guess it's the same as you, though I'm not sure I'll actually be able to turn it into a career." Phoenix sighed softly running his fingers through his soft auburn curls. His oceanesc eyes made their way to rest on her, taking in her appearance. She had bright red hair, a rather pretty color and style. She stood out in crowd, or would to him. Her eyes were a pretty brown color, and had freckles all over her face. They could honestly pass for cousins, if not siblings.

@ShadeStar

"I'm sure you'll be able to," Cicada assured him a little. Her eyes caught on his curls and then to his eyes and then to the rest of him. From a distance, the two could definitely pass for siblings or cousins, even though Cicada knew it wasn't true. For one she had a darker skin tone and there was no way the two could have both blue-green and brown eyes while having the same parents. That and, well, she knew her family from her dead parents and younger sister to the aunts, uncles, grandparents, and cousins that wouldn't take her in 11 years ago. She caught his eyes as she stared at him and quickly looked away and back to the surroundings.

@Rainy_day_artist_classic group

The sight of her gaze trained on his made him uneasy, so he forced himself not to think about it. Phoenix also tore his gaze off of her, trying not to let it travel places he shouldn't. "If you say so. I seriously doubt it, I don't even know if I could move out to L.A. because of the whole trying to pay for living. They're also kind of insane. Just a little bit at least." He snickered, glancing at his watch. He had twenty minutes, and the clock was only ticking down. "We should probably hurry, your teacher won't be very happy if you're late."

@ShadeStar

Cicada laughed with him and pulled her phone out and checked the time. She had, only three minutes till class started. Well wasn't that lovely. She could feel his gaze on her only after he removed it. He probably noticed the same things Cicada had. She put her phone away and let out a sigh, "The people living there do tend to have a legacy of being crazy. But in other news, I've got three minutes till I'm late. I hope the professor will be lenient with me."

@Rainy_day_artist_classic group

"Don't worry, that's plenty of time." He smiled to her softly. Waiting for her confusion to endure, he prepared himself for a sprint all the way into the building towards her class. It was visible from where they were standing, though the entrance was on the opposite side they were headed for. "Hope you're wearing running shoes." He noted subtly, before taking off in full sprint towards the building. "I'll race you there!" Phoenix Spencer, really was the biggest dork around.

@ShadeStar

Cicada gave him a look of confusion the cogs whirling in her head. What did he mean by that? Then the running shoes comment? The pieces started to fall together just as he took off sprinting. Her face contorted for a moment before letting out an exasperated sigh taking off after in him in heeled boots. Probably not the smartest idea, but she was used to running in these. She hoped. A grin broke onto her face though maybe a little forced, "Get back here you cheater!"

@Rainy_day_artist_classic group

Grinning, he turned around to jog backwards. "What are you gonna do to me? Especially if you can't catch me!~" Phoenix sang out, turning back so to avoid tripping over anything. Though the path was clear, he didn't like to push his luck more than it could expand. Picking up his pace, he skidded around a couple people as they came around the building. "S'cuse me, sorry 'bout that." He muttered apologies glancing back to look at Cicada. "Come on slow poke!"
